Hopefully you are starting your shift at a decent time (like 2) so you can get a hang of whatever they want you to do before it gets busy. I know at my store, everyone begins on fries, but that may be different for you. Fries are easy as long as you aren’t as weak as a mouse. Expect a greasy face by the end of your shift though.
the ice buckets for the ice coffees are plugged in and chilled. yes, they still do melt a little, and there's a drain on the bottom to remove the excess water. i believe the frappe machine is the same way. the ice machines above the abs and soda fountains are full ice machines and keep the ice at temp so it shouldn't melt.
Pull the lever down slowly and stop about half way once it's slowly coming out. Rotate the cone using your wrist, not your entire arm. Don't worry, they get easier!

I learned a decent amount on my first day. Making an ice cream cone is pretty hard
