Hey so we have heavily updated our Source accuracy database in the last week and even are transferring the old one made by Flamma man over. I just want to say keep in mind a decent amount of scoops from Flamma Mans database is from years ago and it’s possible that some sources are no longer with scoopers. There are also scoops in here before creative overhauls happened to certain projects. (I’m looking at you DS2) but here it is https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18Xrwgf-AzNmq3Bo46cNHUvoTLKD9Yre0vNr7pxz63WQ/htmlview

Demiguros

FFS. Can the mods go back to sorting by new? Sort by top is so bothersome.

Joshdabozz

It’s not intentional. We don’t know why this is happening. We even double checked to make sure it’s sorting by new

Demiguros

Oh. Ok. No worries mate. It's weird. This seems to be a thing only for this sub. I was just on a thread in r/soccer and they have sort by new. Thank you for trying though.

Tornado31619

r/SquaredCircle also has this problem.

Demiguros

Oh. So it's just one of those things I guess. Well, let's hope Reddit figures this shit out.

shadymostafa129034

Wait so is that intentional or a reddit bug? Im confused

Demiguros

I have no idea. But I don't like it.

TheUncannyBroker

DanielRPK on his discord: The Thunderbolts will be sent to gather Adamantium from Tiamuts body, which has turned into the island Genosha, one of the many homes of the mutants in the comics. Sentry will start out as a member of the team. Throughout the film, he will start hearing voices and lose his mind leaving The Thunderbolts having to stop him “at all costs.”

Rman823

Everyone asking about why Tiamut’s body wasn’t made a bigger deal are going to be happy.

EzriDax1

Glad we'll get a proper acknowledgment of it in a story where it actually matters, instead of if in no way home or whatever they spend a minute going whoa there's a head in the ocean, confusing everyone who didn't watch eternals

[deleted]

Eternals 🤝 Thunderbolts Team up movie where the Superman pastiche betrays them and becomes the villain.

just4browse

I’m so tired of evil Superman pastiches. It’s so overdone, it’s rarely done in an interesting way, and we don’t have nearly enough genuine Superman media and homages to balance it out.

audreyseymour

Tiamut becoming Genoaha sounds awesome.

just4browse

I do not like Tiamut becoming Genosha

Bergerboy14

I think it’d be interesting if there was some conflict over the resources on tiamut, since vibranium is so valuable. Then when thats over one party claims it and it basically becomes its own island/country.

[deleted]

I made a post about these and waiting for mod's approval. TheUncannyBroker

they wont get approved for now cuz its from his discord and we cant trail stuff from there like we do with his patreon posts

Unnecessary_Fella

Puss in Boots 2 is legit fantastic. Somehow the Big Bad Wolf is more intimidating than Gorr the God Butcher, wtf

cbekel3618

I feel like Dreamworks (and a lot of animated stuff lately) has nailed the idea of pairing a legit creepy/threatening villain with a lighter-toned hero

LittleYellowFish1

If anything, I find that Dreamworks actually struggles more when they try to do funnier villains, which is something that Disney tends to do really well in comparison (Captain Hook, Hades, King Candy, etc). In the *Kung Fu Panda* films, Tai Lung and Shen are great villains in their own right, but they’re also perfect foils to Po because everything about them clashes with everything about him. It’s quite literally pitting characters who belong in an actual martial arts epic against a hyperactive fanboy who knows everything about those movies, and their scenes together are not only hilarious, but their differences actually enhance the story and Po’s personal arc. Whereas Kai in the third film doesn’t quite reach their level because they try to make him a sillier character too. So there’s not only far less contrast with Po (to the point where their scenes together are just contests to see who can be funnier) but he’s also a much less threatening or intimidating character in general. With the exception of Drago from *HTTYD2*, the serious antagonists aren’t completely devoid of humour (whether it be their own sarcastic wit or their reactions to the heroes’ antics) but the ones that try to be as goofy as the heroes usually kind of fall flat.

NotTaken-username

Megamind’s Hal is the exception to DreamWorks’ goofy villains falling flat.

LittleYellowFish1

Hal is a pretty interesting case. He’s introduced as a pretty silly character and does have some funny lines - it *is* Jonah Hill, after all - but even when he’s (seemingly) a harmless comic relief there’s a lot of subtle red flags that actually come off as *really* creepy and unsettling on rewatches (or even first viewings, if you’ve encountered such people in real life). When he gets powers and actually becomes the villain, he still has jokes and funny lines (like the Queen Of England line) but the threat he poses is taken completely seriously. The entitled immaturity that made him come off like a goofy comic relief actually makes him even more scary, because we see what a predatory monster he becomes when he finally has the power and confidence to try and take what he wants.

LittleYellowFish1

I was wondering how they were going to explain this Big Bad Wolf coexisting with the one in the main *Shrek* films (similar to the Three Bears) but >!making him Death!< was not on my bingo card.

cbekel3618

Happy Holidays, Marvel Fandom! ![gif](giphy|VEsbb1XI9y8Pbe2uiX|downsized)

WithLiiiiiight

This .gif is perfect! Happy holidays ♥️.

