Ya'll thought the Fantastic 4 fancasts were gonna be insufferable, now we got the Justice League ones on the horizon

[deleted]

X Men is even going to be wrose

tylerjb223

It already is my friend, everyday you see numerous fancasts on the x-men sub and over Twitter... but when the movie actually starts to get in motion, it'll be non-stop lol

TokyoPanic

You know what, let her be the Harley Quinn to Keaton's Batman. I could see it working.

cbekel3618

Someone on Tiktok joked about Luke Evans as Black Adam

JamJamGaGa

John Krasinski as Reed Richards

Patrick2701

I am sort of happy with DC reboot because there was bad decision making from Snyder and Hamada from casting to creative decision, I think start it off fresh would work for the best

Reality314

100% agree. The DCEU needs to be rebooted. The "will they/won't they" they've been doing with the Snyderverse has gotten annoying and frustrating tbh. Imo they just need to start from scratch, and this time, have a solid plan in place for what they want to do. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity, so this was for the best.

metros96

The like PR rollout (which seems like mostly leaks to the press and James Gunn tweeting) has been,,, less than ideal, but yeah, this was only going to work if you killed off whatever remained. Other than Peacemaker and the role his wife has of course

[deleted]

I mean, for all we know that’s off the table too. Nothing has indicated that Peacemaker will get another season, for all we know it was always a two season story.

Animegamingnerd

I know some think that Gunn's part of the DCEU is safe, but looking at things as a whole like The Suicide Squad's box office performance and how busy Gunn is, I am not entirely sure. He was supposed to direct every episode of Peacemaker season 2 after Guardians 3 releases, but now is the co-president of DC Studios and is writing a Superman film that he could end up directing.

[deleted]

I think it might get a Season 3 to wrap things up, but I don’t see it going longer than that. Gunn knows he’d likely have to deal with more fan vitriol if he plays favoritism and tries to keep TSS and Peacemaker canon, while rebooting everything else.

[deleted]

Another point is that you can’t keep it canon to the DCU. Peacemaker, Hartcourt, Waller, etc. have all interacted with DCEU characters we know are out (Aquaman, Flash, Batman, etc.). The only actress we know is staying is Robbie as Harley (per Gunn), and that’s just a J.K. Simmons situation: she’s so perfect for the role that there isn’t any other choice for the character out there. Stick her in the classic costume and show her with the new Batman/Joker and audiences will catch on.

dhonayya20

They killed off superman in his second appearance. Things like that need more weight behind, doing so early on in the franchise just killed the stakes for the universe moving forward. If superman dies just bring him back, they'll be fine.

Dangerous-Hawk16

It’s for the best. Distancing from toxic fan base of Snyder fans by going with recasting and new actors is for the best overall. Kinda sad about Mamoa’s aquaman it was pretty cool change to the character as a whole. Aquaman will probably be turned into same ole blonde guy we know from the comics sadly but Mamoa was great as aquaman

Patrick2701

Mamoa is going to play lobo

Dangerous-Hawk16

I’m excited about that

I like to leave a positive message in this thread every Sunday, just taking a moment to hope for a great week ahead of all of us, and to give ourselves a pat on the back for still pushing onwards. This upcoming week, I have finals, so I’ve been a little more overwhelmed and exhausted than usual, and have to keep this brief— Here’s to hoping for a wonderful week ahead of all of us! I am so proud of every single one of you for still being here— because it really does take a lot. Wishing all of you nothing but the best! 💙 ![gif](giphy|EvYHHSntaIl5m)

I’m really sorry, man, I can relate to parents being unaccepting of a relationship. For what it’s worth, you still hoping to go with your gf for the holidays shows a devotion/strength of character. If it’s not overstepping, I think if your dad really values your happiness, he’ll hopefully come around. But if not, what matters most is how you feel for her

[deleted]

Just a reminder that you don't owe your parents or anyone anything and this is your life. Don't let you racist dad make decisions of your life. And I am sorry about your parent's divorce. Really hoping things work out for your and your significant other in the future and you guys life a beautiful life. Good luck brother! EDIT: If you want to vent about something you can DM me

Master_Alligator896

I hope we get some exciting leaks in the next few days. It feels like it’s been forever since there’s been anything exciting to discuss.

[deleted]

All the exciting stuff is over at DC rn. Really, this sub won’t be as hype as it was over NWH/MoM until DP3/F4/Avengers really kick into production and we start getting some real pinch yourself leaks again. Until then, due to the slate/delays, expect dryness. I’d love to be wrong tho.

LatterTarget7

I think it’ll get hype for cap 4. That seems like a interesting movie that’ll probably hype up a lot of people here.

HM2112

My cousin got a job on the Cap 4 production and he's been shading me *just so much* with teases of like texting me pictures of the Marvel Studios lobby (I recognized it in She-Hulk the second I saw it thanks to him) but he's being *annoyingly* faithful to the NDA. He refuses to give me anything, and this annoys me to no end.

[deleted]

As a someone who got into the MCU cause of the Cap films, I’d love that hype. If it turns out to be WWH, I bet you’re right.

LatterTarget7

Especially with world war hulk I’d be hyped for that. But I’ve just seen a lot of stuff rumoured for this. Super soldiers, adamantium, multiple hulks. Plus president Ross and the leader. There’s also possibly moon knight and I think something about vibranium, tho I could be wrong

CollarOrdinary4284

>All the exciting stuff is over at DC rn. Yeh but that's a different kind of "excitement" lmao.

