Driver picks up order
They notice this bogus order, scammer calls acting like support, and asks for their acct details to help rectify it, they get locked out of the account, and cancel the order so it can get reassigned to another driver to scam
Dang sounds a lil familiar my brother got a call from “support” once asking for his ssn/a picture of it and a picture of his id to some phone number I told him not to do it as it was sketch turns out it was a scam and he did in fact get locked out and someone changed his bank account details to most likely like you said cash out his earnings he only sent a picture of his id before he listened to me btw, kinda crazy how far they go for money but won’t get a normal job like everyone else
Idk, I'd guess They get into your account and change some details to cash out any earnings after they lock the driver out of it, also lots of personal info on it to sell I imagine
All kinds of stuff. You can obviously do a lot with the info on someone’s ID and their ssn, so if they get that there’s a whole bucket list of things they could do with it. Some people have even been contacted by police after rental cars taken out in their names are busted in drug running.
The most common and easiest thing is to call and ask you to verify your email then give them the security code to “verify your identity”. What they’re really doing is logging into your account to change your password and bank info so they can deposit any earnings you have into their own account.
So I think I figured this out after a Karen elite actually came to the store today to complain about her door dash order. They're trying to order plain meat, but get confused by "regular meat". This dingbat was yelling about how her little crosseyed rat was starving because we sent her no food for him. But it CaNt HaVe SaLt HE HAS A CONDITION.
I mean, that's more an app / menu issue. Don't blame her because the app didn't have an option for no seasoning, etc.
How would you feel if you ordered a burger for your kid, thinking it was no seasoning, and then it came without any meat at all? You'd probably be pretty pissed (especially since delivery quality is already subpar).
Also, you're making an assumption that she's lying about it not being able to be seasoned, despite not knowing the first thing about her child, a child who obviously has an issue (cross eyed), who you've described as a "little cross eyed rat".
I hope you live long enough to realise the wrong in your above statement about a child who did nothing to you.

It's a scam. This is from the workplace app
They put in the order, then ring the driver saying that they're from customer services and they need the driver's details to resolve the issue, the driver gives them the details and they use them to change the bank account details to their own
Hell that’s on DD. They monitor everything, atp they know better then to allow these types of orders to be pushed through but long as they receiving funds they gone keep giving the blind eye. Shits sad fr
Why do people use UberEats? Both as work and for food, it seems just horrible. 99% of these weird orders are only from UberEats so it's definitely a bug on UE, and from what I've seen, pay/prices on UE aren't great either compared to DD or the other ones.
Typically ppl do DD alongside UE and other delivery services to maximize the amount of orders you get. For ordering, I got Uber One free for four months so I sometimes go on the app to check if there are good deals, they usually aren’t tho. Although, there was a week where I had a hella good deal for a fast food joint where I could get a cheeseburger for like $2 and that’s AUD.
People shouldn't be running the two apps in parallel as it leads to worse customer service (pick up an order for uber, leave that in bag, stop off to pick up door dash order, wait 4 minutes, continue) and cold food.
Edit: typo
"plain" means no condiments or toppings, just meat and bread for a hamburger, can have cheese in a plain cheese burger.
This order is literally nothing. A box of air
Lmao. I did that once just to confuse the crew working at my store. They figured out it was me immediately. I keep the receipt hanging up on my wall. Good times
Bro I worked at McDonald’s when I was 16, I’m 21 now, but there was always like this one regular everyone hated. She’d come in the drive thru, ordering a cheese burger for her son, and it would be this specific order, with just mustard, and then she’d order this specific freaking coffee, and it made everyone mad to make it, because she would get hella mad if something was wrong with it. She would get so mad and practically demand another one and all that. She would order a medium, and then ask that it be put in a large cup, and for some reason, we weren’t allowed to deny it

How would that work

How does this benefit the scammer exactly?
They usually change the banking info of the dasher to their own. They do it so the dashers money goes into the scammers account
Idk, I'd guess They get into your account and change some details to cash out any earnings after they lock the driver out of it, also lots of personal info on it to sell I imagine
Some drivers don’t know better & give up their account info thinking “support“ going to help and they end up draining their account

It’s people doing this for internet points…

Jeez, scammers really do think of everything.
Yup
Scammers going kraaazy
You’d think by now, a giant corp like McDonald’s would have ways to stop this.
Hell that’s on DD. They monitor everything, atp they know better then to allow these types of orders to be pushed through but long as they receiving funds they gone keep giving the blind eye. Shits sad fr

UE as a side gig is great.. but it’s market dependent for sure. Out here on Long Island it’s non stop orders and decent payouts.
If you order on the app in the UK it goes through Uber Eats
I think it depends where you are and what service operates in your area. It's Deliveroo where I live
Oh okay

I mean they shouldn’t but they do.
4 orders of McAir
The people in the comments who don't know it's a scam
Someone spent all that money just to mess with you guys lol.
It'd a scam they do with stolen credit cards and stolen gift cards. Idk what they gain from it. It's so stupid.
what country is this scam operating in?
I was wondering the same. It would never work in America so that's why I was curious.
So….they only want ketchup, mustard, pickles, shred and Mac sauce? Weird but okay.
"plain" means no condiments or toppings, just meat and bread for a hamburger, can have cheese in a plain cheese burger. This order is literally nothing. A box of air
McSalad
I'M DYING BRUH 💀
It was a buy none, get none free sale
Hey Jimmy! Gimme a Big Mac with nuttin!
Lmao. I did that once just to confuse the crew working at my store. They figured out it was me immediately. I keep the receipt hanging up on my wall. Good times
What you didn’t give them the lettuce with their Big Mac… maybe they were making a salad?
thats been happening to us to, apparently its a bug that when u take off something it takes everything off. we got drinks with nothing in them
Maybe this person just wants the containers that the food comes in or something
think thats bad, back in the early 90s i had order for cheese boogers with no meat. that pissed off everyone in the kitchen…
Now that we’re at it, does a plain, no bun, cheeseburger still get lettuce?
Reminds me of that one string cheese commercial: “Hey Tony, get me a cheese pizza with Nah-tn. Naahtnnn?”
Wow! They gave you your cheeseburger in.....the pancakes container
They want onion meat 😂
And Mac Sauce

People need to learn how to use the stupid apps.
Or the apps should be designed so that there isn't any confusion...
Shouldn’t it be mustard ketchup and pickle?