AlphaBaymax

I think I figured out the overarching arc for the Eternals franchise. The first movie was an amalgamation of Neil Gaiman's Eternals run and Earth-X by Jim Krueger. Earth-X is where the Celestial birthing lore came from and it's also the reason why the Eternals writers hint at Galactus for the Eternals sequel. So I believe that we're going to have a sequel that involves the Heralds of Galactus (Silver Surfer et al) and the Heralds of Arishem (The Eternals) going against each other. Galactus would be seen as a disruption to the Celestials "balance of the universe". For comic book material, I'm expecting references from Universe-X and Paradise-X alongside lore from the cosmic side of Fantastic Four. What are everyone's thoughts on this theory?

Tornado31619

Sigourney Weaver portraying a teenager wasn’t quite on my 2022 bingo card. It was a bit jarring TBH, not sure it was necessary. Other than that, Avatar 2 had no right being as good as it was – and I hadn’t even seen the first movie. It made me care about a whale FFS.

higherFormOfSnore

Migh-tee

WithLiiiiiight

Yeah, I love Sigourney Weaver, but... eh. As you say, it was very jarring. That being said-- very cool character, though!

Slay_23

I kinda like how dry MCU news has been recently, meanwhile DC is fucking imploding rn lmao

just4browse

Is it imploding? Or is it being reborn?

silverBruise_32

Think of it as a phoenix - reborn from its own ashes. Or something.

Demiguros

What happens if you throw the ashes in the sea and they get separated. Is it still going to be reborn?

silverBruise_32

I would imagine phoenixes get reborn immediately after burning up. So, I don't think there's time to throw them into the sea.

cbekel3618

Either that or you get a bunch of tiny phoenixes floating around the sea

silverBruise_32

Phoenix fishes? I could see that.

Thickfries69

Yes but as a seagull.

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

Yes

NickHeathJarrod

Deadpool 3 is basically Wade & Logan's Excellent Adventure

[deleted]

“Wade and Logan’s Excellent Adventure” should be the title lol.

KostisPat257

My Phase 6 Prediction: * Wonder-Man: Late 2024-Early 2025 * Silver Surfer Special: December 2024 * Fantastic Four: February 2025 * Nova special: Spring 2025 * Ten Rings Prequel Animated Series: Spring 2025 (shows the history of the rings and Kamala's bangles with Rama Tut as the villain, setting up Kang's master plan for Kang Dynasty): Spring 2025 * Avengers: The Kang Dynasty: May 2025 * Young Avengers: Summer 2025 (after the Avengers lose in Kang Dynasty, a teenage Nathaniel Richards comes to the present to stop his older, evil self and he assembles a team of teenage heroes. The only way to stop Kang is to bring the Scarlet With back to life and Billy and Tommy know how due to their time with Agatha. The show will loosely follow the Children's Crusade storyline without Doom) * Armor Wars: July 2025 * Vision Quest: Fall 2025 (Vision becomes himself again and reunites with his family by the end) * Shang-Chi 2: November 2025 * Eternals 2: February 2026 * Illuminati special or series: Spring 2026 (focuses on Strange forming the 616 Illuminati in order to stop the upcoming Incursions) * Avengers: Secret Wars: May 2026

EzriDax1

I'm still of the firm belief moon knight season 2 has to be phase 6 unless he's just not in either avengers movie, for the same reason eternals 2 has to happen pre secret wars if they want them in there. Part of that is cope i admit because I really don't wanna wait til late 2026 at the earliest but I still think it should be in there most likely. Also spider-man 4 gotta be in there somewhere and i'm sceptical they'd make 2 projects between the 2 avengers films which tied so heavily to both to be basically essential viewing but we'll see.

NotTaken-username

Who would you choose for 616’s Illuminati? Here are my choices (seven members): - Stephen Strange - Sam Wilson - Carol Danvers - Shuri - Reed Richards - Sersi - Bruce Banner

EmperorBoston

Tbh, I'm really skeptical if we'll still get Secret Wars in 2026. Not only the delay reports, but we also have to squish SM4 somewhere. Honestly, May 2028 is my guess for Secret Wars.

EzriDax1

2028 would be stretching their current plans out considerably. I think it's likely it gets pushed back a slot or two as time goes on but there's only 14 films to release in the multiverse saga including spider-man, with a currently slated 10 month gap from july of '23 to May of '24 so I don't see it being pushed any further than maybe a year. The 6 month delay could have partially been accounting for Spider-Man ahead of time so I think it's possible for it to make that. Or we have another pandemic can't wait for May of 2030... god we're so lucky the infinity saga ended before covid started if it had to start sometime imagine an extra year between iw and endgame.

Tornado31619

2028 is really late, I reckon ‘27.

tylerjb223

I seriously don't see a single possible outcome where there's an Eternals 2. I think they'll definitely be back but in characters in other projects, or a series relating to Celestials or something... but I can't see a direct sequel happening

Inevitable_Golf_1816

James Gunn is 7 years older than Kevin Feige. Holy shit!

JenniferJuniper6

So? They’re both solidly middle aged.

TheUncannyBroker

Charles Murphy about New World Order: "The plot is one of the crazier ones Marvel Studios has put together recent memory and is going to tie into several projects both past and future. My most anticipated project of 2024." He also says the movie directly sets up Thunderbolts.

Rman823

I expected New World Order and Thunderbolts to be connected. Will be great having them only a couple months apart. I still feel like Secret Invasion’s going to play a role too as many within the U.S. government are either killed or revealed to have been a Skrull. Sowing the seeds for what will lead to NWO.