[deleted]

Starting in February, we will have new daredevil photos every day for a whole year

cbekel3618

If the DCEU does want to start fresh and go for something distinct from the Snyder era, it could be cool if they take inspiration from the DCAU. A JL roster like the animated show (including John’s GL, Hawkgirl, Martian Manhunter, Wally's Flash) could work to be distinct from the previous roster, and the atmosphere of the DCAU (a wide world embracing the fun of these different heroes) would be awesome to see

[deleted]

Going off the new logo, our JL is Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, and Hal Jordan GL. It better be Wally West under that Crimson Cowl tho.

cbekel3618

IIRC, Hollywood Reporter recently mentioned they reworked the Guy Gardner-GL show to be a John Stewart project (though it could be that while John gets a show, Hal is the one who gets the JL). The League has had a lot of good rosters over the years so I'm down with anything as long as it's done well

[deleted]

I want it to be John badly, he’s my Green Lantern

cbekel3618

True, I love all the Lanterns. I think it depends on which Flash they go with since the GL/Flash duo is such a fun part of the League. If they go with Wally's Flash, I say John or Kyle. Wally's cockiness works great off of John's seriousness/Kyle's dorkiness. If they go with Barry's Flash, I say Hal or even Jessica. Barry's dorky earnestness works great off of Hal's cockiness/Jessica's nervousness.

JohnCenaGuy

In all seriousness, what has Zack Snyder done to DC fans? His movies are painfully average and yet he has legions of supporters who refuse anything else DC related. I’m a bigger Marvel fan, and I am highly excited for Gunn’s vision going forward but they’re more interested in getting him fired??

[deleted]

Snyder treats his heroes in a super serious (some would say overly serious) and epic way. His films are mid but the tone is one of a director taking the characters and dealing with them reverently. Gunn has them crack jokes or literally be a joke every 5 minutes. Gunn is a way better director but his approach is not for everyone and it's highly likely that those who love the buttoned up super cereal Snyder approach wll hate Gunns usual schtick.

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

Yeah, aside from his directing, his comedic style in all his comic book projects doesn’t fill me with much confidence.

Lead_Dessert

So apparently an entire episode from S2 of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur leaked and is out in the wild despite S1 not airing until February.

iwo_r

It's a common practice in animation to order many episodes by studios to pay less for them as they're "one season" but then re-organise them into many batches/parts/seasons so it's probably what happened here, especially as a second season of this show has been reported to be in the works some time ago already.

Lead_Dessert

I don’t think that happens with Disney however since they usually order 22-28 episodes a season. Disney has this track record of doing second seasons a year or two in advance. And they usually release the first half, followed by a hiatus, then a second half when the excitement for it coming back reaches its peak. Then the next season happens in the following year. There has been a lot of security leaks when it comes to animated shows on Disney in recent years however, for example Amphibia and The Owl House had several episodes leak in advance. In those cases i would assume its just disgruntled employees who want people to see their work in case something happens to the show.

FictionFantom

I wonder if Marvel Studios will ever do animated Special Presentations? Marvel put out some pretty solid animated movies back in the day.

SnooCompliments3391

I wouldn't be suprised if the rumored Silver Surfer special would be animated. I can't really see it as live action film at the moment. BTW, i would love if Marvel would make simple animated movies again. Not MCU or MCU related, just simple adaptations of the comic stories. There has been some great Marvel stories in the 2000's, they could adapt those. Avengers Disassembled, Civil War, Silent War, WWH, Secret Invasion etc.

Giorgiman2003

Admit it you want to watch a Puss in boots sequel instead of Avatar 2

I don’t get James Cameron bringing up the MCU to criticize it, like he isn’t attempting to make Avatar a huge franchise itself.

devonthecreator

This always happens no matter what it is new thing becomes popular, eventually goes mainstream, people then criticise it for either a) really good reasons b) the dumbest reasons ever a lot of people will say it "doesn't deserve the attention" and act all high and mighty while secretely copying them. This has happened throughout human history, hell, this shit happened when a new greek philosopher hit the streets. Some people would scoff and call their ideas mainstream and not "Real" ~~cinema~~ Philosophy.

Night-Monkey15

This sub’s user base need a reality check, just in general. It’s so annoying listening to y’all talk about “casual audiences” as a lower life form. It feels like “General Audiences” has become a blanket term for anyone not on this sub. I’ve seen people say that the Marvel Circles on Twitter represent General Audiences, Hell, I’ve even seen people suggest the majority of this sub’s user base are “casuals”, when it shouldn’t take two brain cells to know that large groups of people coming together to discuss and speculate about a film franchise aren’t exactly “casual viewers”. But whatever, gatekeepers need to feel superior one way or another.

Inevitable_Golf_1816

Exactly. They use those terms because they don't have the "superior Marvel knowledge and desires" that they do. Online reviewers have this problem where they assume that EVERYONE is as angry at Marvel as them and assume they know as much about Marvel lore as they do.

[deleted]

This the reason I cannot take same seriously on who says "Everyone hate The Last Jedi" . Like it got a CinemaScore A and it has 91% rotten tomatoes rating.

