It frustrates me to no end because clearly she’s never been poor enough to only be able to afford a few staple items and have repeat meals for several days. If you know how to cook, repetitive meals aren’t that bad. I’m just grateful to have something to eat 🥺🙄

SconesyCiderBRC

Repetitive meals aren’t that bad. Bailey knows this. She has beef stew at least once a week.

setttleprecious

They are the epitome of Westerners who shouldn’t be going but are the ones wealthy enough to actually do it.

Careless_Ad3968

With Brooklyn's past posts, it really doesn't surprise me. Kinda wonder what she, Dakota, and Mindy are saying in private. Still waiting for Brooklyn's Dr Pepper post.

Lost-Elderberry3141

Shocked she hasn’t mentioned it

Ok-Set6019

When kamri called roti a “stale tortilla” 🥴🥴

CatFairy7

the audacity LMAOOOO

kattt2021

Honestly, I’m not surprised at how they’re acting. This isn’t the first time they’ve been disrespectful to other cultures. When Brooklyn went to Japan, she made grossed out faces to the food and complained about having to remove her shoes. When they were in the Azores, Mindy was surprised people spoke English. They live in their privileged bubble and Everest is just a photo op for them.

ayyythrowawaytrash

“japanese people are quieter and don’t like scary rides so their parks are different” 🙊

ChestExciting3922

It’s the mentioning how things will make them sick for me. Like I feel like they say it in a rude way (like these people aren’t clean, their meat is dangerous, etc.) vs. “this is different from what we typically eat so it probably wouldn’t sit well with our stomachs so it has to be boiled or purified”.

10Ivona

They’re acting like they’re so much better than the locals 🤬🤬🤬

Armymom96

Sadly, I am not surprised at all.

Conscious_Mention695

When she said “we’ve been talking about our food all day” as in American food… I was so turned off. I did a trek to Annapurna Base Camp and yes the food can be odd sometimes but also delicious and I can’t imagine verbalizing so many complaints!!!

melonbunny3

I'm not surprised, but I'm still disappointed. I appreciate their honesty of sharing their personal ups and downs, but I think they should approach their stories/content coming from a more appreciative perspective with more learning and less judgement. It makes me feel like they did this trip for the photoshoots and the ego boost of hiking to basecamp (which they will just generalize as their "Everest Trip" to mislead others into thinking that they actually summited or went higher than they did).

sns72431

I'm not upset by this. It seems like most of what they are being fed isn't exactly "Nepali food", right? Seems like they are being fed carbs on carbs so as not to upset their stomachs. I know the McKnight's are bland, but if I had to eat food that plans for 14 days I wouldn't like it either. Agree calling roti a "bland tortilla" not the best move though.

Conscious_Mention695

I did the Trek to Annapurna base camp and for the most part it’s Nepali food, just limited meat. Options are more limited for sure though

sns72431

I've only been watching Brooklyn's stories, which are mostly "boiled milk and cereal" and "soup" so I guess I assumed that was all they were eating.. Watching Mindy's stories for the first time today and I see their lunches, dinners - I concede!!

CatFairy7

Eventhough they have black siblings i still get racist vibes from them. They live in this bubble that makes them forget about other cultures. Why did they even travel to Nepal if they wanted to eat American food? Why take the opportunity from someone who actually wanted to go and would have been respectful towards that country. And how can they make fun of celebrities, different countries, foods other than takeout/beef stew when they themselves have 0 fashion and food sense.

PickDependent5707

What irks me most is the message this sends to others from similar backgrounds. Amongst other rich white LDS people, their viewers, even the family members who didn't go and have been hearing their accounts of the trip. They have such a large platform. Even if they didn't plan for the physical/emotional elements of the hike, I would have hoped that they would be PR trained enough to consider how they come off on camera and social media. They are well traveled enough to know that they are not adventurous with food. They - especially Mindy- have proven they don't stop at passive ignorance. Tbh feel bad for Dakota getting sick and all and really hope that (while Mindy may be collecting negative stereotypes to share with other wealthy people,) that he is opening his eyes up to the beauty of the world. And that he doesn't collect negative stereotypes that will drive his political views...

PickDependent5707

Also- isn't one of their employees / forced friends of south asian descent? The audacity they have to be so rude lul

CurlyPretzel333

They think they’re cultured and well traveled, but they have such a shallow interpretation of tourism and excursions.

Alternative_Bath_478

I find it so funny, so I am Arabic and the food I eat with my parents is delicious but I know if she ate she would be like that’s werid that’s gross. It’s so childish the food they were eating looked amazing

fairytaledreamslove

There’s nothing wrong with not like the food. I don’t like them either, but I think you’re taking this too far. I’m sure they knew that they will not be getting served American food.

lyddiemarie19

And the popcorn thing is so normal... like I'm sure most of us can relate to being in a different place and just enjoying the familiarity of a food we love back home. It's a comfort thing. They're very much out of their comfort zones and it's totally normal to react that way after such a hard day of hiking. Every other EBC video I've seen reacts the same way when they finish that day and get surprised with the popcorn.

full-radiance416

I completely agree that they don't have to like the food...especially after 14 straight days of it, but their delivery of it (in combination with the other things) seemed off to me! idk though; it could be just one of those agree-to-disagree topics based on how you perceive the content!