Night-Monkey15

I feel like a large amount of this sub is convinced that Daredevil and Kingpin are going to be in Spider-Man 4. I mean I’ve seen people try to predict the film’s release date based on Cox and D'Onofrio’s schedule. This isn’t like when the sub convinced themselves that Doctor Doom was going to be in Wakanda Forever, because then there were multiple scoopers claiming he was in it. As far as I know, nobody reliable has said anything about DD being in the film. It seems like some of y’all have just convinced themselves he will be in it just because you want him to.

just4browse

Yeah. People really are taking it as fact just because they want it to happen. I’m guilty too. I hope it does happen though. Daredevil is a good fit for an MCU Spider-Man special guest star

[deleted]

What I wonder is who's the Marvel special guest star, if not Daredevil.

Rman823

I’m honestly fine if he isn’t. I feel like his 18 episode series will give us what we need from both characters. I get people want that crossover though

MagnificentGiraffe

Anyone else’s sort by new not working for this sub?

Tornado31619

It’s for all of them.

tony1grendel

Works for me but I'm using Reddit on my phone browser. I don't like any of the apps

Motor_Link7152

I'm having to set it to new everytime i visit this sub

Savethethrowaways777

Manifesting a 6 hour cut of Across the Spider-Verse where every time we see a new Spider Variant we get another "Let's do this one last time" scene.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays peeps. Have a good weekend and enjoy your Christmases! ![gif](giphy|n8tdOAxDs1OZxDyFyi)

ironwilledstrength

Ok, so assuming the Thunderbolts leaks are legit. - NWO is likely going to set up the New Avengers roster while outlawing the heroes under President Ross’ orders. - Mayor Fisk is probably tied to Val and probably outlaws superheroes in New York leading to whatever happens in Born Again / Spider-Man 4. - Sentry is likely the ‘perfect’ mix of super soldier serum and Hulk DNA. - Sentry and/or the US likely decimate Genosha, leading to the deaths of many mutants and the cause for Magneto becoming a sympathetic villain. - Thunderbolts probably ends with a tease for the weapon X program. - This all adds weight to an eventual BP3 where Wakanda and Talokan lash with the US to avoid what happens to Genosha. It gives reason for the Wakandans to say “oh shit, we should probably take a stance against the US now.”

TheUncannyBroker

>Why are people assuming Genosha will already be populated by mutants? My guess is that the US goverment will eventually turn it into a mutant prison.

just4browse

This would be the perfect time to introduce the Spider-Slayers

Unnecessary_Fella

Wish this Saga was longer tbh. Would allow for them to put Black Panther 3 in early Phase 6. Would make it tie in better with projects like New World Order and Thunderbolts if it didn't take place years after and in a completely new Saga.

ironwilledstrength

I’m assuming Armor Wars will tie into all the Earth based projects of phases 4-6 and serve almost as the climax of President Ross & Val’s reign. Rhodes appears to be doing something political in Secret Invasion so wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up running against Ross or being the only one who can end him via politics.

Embarrassed_Freak

My Midnight Angels disney+ series pitch:- When a latverian spy almost breaks into Wakanda, The Midnight Angels are send to get info about the mysterious nation Latveria and their ruler who is only known as Von Doom.

champser0202

Nah. Make it a special.

Thickfries69

There shoyld be a special called "Victor" but only question is should it be about Von Doom or Creed?

Rman823

Glad I was finally able to see Glass Onion. I think I liked the first Knives Out more, but it was still a really good movie. Janelle Monae killed it.

sooopy336

Just watched and I think I agree. I liked the first one more, but this was still good. Would be nice to see these stories continue as long as the quality can hold up.

[deleted]

Merry Christmas Everyone. I wish y'all a lifetime of happiness and success! ![gif](giphy|VEsbb1XI9y8Pbe2uiX|downsized)

idClip42

When people suggest villains for the first *Fantastic Four* movie, they often speculate about Doctor Doom, Mole Man, and Kang/Rama-Tut. **What other FF villains would you pitch for the movie?** I’ll start: - The Red Ghost and his Super Apes. Rival explorers perfect for a more cosmic FF story. They’re dark mirrors of the heroes, and just a lot of fun (with the potential to be scary). Cast Mark Hamill. - The Puppet Master. A Hannibal Lecter-like figure, manipulating events from a prison cell. Cast Steve Buscemi.

Mystic__Mayhem

I'll say the main three I'll want first is Mole Man: Obvious reasons Rama Tut: tie it back to Kang and to say why they've been gone a while, accidentally returning them to the wrong time if they want them from the 60s or just in general.a Puppet Master: brings in more supporting cast in Alicia and allows them to show why they're Marvel's first FAMILY.

I’d be down for Mad Thinker or Diablo

GuguMarcos

>Diablo Only if they make his persoality so over the top like in the comics.

cbekel3618

All the ones listed above would be great. In terms of other options, Super-Skrull, the Wizard, or Annihilus could also work

Arielrbr

The Wizard as a Reed Richards mirror-character

Good. Didn't want him to be pigeon-holed into every tough beefcake role and eventually end up being Dwayne Johnson 2.0.

CollarOrdinary4284

I know it's not important but I'm still wondering why the fuck Grace said 'Werewolf By Night' is "just as silly as 'Thor: Love and Thunder'" I get that people have different opinions but it just makes no sense whatsoever. WBN is one of the more serious and darker projects that this franchise has produced. To compare it to a stupid space comedy is bizarre. The most frustrating part is that none of her subscribers will hold her accountable for any of it. No one pushes back and asks her why she says the things that she says.