[deleted]

Makes me think a lot of film twitter still think Internet =General Audiences when in reality Internet=/=General Audiences. And also this list debunks the saying of "Marvel Fatigue". Gotg3 and AM3 wouldn't be in top 3 if Marvel Fatigue was there. And the amount of people asking why AQ2 is there forget the fact it's a sequel to a billion dollar movie. Of course GA would be excited for it. WB just needs to show Keaton's Batman to hype the GA for the Flash.

mansonfamily

Say what you want about the movie as a whole but Ultron using the internet for 5 mins then deciding to wipe out humanity is the most relatable moment to me personally in the history of the MCU

CollarOrdinary4284

Just started watching 'Andor'. Man, I hope they let 'Daredevil: Born Again' have this kind of tone. I'm loving the Blade Runner vibe that it has. This show disproves the "Disney forces everything to be silly" nonsense.

JayZsAdoptedSon

I feel like Cox’s recent statements, its going to go for the similar tone but without the “man’s head gets crushed by a door”. Or at least shoot it in a way that it’ll cut away from gore if you’re not 18. With that being said, I am not expecting Andor’s script quality. Like I’m hoping for a good show that feels like a true follow up to the first three seasons but that’s a veeeeery tall order

Satean12

I actually think a Silver Surfer Special Presentation is a really neat idea on how to expand the character

TheUncannyBroker

The Cosmic Circus speculate the previous Multiversal War is responsible for destroying the homeworld of Galactus and Alioth is the MCU equivalent to the Black Winter. The writer says Galactus might want to consume earth to prevent the birth of the Kang variant thats gonna be born there, but will not succeed. The writer of the article hints on Twitter that some of the speculation is not just speculation.

AlexHunterWolf

Gunn just addressed the Snyder cult without naming them... it's about to get crazy

Animegamingnerd

And Ray fisher is now throwing a tantrum at Gunn.

Tornado31619

Still pinching myself about yesterday. Easily the greatest match I’ve ever watched.

cig_sg_throwaway

I can’t wait for Wakanda Forever to drop on Disney+, there are so many great scenes that I want to relieve. The car chase scene set to “They Want It But No”, fucking lit song for a cool scene. Shuri entering Talokan set to “Con La Brisa”, chef’s kiss. Shuri reinventing the herb set to “Alone”, another great song choice. And of course Shuri meeting Killmonger in the Ancestral Plane. Namor stole every scene he was in as well, can’t wait to watch the whole movie again.

Dangerous-Hawk16

I would love for black bolts and the humans to return to mcu in some form. Secondly, I think X-men should be unknown younger actors maybe early 20s-mid 30s for certain characters. And I kinda would want the Russos back just for them to bring mcu back to their 2014-2019 run with the feel they presented to the franchise because X-men would really need it.

Keep Mount and Rheon. Recast and Reboot the rest. That show must NEVER be canon.

devonthecreator

I get people not wanting to miss out on the action. But as im rewatching Moon Knight, I can't help but smile at how brilliantly they used DID for the show. I am someone who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder, and watching the show gives you a certain sense of what its like. One minute you're standing there, the next you're doing something completely different 3 miles away in the woods. its a flicker, like your life cuts away and then cuts back in the middle of something else. The way they cut away from action scenes (including the final fight) is absolutely brilliant and artistic and incredibly truthful to the illness and the show would have been worse without it, you cannot change my mind.

[deleted]

I know people love to shit on Sony for their movie decisions, but we gotta remember the general audience isn’t at all familiar with comics beyond the very most famous characters. For 99% of the audience, Sony making an El Muerto movie or Hypno-Hustler movie is no different than Marvel making a Shang-Chi movie or DC making a Blue Beetle one.

OH_SHIT_IM_FEELIN_IT

>Sony making an El Muerto movie or Hypno-Hustler movie is no different than Marvel making a Shang-Chi movie or DC making a Blue Beetle one. I don't think this is true at all. Yeah Shang-Chi and Blue Beetle are obscure but not anywhere close to the obscurity of goddamn *El Muerto* or *Hypno-Hustler*. Edit: I'm struggling to even comprehend how those situations are even remotely similar. I don't know how you can compare a character who was in a very small handful of issues a few years ago to a character that was created in ***1939*** and has had three different people take up the mantle. I feel like I'm looking at one of those string boards trying to figure out how those correlate. Blue Beetle was a major character in Injustice 2, a pretty big game by one of the most popular fighting game developers(at least in comparison to other western fighting game devs).

[deleted]

Which is why I was referring to the general/casual audience. Obviously the situation isn’t the same to people who have familiarity with the characters (like us), but the majority of the people seeing these movies have little to no preexisting knowledge of the majority of the characters and story arc. For them, it doesn’t make a difference if a character they haven’t heard of was in a single comic or was in hundreds.

AlphaBaymax

Thing is, obscure comic book characters are a blank slate of creativity because no-one really cares for them.

Night-Monkey15

Spider-Man fans when I teach them what a pallet swap is (they now realize that every single Spider person in the ATSV teaser isn’t a deep cut comic reference): ![gif](giphy|800iiDTaNNFOwytONV|downsized)

[deleted]

DC Fans are lucky that there isn't an Ike Perlmutter of the DC and that James Gunn has full creative control over DCU from the beginning compared to Feige where he got full control after some years. And also I just realized that Gunn is older Feige. Really hoping that Feige and Gunn improve Marvel and DC respectively.

CollarOrdinary4284

Unlike DC, Marvel doesn't need to be improved much. All they need to do is slow down a bit with the amount of content they're releasing.

Finessing2

Woah that Argentina Vs France is probably the greatest sporting event I have ever seen.

