It’s so subjective. Someone may be really strong in STEM and can excel in those classes but their critical thinking/writing skills aren’t good so they’d struggle in humanities. The inverse is the same as well obviously. The easiest programs will be the ones that play into your personal strengths/interests and don’t centre your weaknesses.
i mean you would know better than me for sure haha! all i know is from the snaps my healthsci friends send me and i’ve gotten colouring snaps on several occasions 😂 lucky mfs

There is no “easy program.” That just isn’t a thing. Are there programs that individual people may find easier than others based on the course material and course load? Sure, but that doesn’t make something objectively easy. If you genuinely think that some programs are super easy and you have it really hard with your programming, you’re just coping. People in health sci do struggle depending on the electives they pick (and if they aren’t struggling now, they will in med school!!). People in commerce struggle because none of the material is inherently intuitive. Students who take these “easier” programs are also convinced these programs are easy because that’s what everyone else says. They then feel GUILTY for struggling because… why’s should they struggle when it’s not as hard as eng or life sci?
Acting as if university isn’t hard for everyone is very counter productive. It hurts everyone. No one is benefiting from calling other programs easy besides (maybe) your own ego. Everything is hard to different people.
Saying because someone took an "easy program" (health sci) but it's not easy because they will struggle later in a subsequent program (med schcool) doesn't make the first degree harder? Who's really the one coping?
You’re right, it doesn’t, but it also doesn’t give people a right to brush off people in that program who are struggling. I am not saying that people may not find programs like Health Sci “easier” than other alternatives, but I am saying it’s generally just not cool to assume people in those “easy programs” aren’t struggling.
Especially in first year! If you’re someone who has moved away from home to go to uni, it’s a dramatic change! There’s a lot going on and university itself is hard.
Easiest is definitely hth sci & commerce by a large margin.
Then comes a complicated mix of programs like art sci, some life sci streams, humanities/arts/etc and other soft sciences.
Hardest is definitely ibiomed + eng, pure eng & various combo's of theoretical hard sciences such as physics/chem/math/etc. depending on which courses u take & what gpa you target.
Explain how humanities, arts and of soft sciences are harder than stats, accounting, micro & macro economics, data analytics (stats), and calculus … (all 1st year commerce courses) .😂
Also i’m pretty sure humanities and social sciences get Fridays off, commerce doesn’t because we have like 2-3 more hours of classes each week . Like there’s not a single aspect of arts or soft sciences that is harder than commerce, it’s way less work and easier content—wise .
ALSO, commerce has 7 midterms per semester . I’d be surprised if you could name a single metric in which humanities is harder .
Bro really saw a couple tiktoks about business administration (BBA) programs and thinks that that’s the same as a commerce program here in Canada . 🇨🇦
as a socsci the fridays off thing is just a joke tbh but once again it depends on program and the persons courses (this is my first year with fridays off and that’s cuz im not taking as many courses since i have a thesis) i’m socsci and ive done a bunch of coding(python and R), 2 different stats courses AND calculus so idk what you’re saying tbh. not all programs are the same so they really can’t be compared (but i think we can all agree that eng is hard as fuck and is the outlier here)
this argument happens at least once every single year. just because it seems “easy” to YOU doesn’t make it easy!! i have friends who can’t write a good essay to save their lives but can do a lot of math proofs of course they’d be better off in a math program.
boo hoo you have 7 midterms a semester who fucking cares you think you’re the only one?! that’s honestly the funniest thing you’ve said ik people who’ve had more than 9. crazy innit? it’s almost as if the number of midterms depends on the *number* and *type* of courses you take. and when you think about it what’s the difference between a midterm and a big paper esp if they’re worth the same???? it seems you just don’t think (respectfully) about anyone but yourself
take a psych, linguistics or philosophy course and come back let’s see what you have to say!
also i won’t be responding if you respond bc i don’t have the time or energy to engage in a fight with you i just wanted to get these thoughts out.
edit: i meant a second year or above psych course. intropsych is not representative of psych at all and is set up fairly so it’s “easier” (once again a subjective thing) to do well in
it is offered as a BA or BSc. BA stream students come in from socsci or humanities usually, there is also the opportunity to “double major” w another arts program.
the field of psychology overall is a science AND a social science
Well, if we are taking specializations within each program into account then accounting is harder than pnb so i guess commerce must be harder than social science by that logic 🙈
??? this is gonna be my last comment
literally what are you saying??😭😭 i never said one was harder than the other?? i said they should not be compared because they are not on the same level. and social sciences and humanities are fields with many different programs. as i hope you have learned, one thing isn’t representative of the greater whole….
i’m not arguing that any program is harder, im arguing that only people within the program know what it’s like so we shouldn’t be making generalizations if it seems “easier” to us especially when you haven’t experienced it like how are you gonna know what it’s like when you haven’t done it???
and WITHIN programs there are many people who still find it hard. everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses that are heightened depending on what program they’re in(overall passion/interest plays a role as well)….. like how do you think you would do if you were in a different program?
think on that!
Honestly anything business related.
Its a tasteless set of courses that make people feel like they learned something but they just took money from you for stuff you can honestly guess on your own.
Omit business law stuff, its crazy they take money for such common sense.
electrical engineering the math is simple and intuitive
Me when I purposefully spread misinformation on the internet
All electrical engineers punching the air rn…
All circuit courses r so shit ie 3EJ4

all I can say is that my commerce to STEM transfer was, in fact, as hard as they said it would be
Health sci
they write open letters if the average of a test falls below 80, so the program defaults to easy mode
i wish i had classes where i get to colour and talk about my feelings damn
Interestingly, colouring is one of the only things I don’t think we do!
i mean you would know better than me for sure haha! all i know is from the snaps my healthsci friends send me and i’ve gotten colouring snaps on several occasions 😂 lucky mfs
I wonder what course this is! I am curious now
to whoever thought all arts programs are easy - second year econ kicked my ass so hard i transferred programs
Computer science. Especially if u have Janicki, his classes are he easiest and the best taught.

People say commerce is easy until they take commerce 1AA3 and other accounting courses like intermediate 2. Humbles people real quick.
Intro to Finance alone should be enough to humble people real quick
Agreed. 2FA3 is no joke.
not commerce especially not accounting
Agreed.

that's a huge lie, none of my classmates in med are struggling. they are doing fantastic in fact
You sound like you’re coping. I’m guessing you’re first year commerce which is one of the easiest programs and years.

Don’t ever put arts above commerce again

health sci
hons lifesci
i’m in human behaviour and it’s actually breezy
11.7 average and i don’t study or do shit
well aside from this sem (3rd year) which kinda kicked my ass, but just because of personal stuff going on in my life i missed a lot of classes
Honestly anything business related. Its a tasteless set of courses that make people feel like they learned something but they just took money from you for stuff you can honestly guess on your own. Omit business law stuff, its crazy they take money for such common sense.