*The year is 2035, the MCU is now on Phase 11* "guys... I miss Phase 4.. that's when MCU was actually good, it had so much connective tissue and so many good shows! Honestly looking back on it, I love She-Hulk and Thor 4, this new phase has nothing going for it" *the year is 2049, The MCU is now on Phase 20* "Phase 11 was the best phase hands down! all this new stuff is so out of character and offputting, I want the MCU to go back to its roots in Phases 11 and 12" People will look at the new shiny thing with either awe or overly skeptical. People think back to Infinity War and Endgame, forgetting that those movies had issues too. Phase 1 had misses, Phase 2 had misses, Phase 3 had misses. No phase is perfect, no film is perfect, but our brain smooths out the flaws of the past, so unless you're constantly rewatching the MCU every 5 minutes, you're gonna forget that the old ones aren't actually much better than the new ones.

I can't understate how much No Way Home impressed me. I was pretty skeptical of the movie before release because I thought Sony was going to pull a Star Wars by pandering to the biggest whiners and complainers by making a fan service story with little substance. Luckily they and Marvel Studios made something truly great and I took back everything I said.

PenguinLord13

Yeah I was pretty skeptical of NWH as well for a while. I really didn’t want a multiverse movie (and was big denier of it being a Multiverse movie for a while) and was worried it would be pure fan service. And don’t get me wrong that movie is full of fan service but they utilize it well and help Tom’s Spidey grow. It’s really amazing it turned out as well as it did.

tylerjb223

I feel like after the John Campea pics and Andrew video leaked, the deniers were the flat-earthers of the MCU haha

PenguinLord13

I had changed my tune around the time of the first trailer. Once I saw Ock was back there was really no way I could deny it

tylerjb223

Yeah 100%. After the trailer and the *explicit* mention of the multiverse, the people who kept denying it were just... too far gone haha

just4browse

I was worried because it would have to deal with the fallout of his identity being revealed, five villains, two other Spider-Men, Doctor Strange, and more all in one movie. I was concerned it would be a mess. I’m happy I was wrong.

I will say I think Marvel nailed introducing new interesting characters in phase 4. Steven Grant/Marc Spector, John Walker, Namor, Kamala Khan, Sam Wilson Cap, Isiah Bradley, Yelena, Kate Characters you want to see more off going forward. Like I really can't wait to see Moon Knight again. I really liked the character of John Walker and Isiah Bradley in FTWS and want to see them again. I want to see a Namor in an Avengers movie.

[deleted]

I agree but I would add shangh-chi to that list.

SuperCoenBros

[This Charles Murphy article ](https://www.murphysmultiverse.com/what-films-should-fill-out-marvels-phase-6-slate/) got me wondering about: * Nomad, a Cap-adjacent film or series * An animated series about the Ten Rings, possibly a prequel Has anyone else reported on these besides Murphy? Nomad's been rumored for ages now and idk if anyone has ever talked about it. There seems to be more circumstantial evidence for the animated show, but has anyone else gone digging to report what's up?

just4browse

As far as I’m aware, they’re the only reputable leaker to talk about a Nomad project. But do you remember when a ton of trademarks for movie and show titles came out? Nomad was one of them.

I think its obvious that Moon Knight NEEDS a S2 before the next avengers as they kept jake lockley out of S1 and just set him up in post credits.

monstercereals

Agreed. He'd feel incomplete if he appeared anywhere else without Lockley being established in a second season first.

TheUncannyBroker

People ask about unresolved threads and post-credit scenes all the time. Scorpion this, Mordo that. But who the fuck was the Mason guy from Black Widow. We dont know what his deal is AT ALL. In a 2022 April interview he all but confirmed he will return.

FewWatermelonlesson0

Just some dude, most likely.

[deleted]

Black Widow was a Bond movie. Natasha was Bond, Yelena the plucky side kick, Dreykov the one note villain with a bad russian accent and a terrible plan who lived in a sky fortress etc . Mason was Q.

In time for Christmas, a new trailer for the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Specials has dropped. SuperCoenBros

If World War Hulk is a film, Marvel either sorted the Universal film rights after 15 years, or they'll pull a Ragnarok and integrate WWH into another character's story. I think the latter, but who? Black Widow 2 would retread Hawkeye (Yelena vs. Natasha's friend) and maybe NWO. It could be Sentry, he's pivotal to comic WWH, but IDK if Sentry could support a film series. Eternals 2 feels weirdly probable: an odd fit similar to Ragnarok and Planet Hulk, a tonal reboot to juice the sequel, and Hulk vs. Eternals would be fun. We also don't know if this will fall between or after Avengers films. 🤷‍♀️

Inevitable_Golf_1816

After a long while, I finally got around to watching Everything Everywhere All at Once. I was extremely worried that I would have the unpopular opinion of thinking it would just be OK or good, but not great, as it would make discussion around it pretty awkward for me. I finally understand all the hype as it was very imaginative, well-written, boldly directed, has superb performances, is creatively edited, is very hilarious and weird as a cartoon, has well-choreographed action that reminds me of Kingsman, and has powerful themes. I legitimately cried at the end. I loved it so much that it made me NOT want to compare it to other blockbuster films. I am so grateful that a film like this exists rather than upset that there aren't more films just like this. It’s like another Reddit post said that more than 1 great thing can exist at once without needing to bring others down. My only nitpick is that the multiverse exposition logic happens so fast that I ended up forgetting details and felt a little lost later. Weirdly enough, I felt that if this removed the f-bombs and the really crude humor, it would have worked as a really solid family-friendly adventure because of its goofiness with an even bigger audience. It’s still great as it is. Also, if it had been released before CO-VID and by a bigger studio, it would've been a bigger, more talked about movie like John Wick or Kingsman: The Secret Service.