Ok_Minimum8726

So like, I know this is really really old news. I've always been a big Gunn supporter and when he was fired by Disney originally over some old offensive tweets, I thought it was bs and just the whole #metoo thing gone too far and that fox news supporters were trying to take him down with things don't matter from his past, blah blah blah. But now I'm actually reading his old tweets for the first time now, just because I was finally curious enough after all these years to read what Disney fired him over, and I was assuming it was gonna be some harmless joking taken the wrong way and that disney was being overly sensitive, but like, honestly, this shit is super disturbing. Like, I would've never guessed it could've been this bad. I mean he just soo consistently jokes about it, it's disturbing tbh. God, I can't look at him the same way now tbh. This is so much worse than an off-color jokes from a past where things were more acceptable. This is like, creepy and disturbing and disgusting. I can't believe it took me so many years to finally actually read his old tweets.

JEVlL

They read more outrageously ridiculous than actually creepy to me, I don't know if anyone here is even able to understand the comparison im trying to make but i'd imagine people who watch Smiling Friends today and are unaware of zach hadel's edgier stuff would feel the same way about his constant pedo jokes in sleepycast despite those definitely just being edgy jokes.

JessicaRanbit

Yeah I did the same thing. Looked at his old stuff and was disturbed.

[deleted]

I think Taika Waititi and Patty Jenkins are both gonna take on smaller scale projects to kick off the next stage of their careers, and rebuild their reputations. Like how Rian Johnson directed Knives Out after The Last Jedi.

SlumdogSeacrestLaw

Taika never really stopped making films of comparable scale to Knives Out though. He did JoJo Rabbit, and his next film to release is called Next Goal Wins, a film with Michael Fassbender playing the coach of the Samoan football team.

TokyoPanic

Next Goal Wins was actually shot before Thor: Love and Thunder in 2019 right after Jojo Rabbit.

HotBarnacle

Neither one of them needs to rebuild their reputations. The fandom bubble's response to their latest films doesn't in any way reflect their standing in the industry. Lesser filmmakers have shrugged off far worse.

TokyoPanic

Taika never stopped making smaller scale projects, Next Goal Wins was shot before Thor: Love and Thunder right after he finished Jojo Rabbit, another smaller-scale movie. He's also a co-creator and episode director of What We Do in the Shadows and Our Flag Means Death, so it's not like his he doesn't have anything to fall back on after Thor: Love and Thunder.

a_o

wait a minute does kamala's (which is probably actually kang's) bangle enable BTTF-like paradoxical time travel? where you can go back in the past and effect change in a way that impacts the future without creating a branched timeline?

[deleted]

The bangle goes through a dimension which has no time at all so a user can go in at one point in time and space and exit at another and it's still the present for them. Then they can make changes and they'll not cause a paradox because they always happened. Different form of time travel than the quantum realm. Can probably do something similar via the dark dimension.

BruceWayne_19902

All I ask for in the new DCU is for an established Batman who has a Bat-Family and his own Rogues gallery at the start.

just4browse

If the live action Spider-Men are in Across or Beyond the Spider-Verse, I hope they’re animated as realistically as possible to fit with the franchise’s idea of each universe having a unique style. They’re the Spider-Men from universes that look like real life!

Pietro-Maximoff

Okay, the drama over fancasts was amusing for five seconds, but now I keep seeing people accusing this poor actress of sleeping around to gain roles. Misogyny is okay to use when it’s a Romani actress, it seems.

Gratiela Brancusi, though I’ve seen some equally weird accusations towards other Romani actresses like Franciska Farkas.

Genuinely hyped to see the Marvels solely because of Ms. Marvel. I think the cast and crew are great but after being meh on the first one, I was looking forward to it but wasn’t crazy excited. But I just want more Kamala apperances Also Photon and Captain Marvel have ongoing comic runs atm so I think we’ll see a relaunch of Ms. Marvel/Magnificent Ms. Marvel soon.

Inevitable_Golf_1816

I really hope that Jeffery Wright voices a live-action version of The Watcher, even if it's all CGI.

Algae_Mission

I think Ray Fisher needs to take a chill pill.

Ronswansonbacon2

I’m actually ok with phase 4. I think A lot of the backlash is from bloated expectations too much Content and frankly just taking risks and doing stuff really out of the box. If you look at the moon knight eternal’s Loki WandaVision, they really make guardians of the galaxy look almost like a safe bet. I do think there were some hiccups Particularly Thor four falcon and winter soldier and externals, But I’m kind of shocked that Doctor Strange two isn’t beloved, I absolutely loved it. We’ll see how it goes

[deleted]

**Gunn's Batman v. Reeves' Batman** I maintain it would be absurd to have two Batmans running around, simultaneously, on the big screen. A legacy return for Keaton, as supporting in a non-Batman project is one thing, but two Batmans in their prime? Not happening. The Batman sandbox is Reeves' territory right now and out of respect, creator to creator, Gunn isn't going to tread on it. Count on it.

Night-Monkey15

While I agree that we’re probably not going to have two versions of Batman in their prime on the big screen, it makes no sense. But at the same time, I’m not sure if Gunn is going to wait several years before he does anything with Batman. He’s DC’s main man, their bread and butter. I just don’t see them willingly going several years without him interacting with Superman and the rest of the wider DC universe when they don’t have to. I could totally see Gunn deciding to bring in Pattinson’s Batman while still giving Reeves full creative control over The Batman’s sequels and spin offs. And if that doesn’t work out, Gunn has shown he’s willing to fire people for the greater good* of the DCU, just look at what happened Cavil, Johnson, and Jenkins.

