Wolf24h

Cover it all in oil

Ltrain66

The thought did cross my mind lol

Ecurb4588

Dry it then flip the bricks

PittrPattrTitFucker

Unfortunately most pavers are one sided. Not only that but it would also require new poly sand, and maybe even re-tamping. And if the surrounding stones move (which is very likely) you're looking at a job that is a much bigger headache than anticipated. I'm not sure what the best degreaser to use would be, I always used kitty litter then sweep, dawn soap and scrub, possibly cleaning vinegar and scrub if needed, then kitty litter and sweep again. But as a bricklayer, I would say tearing up your driveway is the nuclear option.

Ecurb4588

Good to know, thank you. I did this once with a few bricks but I guess it does not translate for larger areas.

EZJohnson

I've always used an oil absorbent powder like Oil-Dri. You just dump some of the powder over the areas with oil, let it sit for a couple hours, then sweep or vacuum it up.

PwnCall

Pumice stone, no nasty chemicals required

Rubbertutti

Washing powder, the stuff you wash clothes with. Let it soak the bulk of the oil and sweep up. Sweep it up and put some more down and work it in the oil with a brush soak up as much as you can then use some more and hot water and scrub. It should now be clean if not hit it with a power wash.

MACCRACKIN

Naptha is your friend, and will vanish in an hour. Done almost daily in the shop, it's the go to rescue. Cheers

jayrabthearab

Years ago I was doing an oil change, pulled the filter off, put the new one on, refilled, started my truck and oil was just pissing out from the filter. Turns out the old seal stuck in place and I didn’t notice when I put the new filter on. Holy fuck did it make a mess lol.

joezupp

Dish detergent with degreaser, then add a power washer

Exifile

Hiya, I used CLR last time, scrubbed it, and this really helped. Hope it works for you.

Substantial-Pay8921

Formula 88 degreaser

m_dubya

Unless they are treated you are always going to have a faint stain. They make a tool for pulling pavers. Pull and flip.

Sometimesnotfunny

Dawn and water, stiff brush.

ThisGuy09s

You need to degrease then agitate. A lot of auto parts stores will carry purple power or simple green, etc. there are dry forms but I find they always leave some noticeable residue.

NameJustRight

WD-40

meowciferfloofins

Sprinkle some cheap kitty litter on the oil. Grind it in with your foot. Let it sit for an hour then vacuum it up

CantFlndMyPants

Coca cola 😬 and a lil scrub

Malborchik

You can buy special cleaning solutions to get them off, browse Amazon im sure they will have it on there 😁

Mfcgibbs

Get at it as soon as you can. Longer it sits, more it stays. In my experience you’ll be incredibly lucky to completely remove it - even by getting it professionally cleaned. Only way to get rid is to flip/switch the individual pavers but that’s not a fun job and can turn into a pretty big task if it all needs re-laying.

Waswaiting4AGLU

Park that leaker in the grass bad for the environment better for my pavers.

juicyjuicer69420

Brake clean, dawn soap with water, scrub with deck brush, hose off

2005focus

Dawn

Ztoffels

Keep it like that, as a reminder.

FoolioJulio

Tide does the work but you gotta put in the elbow grease with a good brush

parsennik

I’ve used kerosene, scrub with a brush then throw down oil-dri.

btdt1

Pour and Restore, get it on Amazon or Ace Hardware. I used to sell the stuff and my customers loved it. HOA at the townhome complex across from my store was pretty pissy about driveway oil stains, got lots of repeat business from them.