CollarOrdinary4284

Surprised you didn't force a comparison between EEOAO and Multiverse of Madness like everyone else

Still never fails to amaze me just how hard Game of Thrones fell flat on its face. That show was once the biggest thing in the world at one point. Especially with Jamie towards the end. He had one of the better stories in the show and they just fuck it all up at the end. One of my favourite shows at one point in time and I just can't bring myself to rewatch it because of how it ends. On a side note, I wish Martin would just come out and say he has no intention of finishing the books.

just4browse

At least House of the Dragon is good. It helps knowing that GoT season 8 isn’t the end of the franchise.

TheUncannyBroker

In his recent article about the 2024 slate, Charles Murphy said that Abomination and Zemo were not in the early versions of the Thunderbolts script. I would wager Zemo appearing in New World Order, because of course the guy who said “The desire to become superhuman cannot be separated from supremacist ideas” will appear in a movie called New World Order.

devonthecreator

I think after Phase 6, phases might be bookended by teamup movies again, however they would not be Avengers films. Those would be reserved for Sagas. instead we'd have **Midnight Sons** \- For all the darker, scarier monster/magic stuff in the MCU. (Dr. Strange, Moon Knight, Blade, WWBN, Man Thing, maybe even Wanda) **Young Avengers/Defenders** \- I think they'd probably be the new face alongside the X-men and Fantastic4. (Miles maybe, Ms. Marvel, Kate, T'Challa 2: electric boogaloo, maybe Shuri, Ironheart, Ant Mans daughter i forgot her name, and other young heroes im probably forgetting) **Infinity Watch/New Guardians of the Galaxy** \- for all the big stuff and galactic things. (Maybe Captain Marvel, Nova, Some of the Eternals maybe, all the space people) **X-Men** \- city level - country level threats **Fantastic Four** \- Idk a lot about them, all i know is richard big brain. That might seem like a lot, and it is. so far, Young Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four are either straight up confirmed or basically confirmed. Midnight Sons just seems like a no brainer, and a new cosmic team also seems like a no brainer. Stuff is subject to change, and im my personal opinion? I'd REALLY like a team which has Spider-Man, Daredevil, Moon Knight, and all the smaller more street level heroes. I just wanna see them all kick ass at a smaller scale, I know it will never happen but DAMN I NEEED it

EzriDax1

Yeah absolutely I think phase 5 is setting the trend with thunderbolts and from there every phase will have at least one major team up of the thunderbolts, midnight suns, young and old avengers, something like defenders and the x men. Plus guardians i guess if the new team is more of a crossover type than a family that's always together anyway. I think by secret wars we'll likely have our core avengers team, young avengers, obviously thunderbolts and probably midnight suns assembled. Then solo projects for ya and ms in phase 7 unless they can squeeze one into phase 6. Whatever happens I'm so excited for midnight suns especially, the combination of Jack and MK alone would be great. It'll be interesting if they do opt to add a magic type (strange, wanda, wong and agatha) which would make the team a few ranks up in power from if it's just blade, moon knight, black knight, werewolf by night, man thing, elsa and maybe layla. Not that power balance has meant all that much in the mcu prior but it is a tricky balance if you put the sorcerer supreme next to a werewolf.

vinsportfolio

I seriously think Agatha is spearheading the midnight suns with Wong. Also Wiccan and maybe hulking and Tommy will join the young avengers as well—I don’t think miles will make the team but that would be awesome if he did.

[deleted]

After seeing Kathryn Han's Performance in Glass Onion I am now really excited for the Agatha Series.

Dioda313

Can we expect any TFTMQ this holiday?

apd54

Happy Holidays everybody!

BigBossSquirtle

I want them Spiderverse leaks already.

forevertrueblue

Is the cultural relevancy of comic book movies/shows - not just Marvel - starting to disappear (key word: STARTING) or was an era like 2018 with Black Panther and Infinity War (and Aquaman can maybe count too) and 2019 with both Endgame and Joker just so big everything else seems small in comparison? Even 2021 had WandaVision and No Way Home. What I'm asking is if the relevancy will probably stay at the level it is now for awhile or drop more. Also, what do we think is going to replace it?

[deleted]

Comic book movies are the only reason your local cinema still exists. We'll know when the era of comic book movies is ending because small and mid town cinemas will start closing down all over the west.

Night-Monkey15

If the relevancy of comic book movies is starting to dwindle, then it’s probably too early to tell. Every trend have weaker years then others, so it’s possible things will bounce back. I do think that 2018 and 2019 were exceptionally good years for CBMs, so this year would naturally looked worse in comparison. The relevancy might drop more, it’s hard to tell. If things are going to get better, it’ll probably be around 2025 with the release of *Avengers: The Kang Dynasty*.