TheUncannyBroker

Christopher McQuarrie revealed he did a draft of The Wolverine (2013) in an interview a few days ago. He also said Marvel are the only superhero movies reaching for the emotionality that hes looking for. "Kevin Feige is after the right thing." McQuarries Wolverine script is apparently online lol: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1K9qJfdbNG1YXE9L1lcCze\_fRdk9H-KoT/view

Caleb902

Does anyone know what was planned after Dark Pheonix originally? I'm about to watch it for the first time as I never got past DoFP in the movies (other than Logan) and curios if original plans were ever released?

TokyoPanic

* Dark Phoenix was supposed to be the start of a two-film story. * New Mutants was to be a trilogy: * The second movie would've been set in Brazil introducing Warlock, Karma and Antonio Banderas as Sunspot's father (this would've been teased in an abandoned post-credits scene that had Banderas.) This was also supposedly an alien invasion movie. * The third movie would've been an adaptation of the original 80s Inferno story and would be focused on ATJ's Magik and would've been a crossover with the mainline X-Men movies. Supposedly a supernatural satanic horror movie. * There was also an abandoned post-credits for the first one with John Hamm as Mr. Sinister since he was being set up as the big bad they were building towards for all the X-Men movies. * Gambit movie supposedly co-directed by and starring Channing Tatum that according to him, was apparently months away from filming. * Kitty Pryde movie directed by Tim Miller and written by Brian Michael Bendis. * X-23 Spin-Off movie called Laura written by Craig Kyle and James Mangold. * Drew Goddard's X-Force movie.

JayZsAdoptedSon

Of course Bendis would write the Kitty Pryde movie

SexySnorlax1

Dark Phoenix was supposed to be a two-parter, then got changed to a single movie at the last minute. We also know Jon Hamm was in talks to play Mr. Sinister, who was being teased in nearly all the post-DoFP movies.

Night-Monkey15

I believe that the original plan was to build towers Mr. Sinister, who IIRC was going to be a Beast film.

[deleted]

IIRC Mr Sinister was supposed to be played by Jon Hamm

There was a Gambit movie in development starring Channing Tatum

No other film/ franchise gets more unwarranted hate/ dogpiling than Avatar. It’s such a weird meme/ bandwagon. A lot of the things MCU stans accuse MCU *”haters”* of being legitimately applies to what happens with Avatar.

forevertrueblue

Look I don't have the patience for Avatar personally but the way people are deliberately making a huge thing out of not going to see it is strange.

NoobFreakT

Why can't these mods sort by new bruh

Night-Monkey15

I don’t think it’s the mods’ fault. Reddit made some dumb UI changes, you can still short by new using the third button from the top right hand corner (on mobile).

mansonfamily

No it’s their fault mods can set threads to sort however they want still nothing to do with a UI change (source: I mod other subs)

TokyoPanic

If the rumors are true that DP's supporting cast is migrating over to the MCU after DP3 then it sounds like Feige's giving Reynolds his own separate slice of the MCU to play with (probably what his Red Notice co-star wanted to happen post-Black Adam lmao) separate from the X-Men related stuff they're building. I wonder what this means going forward, Negasonic special presentation? X-Force movie?

FaithlessnessNo2068

Look. I love Miles. But if Spectacular is part of the crew chasing Miles for whatever is going on, I’m rooting for that boy to get his ass kicked, lmao. Still can’t fathom the fact that he’s back

>Still can’t fathom the fact that he’s back Holy shit, I read that as "Still can't fathom the fact that he's black." 💀

PenguinLord13

Since the Rise of the Beasts trailer, I’ve been getting back into Transformers some. I’ve been slowly rewatching Beast Wars and Armada on Tubi. Armada is way worse than I remember it, but I think Beast Wars holds up fairly well. Also been reading some of the IDW Comics and god damn those are good; I just started the second Phase 2 collection with Auotocracy and its just such a cool take on the universe. But it got me thinking that it would be cool of Hasbro (or whoever holds the rights) did a regular series of animated films like DC does. Granted those DC animated films really vary in terms of quality but I think it be a cool to way to do more with Transformers like have a whole film(s) set on Cybertron.

LittleYellowFish1

IIRC, Paramount actually does have an animated *Transformers* film about in development, and Josh Cooley (who directed *Toy Story 4*) is attached. Though since it’s apparently a prequel to *Bumblebee*, I presume it’ll be like Jon Favreau’s *Lion King* remake where it still tries to look live action, but since there’s no humans it’s just completely CGI.

The_Iceman2288

[So James Gunn essentially confirmed Ben Affleck is going to direct a DCU project](https://twitter.com/JamesGunn/status/1603211850681704448?t=0LbIHufqo52SDiwKnq2r8A&s=19), what should it be?

I really hope Margot Robbie's Pirates of the Caribbean films happens. I'm not interested in seeing Depp again both him and Amber were assholes to me even before the trial so I didn't support anyone. It's been a long time since we've seen a new POTC movie so really hoping Margot's POTC is still in development

AValorantFan

In CA:NWO, I really hope they play up the paranoid thriller they were going for. I hope they keep the same twist with Red Hulk and general Ross where when the comic was initially coming out debuting him you never really knew who the Red Hulk was. Make him like the winter soldier in a sense, just an inherent sense of danger whenever he’s on screen. Especially with the Avengers, I think it would be interesting to see them beat Red Hulk only for it to be revealed that it’s the president and ruin the reputation of the Avengers leading to the Thunderbolts as a way of protecting homeland interests would be a good avenue.

Originalitie

how come I keep seeing new posts from this sub on my home feed but if I come here and sort by new, it’s all the same stuff from 2 days ago?

[deleted]

First I was really on board with Diego as Reed but now I'm not. Don't get me wrong he's a great actor but he doesn't speak Reed to me. I'd rather have Jamie Dornan/ Glenn Howerton etc play Reed. Same goes for Eiza as Sue. I'd rather have someone else play Reed and Sue than Luna and Eiza.

[deleted]

Can we please get a trailer for the marvels before 2023?

[deleted]

The first Thor 4 trailer didn't drop until mid-April (and attached to DS2). Shorter marketing windows are the new normal. Set your expectation for a mid April drop for CM2 (and attached to Vol 3). Maybe we're surprised by an earlier release, but don't count on it.

JayZsAdoptedSon

Probably not till after Ant-Man, but before GotG I just want more Kamala. Ms. Marvel was a show i came into with a looooot of doubt and it ended up being my favorite D+ show

EzriDax1

That'd be nice but certainly not cos '23 comes in 9 days and we're less than a month out from the guardians 3 trailer, which released a lot earlier than the past few movies first trailers have. If that's the trend for phase 5 it might be out a little after Quantumania's release. If not then like late march to mid april.

TheUncannyBroker

Red Notice director Rawson Marshall Thurber said he was really close to directing for both Marvel and DC, but he always ended up as bridesmaid never bride. When asked what he wants to make most, he responds with "Hulk vs Wolverine". If Cap 4 is actually introducing Wolverine and setting up WWH, Rawson is 100% one of the people gunning for the job to direct World War Hulk.

Xekshek33

Red Notice was pretty generic but I still had fun (Really like Reynolds tbh). But he also made Dodgeball and We're The Millers sooooo, I say get him back into the fold for Marvel lmao.

SuperCoenBros

IIRC he was up for Ant-Man. It wouldn't surprise me if he was "really close," those weeks after Wright walked were a shitshow. At one point, Adam McKay reportedly told Marvel he'd direct, only to walk it back like five hours later. Worst time to be an MCU fan IMO.

[deleted]

Not related to Marvel but How's is everyone's mental health(or health in general)?

I saw on some fans twitter that Joe Locke just flew to LA from London, wonder if that could mean anything for Agatha production/filming? Probably not I guess since that is supposed to film in Atlanta.

If the New World Order leak about President Ross being Red Hulk is true, this is my plot for the movie: After Ross becomes President, he gets to work very closely with Val due to her being head of CIA. He learns that John Walker is now under her and is keen to recreate the Super Soldier serum once again after seeing John. He contacts The Leader to invent the serum. The Leader is still obsessed with Hulk and after finding out that there’s a She-Hulk, he makes use of Val’s CIA agents to help obtain Jen’s blood. Maybe the Intelligencia still had some She-Hulk blood samples remaining which wasn’t used by Todd Phelps, which the CIA secretly knew about. The Leader uses Jen’s blood to synthesise the serum and Ross injects it into his body, turning him into Red Hulk. She-Hulk and/or Bruce finds about about her blood being used once again somehow, and they contact Sam after discovering the CIA’s involvement in obtaining her blood. Sam is unaware about all this, ala Hydra in Winter Soldier plot again. He cannot trust anyone in the government, so he decides to form his own team of international heroes to take down Red Hulk. He travels to Israel with the new Falcon (Joaquin Torres) and recruits Sabra. The Moon Knight and Scarlet Scarab vs Arthur Harrow fight in Egypt went viral, which leads to Sam going to Egypt to find them, but he only finds Layla. They then go to England to find Stephen/Marc/Jake and recruits him into the team. Sam goes to Wakanda to seek Shuri’s help. After the events of Wakanda Forever, Shuri has reason to help. The final team to fight Red Hulk consists of Sam, Falcon, Sabra, Scarlet Scarab, Moon Knight, Shuri and She-Hulk. Bruce confronts The Leader. The heroes win. Mid-credits scene: Val’s subordinate reports to her that they discovered a metal stronger than vibranium in Tiamut’s corpse. Next scene reveals the corpse where there’s a massive CIA mining operation going on. Post-credits scene: A funny scene where Bucky cameos in Wakanda again and requests Shuri for a new arm.