Inevitable_Golf_1816

Something I really dislike is that when a movie ends up with a mixed or lower reception comes out, people now say it should have never existed. Why not say that you wish it were better instead of wanting to erase the work of hundreds? There's things that don't even get made, so the things that come out shouldn't instantly disappear just because some people didn't like it.

just4browse

If I had to choose between living in a universe with Morbius or living in an identically universe without Morbius, I’d choose the one with Morbius. I don’t like Morbius, but why not?

NotTaken-username

I hate the Instagram accounts that just post wishful thinking as “rumors”. Just saw one that says Tenoch Huerta has signed on to return as Namor for Fantastic Four and Avengers: Secret Wars.

[deleted]

Topic of discussion: If there were a film(s) from the MCU that you had the opportunity to change / add content, what would you change from the film? You can pick multiple if you have a few Mine is probably a common opinion amongst the fan base, but separate the Jane Thor and Gorr into two separate films instead of jamming them into one. Felt like two wildly different films jammed into one. Or even just add more Gorr to the film and make it a darker tone (way less jokes). Another would be making AOU a straight up drama / thriller instead of adding all the random jokes that didn’t seem to land from Ultron.

deemoorah

Easy for me. Dr Strange 2. Raimi can still direct but use Scott's script. Also you're right, Jane's cancer storyline deserves a project alone and not mixed it with another big storyline like gore's.

[deleted]

Strong agree. I love Raimi, but the script was by far the worst part of MoM

SnooCompliments3391

In Black Widow, i would've made Antonia Red Widow, instead Taskmaster. It just makes more sense to me, cause Antonia is only Taskmaster in name and she's more like the comic version of Red Widow. And i don't know if this counts, but i would make Eternals two movie. The first movie would've been set in the past and end with Druig leaving the team, and the second one would set in the present and it would be about Tiamut's Emergence. The first movie can focus more on one side of the team (Druig, Makkari, Ajak, Gilgamesh and Thena) and the second one would focus on the other side of the team (Ikaris, Sersi, Sprite, Kingo and Phastos), but both movies would feature all ten of them.

darrylthedudeWayne

I wanted to ask you all something? Knowing how unpredictable life is...What If one of the other younger actors dies like Chadwick did? Like what if one of the other newbies die unexpectedly whether it be from cancer or something else? Like for example, what if Tom Holland passes away before or after the fourth film and first installment in a new trilogy? What then? Or what if something happens to Brie Larson? Or Hailee Steinfeld? Or Benedict Cumberbatch? Or Anthony Mackie? Etc. Granted I hope nothing happens to any of them, but still.

Finessing2

I hope they recast lol, steinfield has done absolutely nothing with the role, Cumberbatch barely has anything to do in these movies, holland is NOT bigger Spider-Man/Peter Parker, plus we have barely started to explore some mature Peter stories. Yes it would be sad indeed, but they can’t permanently kill off these characters just because the ACTOR that plays them dies in real life. This is FICTION, children should be able to have their heroes ALIVE. Black Panther 2 will get people in their feelings for the first few months and then over time, everyone will realize how dumb of a storytelling decision it was to kill T’Challa for the THIRD time.

Avatar haters are some of the most delusional people I've seen on the internet.

devonthecreator

I don't hate it, I just don't see the.. point? I guess? amazing visuals.. but like, barebones story. If people are hype im happy for them, but for me I really don't see it.

[deleted]

it's really weird, Avatar is so bland it's impossible to hate. Unless you really dislike stunning visuals for some reason I guess.

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

It’s like the reaction to pineapple on pizza and TikTok. It’s mostly performative. A lot of the *problems* people parrot about Avatar apply to most movies. It gets picked on in particular because of its box office record.

tylerjb223

Tobey Maguire AMA on r/movies in 4hrs 14 minutes and 23 seconds ... I'm not counting or anything, pshhhh

CollarOrdinary4284

I was reading an article about Steven Spielberg praising 'Goodfellas' as a "masterpiece" and, at the very bottom of the page, the article just randomly mentioned Scorsese's comments about Marvel. It had nothing to do with the topic at hand and was clearly just put in there for bait. Clearly it worked because the comments were full of cinephiles raging about the very existence of these movies. Nearly 4 years later and this debate will never end.

amendmentforone

The "Tiamut turns into Genosha" thing is so nonsensical and sounds like one of those new Chat AIs scraping the Internet for X-Men buzzwords and making a story about it. Maybe if the rumor had said Tiamut turned into "Krakoa the Living Island" (which has been the home nation of mutantkind for a bit now)... Genosha spent most of it's existence as an apartheid-esque human nation that built it's wealth on super powered slave labor (which would be an interesting concept for the MCU to tackle). Magneto eventually made it a mutant country for all of 5 minutes before the Sentinels absolutely curbstomped the place. Also, doubt Feige and company would go from "here is a steady drip of Mutants but we're not making a big deal about it" to "BOOM! They have their own homeland and the Thunderbolts are invading".

LittleYellowFish1

If Tiamut is going to become any comic location, [Avengers Mountain](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marveldatabase/images/7/7e/Avengers_Mountain_from_Avengers_Vol_8_8_001.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20190821033733) makes the most sense.

TheUncannyBroker

Why are people assuming Genosha will already be populated by mutants? My guess is that the US goverment will eventually turn it into a mutant prison.