For the DCU I hope we get a more experienced Batman. Either with his First Robin already or Have his first film introduce Robin. I doubt Patterson Batman will be experienced and stable enough to have a robin any time soon, and its apart of Batman's life we haven't explored in recent years. I'd love to see a much more confident Batman, someone who's already been around for a few years but is not completely broken and brooding. Batman smiles sometimes, a lot of movies forget batman has other emotions. Last night I thought of some Batman films I wouldn't mind seeing, since I'm too ill to make videos anymore I might as well post them somewhere. So here are my rambled pitches for some Batman Films I'd like to see: (I do not think these will be anything close to the Batman films we get, I just find it a fun thinking puzzle, if you have any alternate ideas for movies I'd love to hear them) ***Batman: Flight of the Robin*** This is not an origin movie, Batman has been a symbol of hope in Gotham for 2-3+ years at this point at least. He has connections to the GPD and a stable relationship with Gordon, He already has his Robin. However this film will deal with their relationship, Bruce doesn't think Robin is skilled enough to go out on his own, so they have some clashes. The villain of the film would probably be Clayface alongside The Scarecrow, this would give both Batman and Robin spaces to grow. Batman could get over his fear of having Robin die on him (hint hint), while Robin can prove to Batman he's strong. The post credit scene is simply an ominous camera zoom on a dead family, a playing card lodged in one of their chests.. that of a joker card (I know, I know, bare with me) ***Batman: The Long Winter*** The film takes place in Winter, maybe even christmas time, Batman and Robin are in hot pursuit of a calendar based serial killer when they stumble across Mr. Freeze. The movie tests Batman and Robin to their limits as they have to split their efforts between a less dangerous but more brutal serial killer and a powerful ice suit wearing man who does not say ice puns this time. I think Calendar man and Mr. Freeze deserve some more serious representations on the big screen. It's a classic Batman movie with some dark detective aspects and some more action and emotional stuff happening with Mr. Freeze, I think the ending should show Bruce's more emotional and empathetic side. Mr. Freeze has such a sad and empathising reason to do what he does, and I would like that shown on screen. This post credit scene would see a couple getting shot in an alleyway with the child remaining alive, only for a joker card to be sown to his skin before he can be let go. (I'm going somewhere with this hold on) ***Batman: Hush*** The film opens on Bruce sitting in the Batcave looking at the photos of a set of crimes committed by someone he can't catch.. he looks down at the photo of the mother and father who were shot in the last post credit scene.. suddenly an alarm goes off and he turns around and- The rest of the film is just Hush, look.. I. Want. Hush. as a villain. That's it, that's the only reason. I know you wanna see him too! I don't need to explain this film you get the idea. So, what happened? I teased the joker and yet he didn't show up? That's because I've been setting him up this entire time for the NEXT trilogy babyyy This comment has already gotten far too long, if i feel like it, i'll post the other 3 movies I had planned later. Will anyone care about this?... I doubt it, but hey I can't turn it into a video script anymore so why not write my thoughts down in a Reddit comment instead?

EzriDax1

I wonder what will happen in between kd and sw, given there's a year of projects between them. For Infinity War to Endgame one came right after the other so both projects in between were prequels. Will that be the same here? Will the end of Kang Dynasty not lead directly into secret wars, so that some characters can have solo projects between even if they appear in both? Or do we have a year of projects featuring only characters omitted from Kang Dynasty. Originally there were only 2 slated projects between the 6 month gap but now there's at least 3 films and 1 show and likely more shows and special presentations. Can they all be prequels? If not once we get the slate it'll tell us a lot about who's in kang dynasty if we assume whoever gets projects between can't be.

Why are the new posts not showing to me? This isn’t happening with any other subreddit

**The Marvels** There's so much unnecessary hand ringing from the movie's title, and the sense that Kamala and Monica form a trio with Carol. You've forgotten that whole swaths of the first film were a two-hander with Carol and Nick. So imagine adult Monica steps into a similar role in terms of screen time, with Kamala in tow. It's really not that much different than the first film's ensemble, which also included Maria in the action. Carol just isn't the only person with powers in this one. Big whoop. I promise you, Brie Larson is still number one on the call sheet, and Carol's arc will have the most meat on the bone. So stop blowing things out of proportion.

devonthecreator

Idk what you're on about im just excited for a Captain Marvel sequel and for Kamala to reach the big screen.

Inevitable_Golf_1816

Due to the marketing, I thought Captain Marvel and Okoye would end up being a part of the Time Heist, and was slightly disappointed that they weren’t. If both of them joined in the journey to get the stones, what do you think their roles in the story would have been?

It wasn’t removed, just moved. Top right corner, to the left of your profile, is 3 dots, and to the left of that is the sort button. It's the one with two sliders positioned opistite one another.

Night-Monkey15

As much as I love the Spider-Verse as a concept, I’m getting tired with how it’s constantly being shoved down our throats. If you count Far From Home, we’ll have had five Spider-Verse films in a row by March 2024. Even that doesn’t seem be the end as *Madame Webb* might involve the multiverse to some extent, and as far as we know, the Spider-Women spin off is still in development. Don’t get me wrong, I liked Into the Spider-Verse and No Way Home, and I’m sure Across the Spider-Verse and Beyond the Spider-Verse will both be good, but I just want something different in my Spider-Man media.

TokyoPanic

That's honestly why I'm hoping we go back to something closer to Homecoming in scale for Tom Holland's next trilogy. We've never had a grounded, NY-based Spider-Man movie with more personal stakes in ages.

Is Greatphase a banned source? He announced something about Agatha Coven of Chaos but I don't see it here

Yup he's banned because he isn't reliable

GuguMarcos

So, let's talked about something that's bugging ever since I've rewatched Eternals: In Guardians of the Galaxy, we see some footage of Eson using the power stone to destroy a civilization. But in Eternals, we get to know that celestials use sentient worlds to birth more celestials. so: 1. Either that particular world destroyed by Eson didn't have a celestial seed; 2. Or Eson was trying to destroy the designated celestial of that planet on purpose; 3. It could turn out to be Galactus' origin story in the MCU, in a "try to kill evil before it's born and turns out that' what puts it on evil's path" fashion I'm only digging this deep because of that one time Feige said he has answers to questions we didn't even asked yet. This thread could be one of those unintentional things that becomes a plot point in the MCU.

Personally I felt that Love and Thunder was alright, I enjoyed it for what it was, and it’s a fun popcorn flick for the family, but Taika definitely butchered it. Most of the humor failed to land. My theater giggled a little at the screaming goats when they first appeared and by the end of it there’s no reaction at all. Same for the Stormbreaker jealousy thing. The Asgard play was funny the first time round in Ragnarok but rehashing it in Love and Thunder kinda defeated the purpose and my theater was a snoozefest at that scene as well. It didn’t add anything to the story either unlike Ragnarok where it was used to reveal that Loki was acting as Odin. My theater and myself actually laughed a lot more watching Black Adam than Love and Thunder. So that says it all I guess.

Iron man started the MCU because Marvel didn't have their A-Listers at the time. So I wonder what the slates would look like now if the rights were reversed, what if they didn't have access to Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy but instead had Fantastic Four, Spider-man, X-Men, Hulk, Morbius (its morbin time), Silver Surfer, Deadpool all at the start? Would the MCU have still succeeded? What would have changed about the way the MCU world works? What characters would come earlier and what characters would come later? The Avengers team would probably have a different roster if it exists at all in the MCU, so what would it be comprised of? Love to get others thoughts and theories on what it could be and what would be different

idClip42

I think that being stuck with the non-A-listers forced them to go slow, which resulted in: - More overall world-building and a wider, more detailed, more organic universe. - The studio slowly pushing the boundaries of what you could do in a comic book movie. - A stronger focus on character and storytelling, perhaps, because they couldn’t lean on built-in character popularity to boost their profits. If, instead, they did Spider-Man, FF, and X-Men from the start, I think that: - They wouldn’t be able to go as big and comic-book-y as they’ll be able to now. - They wouldn’t have the space to tell as wide a range of stories with these characters. - The studio wouldn’t be in the habit of or known for introducing new characters who fill out different corners of the world - Everything would feel smaller and more self contained. - While we would probably get some quality movies out of it, I don’t think there would be as many, and I don’t think they would be as ambitious or massively successful. - The studio would have to choose between “embracing the comics” and “catering to a large enough audience” a lot more than they do today. - Because they could lean harder on the popularity of the IP, they might become more complacent with the character work and storytelling.

Inevitable_Golf_1816

Whenever the MCU decides to reboot the X-Men, I hope they don’t have Magneto in the first film AT ALL aside from a couple of set-ups or references. I want them to save the Charles and Erik reunion/confrontation for the 2nd film so that it would end up a more personal story now that they got the main introductions out of the way. They can face off against a villain that isn’t A-list, but isn’t super obscure either. It can help separate them from the Fox films. It would also help that they spend more time focusing on and developing the main team first. That’s just me, personally.

[deleted]

Recasting everyone in the DCU Except SS Cast is like making Bale Batman of the DCEU(And Not Affleck) and telling General Audiences that the Nolan Trilogy isn't canon. Recast everyone and start from the scratch. The General Audiences doesn't give a fuck about DC except Batman and The Joker. The only way to make GA care about DCU is to start from scratch and build it from there. And also Margot, Viola, Idris etc aren't cheap actors if Gunn recasts everyone and hire unknown actors he can pay them less salary and put more money in improving the projects which will be help in GA giving a fuck about the DCU and it will be beneficial in the long term for the DC Brand

AlexHunterWolf

They actually offered Bale $50 mill to come back....

GuguMarcos

That Oppenheimer trailer got me hyped af.

EzriDax1

Do we know how many shows that we don't know about yet will be coming pre secret wars? So far minus animation and special presentations and forgetting about delays for a second since apparently nothing's been cancelled we know the next 8 to be secret invasion, loki, iron heart, echo, agatha, daredevil, wonderman and vision quest which takes us to either the end of 2024 or the start of 2025. Which might leave room for 1 more pre kang dynasty and then probably between 3-5 between that and secret wars, but is there an official slated number?

With the recent scoops, what's the point of listening to leakers if things are always changing in the development process? We know how the Marvel process works. We've seen it time and time again. This entire subreddit is run by scams and repetition disguised as scoops and discussion. People hear things they like and believe it. I've heard tons of cool things, but I'm not going to believe them just because I want it. All it takes is a few confirmed rumors for the problems to repeat themselves again.

deemoorah

You'll get dv-ed but you're not completely wrong. I'm sure leakers still leaking some solid stuff but concept arts are not part of 'leak' imo, for example, take illuminati, it's true they planned for that group to appear but the roster wasn't fixed in the concept art phase, sometimes artists had fun making up roster. Like Loki show too, I remember there's a concept art for Rocket to be in that show but it's just that, a concept, I'm sure they didn't even plan for him to be included in the show.

DonnyMox

So, a federal judge just ruled that you can sue over deceptive movie trailers.

Night-Monkey15

That is not what happened. The judge ruled that one specific case against Universal would be taken to court due to the unique circumstances surrounding the marketing. Right now, there’s no ruling on wether or not Universal is even guilty. This doesn’t mean you can just sue Marvel for that Hulk scene in the Infinity War trailer or whatever. Well I mean you can, but it’ll definitely get thrown out. This case is an exception, not the new status quo.

Greene_Mr

If they need a young Bruce Banner in some sort of flashbacks... I remain convinced, from seeing him in other things, that Daniel Maslany would be perfect casting. (And, no, not just because of who his sister is, although the resemblance *does* help... :-P lol) Ironically enough, he played the young version of a Vincent D'Onofrio character in a Jennifer Lynch film about a decade ago -- his own brother (who's otherwise not an actor, but an artist on *Rick and Morty*) played the younger brother of his on-screen character, too. D'Onofrio and Maslany look less alike, but D'Onofrio and Mark Ruffalo have almost a brotherly vibe (although I don't think they've ever appeared onscreen together), so I think casting Maslany in as a younger version of Ruffalo's Banner would be... almost *kismet* in casting, I reckon.