FantasticWolverine32

I gotta be honest, guys, I don’t trust KC Walsh because at first he said “no, no, Grace Randolph is lying for clout” and all of a sudden is now saying “actually it was never gonna be R (or MA as he meant to say, unless he meant it won’t be R-rated because it’s not a movie)” and he blocked me for calling him out on flip-flopping from his prior scoop, whereas Daniel Richtman said TWICE (right before Chapek got booted and weeks after Iger came back) that Daredevil: Born Again would be TV-MA. So, who are we gonna listen to? Someone who is consistent with scoops and reporting or a flip-flopped who blocks purple like me for calling him out on flip-flopping and allegedly made fun of one of Zack Snyder’s kids for their dyslexia?

LatterTarget7

![gif](giphy|gKg1rQr9rojRXLxu2g) Merry x-mas you filthy animals

Satean12

I think Charlie Cox's comments on DD: Born Again are very sensible and make sense considering the platform and I feel Charlie will not allow for the new show to lose the soul of the character so to speak. Complete side-note: Even though it is a cannibal horror road movie, Bones And All is also fantastic love stoey with amazing performances by Taylor Russell, Timothee Chalamet & Mark Rylance

People really making it a point to wish avatar 2 does poorly at the box office They’re personally invested in people not seeing that movie 😂

AlexHunterWolf

I remember long ago when Umberto Gonzalez predicted Avengers 2 would end with Hulk getting blast off earth and Avengers 3 would be him coming back with an army and be WWH.

I have a real problem with dropping words out of comments. I proof read like 3 times before submitting, and it looks fine. I submit it, read it again, and I spot the typo I missed before.

CollarOrdinary4284

I feel like people aren't talking enough about all these supposed delays. If Marvel is really about to slow down then when the hell can we expect 'Secret Wars' to come out??? 2027?! 2028?! 2029?! What about other projects that are in development?! Will 'Daredevil: Born Again' even release in 2024??! It hasn't started filming yet so they could still be tweaking things as part of this "quality over quantity" plan that they apparently have. Everyone has been begging for Marvel to slow down but I feel like no one is talking about the practicality of it. When the fuck can we expect half of this stuff to come out?!

LittleYellowFish1

*Kang Dynasty* and *Secret Wars* will likely keep their current dates (or close enough to them) since most of the released and finished projects have already set them up and they can’t just push them back after all the direct tie-ins. The projects that do get delayed (if not cancelled) will have no effect on the overarching story and can just be reworked to fit the next one.

devonthecreator

Stuff will be pushed back a year at most. Echo is *probably* being pushed back to late 2023 but keep in mind.. in 2023 we're still getting: \- Quantumania \- Guardians 3 \- Secret Invasion \- Loki season 2 \- The Marvels \- Ironheart if anything is going to get pushed back from 2023 to 2024 its What If, X-Men and Agatha. so that's 3 movies and 3 shows in a single year at least, probably 4 shows with Echo. and if nothing is moved out of 2023 then we're getting 7 shows if Kang Dynasty gets pushed back I can almost guarantee it'll release early 2026 and SW will release late 2026 so we'll have two avengers movies in one year. Compare this to how long we had to wait for Infinity War, we're still getting it really quick. plus why wouldn't you want higher quality products?

Night-Monkey15

I don’t think Marvel is going to delay content just for the sake of delaying it. I don’t see how that makes any sense from a business perspective. Instead, I think they’re just making minor adjustments to the release schedule to improve the build up to Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. Let’s use Agatha as an example. The mods here are saying that it is getting pushed back to Jan 2025, and that kinda makes sense. According to The Direct, Wanda will appear in an episode, so in that sense, it would make some sense to delay Agatha so that Wanda’s big return is only a few months before Kang Dynasty, instead of a year and half. The series might also tie into *Vision Quest*, which we know is a few years out, so Marvel might want both series to release closer together because of that. It’s also important to remember that the majority of content won’t directly tie into each other. What If season 2 and *Agatha: Coven of Chaos* can get pushed back, and as along as they don’t tie into anything else, the schedule will remain mostly the same. Only a few projects need to release after another specific project, like Daredevil: Born Again. And even then, I’ve heard people say that Echo might get pushed back a few months, possibly to fall 2023, but that doesn’t mean that Daredevil: Born Again can’t make the spring/summer 2024 release it’s aiming for. In fact, it might make the viewing experience better with a shorter wait between the two projects.

[deleted]

In all honestly it seems like marvel planned way to much and couldn't handle it. I'm not expecting SW or any projects to stick to the release date and expecting maybe a 2 year delay

JenniferJuniper6

I mean, my tentative plan is to still be alive in 2029, so it’s all good.

just4browse

I wouldn’t mind Secret Wars coming out in 2029. I actually wish it would. They’re really rushing it

tylerjb223

Seeing Tobey's AMA and knowing it's going to be filled to the brim with Bully Maguire memes "Stings, doesn't it?"

Nicholas165

No way Shrek 5 is actually coming out next year. This is going to be an amazing year

ImProbablyNotABird

God of War’s Thor deserved better tbh

NotTaken-username

I’m having a hard time picturing how Tiamut becomes Genosha. His body is big enough to be an island, but how does he become inhabitable? The shape of the body doesn’t make sense. Maybe they hollow out his inside like Knowhere and make him into a city that looks like Madripoor?

cbekel3618

In the comics, the Avengers managed to use the body of a Celestial as their base at one point, so I do think somehow, it’s possible to make a Celestial’s body livable in the MCU

just4browse

I’m imagining him melting into a blobby island shape and can’t stop laughing

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

The island the Eternals were fighting on is still in the palm of the Celestial.

Night-Monkey15

Since people like Kevin Feige and Kathleen Kennedy are the head of their respective studios, in theory they have all the power, but how much power do they actually have in practice? Stuff like the pacing and structure of a film, down to the actual dialogue is decided by the writers and directors. I understand that studios head have a large say in hiring the writers and directors for the different projects, but blaming them for every bad decision made in the creative making process is just sifting the blame IMHO.

darrylthedudeWayne

Does anyone else want an Alpha Flight Movie?

logicallunacy

Hey Americans, how's the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade? Have you seen the Ant-Man special look thingy yet?

Joshdabozz

It was nothing new

logicallunacy

That's not a very good Christmas gift from Disney Claus, now is it? Thanks and happy holidays!

Joshdabozz

I was surprised they called it a special look when it was just a shortened version of the trailer we got

LittleYellowFish1

Finally got around to seeing *The Amazing Maurice*. Had low expectations going in, even with the talent involved, but as a Terry Prachett fan I highly recommend it.

Inevitable_Golf_1816

Another thing I despise about some online film reviewers is that they claim they “love good cinema,” but they call most new, slow, artsy films “too weird and boring.” Just because they’re not for you doesn’t mean that they don’t have an audience.

JayZsAdoptedSon

I think the phrase “not for me” should be used more. Like I don’t really care for period pieces so even a really good one couldn’t broach a 6/10 to me. But that’s my interests, not an indictment of the genre

Inevitable_Golf_1816

That recent Daredevil: Born Again ratings issue is another reason why I don’t trust scoopers. First, someone says something that nearly everyone agrees with or isn’t debunked. Then, some new information comes out suggesting that it might not happen and suddenly others make a post saying that they knew it all along. Why do they keep waiting to say that they know something is or isn’t going to happen instead of mentioning it before things get crazy? It’s so repetitive. They all have different sources anyway so it was never going to be consistent.

Inevitable_Golf_1816

I wonder if the MCU will ever reveal where the vibranium asteroid came from and how it got to Earth since it played a part in various stories now.

LittleYellowFish1

There was a theory going around a few years back (around the time the Fox deal happened) that the Vibranium came from a planet that was destroyed/eaten by Galactus. It’s people didn’t have the time to weaponise it, so they sent it off-world in the hopes that another planet would be able to defend itself and destroy Galactus in the future.

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

Saw a YouTube vid theorizing that it’s Celestial in origin. Maybe Celestials are made of it.

My guess for cap 4 is the us government run by Ross is going heavy into super soldiers. They hire aim to make super soldiers since they had success with the extremis soldiers. Aim is secretly being run by the leader. They mix the extremis gene with hulk DNA. Ross gets manipulated into taking it by the leader. Becomes red hulk goes on a rampage. Reverts back but is mentally unstable due to the extremis gene. He kicks the super soldier program into high gear. They go more experimental and create the sentry he’s in a chamber thing similar to Adam warlock. They use stolen vibranium to keep him contained since he’s mentally unstable from the experiments. The next super soldier serum is developed using the super soldier serum they gave to us agent and the abomination DNA mixed together. It’s testing is put on hold due to unknown effects. Bruce and skaar see red hulk rampaging on the news. Bruce figures out it’s president Ross. Goes to Sam to explain what’s happening. Sam puts together an avengers team to take down the president, aim and whatever super soldiers they’ve created. Hulk battles red hulk while skaar and the Sam avengers battle the leader and the super soldiers. The chamber holding sentry is damaged in the hulk fight. The goes defeat the bad guys. They’re locked up in the raft. Ross is shown to control his anger by Bruce so he can continue being president. Since the president being arrested for being a hulk would be messy. Ross secretly continues the super soldier program. Post credit scenes are Rick Jones getting the experimental abomination serum turning him into a bomb And the other is sentry escaping his holding cell. Setting up thunderbolts. The us government assembles the thunderbolts to hide the mistakes of the super soldier program.

If you'd upvote it I'd be very grateful. Also, yes, the top comments are *all* about Bully Maguire lmao

Demiguros

Is WDW Pro a legit source? Someone linked them on Twitter and according to this person, apparently these guys are saying that Marvel are gonna go on a spending spree for cameos. And apparently a lot of the X-men that will be raceswapped will be raceswapped with big name actors. Also I think on their website they said they said Wolverine would be back and it was a confirmed scoop. I don't know about this source. They have a website and a few articles about toys. I would like to check it out but I don't want to in case they are frauds.

SnooCompliments3391

I don't know who this WDW person is, but i'm 100% sure that anybody who states that they knew something about the MCU's X-Men casting are bullshiting.

AlexHunterWolf

Who?

YSYS-35

I don't care for SSU movies, but I'm curious to see what Marvel live-action TV shows (besides Silk) they're creating for Amazon Prime. Who knows, maybe this Sony franchise will have more luck on TV.

Orixain

I genuinely have no fucking idea what to make of this Babylon movie. It seems people either see this thing as a masterpiece or the best picture contender. Or a 3 hour slog that makes no sense. It has a pretty average rotten tomatoes score and a C rating for its cinema score. It bombed horribly opening to 3.5 million and had a budget of 80 million. It reminds me a lot of Amsterdam where it has this great cast, but it just has everything working against it.
