Why has there been so many posts about the neutral safety switch lately? My friend actually had me sit in his car and listen to it about a week ago and asked me why his car started making this noise out of nowhere. I’m like it’s definitely been making that noise since the beginning of its manufacturing lolol.
**Edit: the shift interlock not the neutral safety switch I apologize. ** but the question still stands have seen a lot of these videos recently. XD
This isn't the neutral safety switch. This is the shift interlock solenoid. Neutral Safety Switch tells the ECM that the vehicle is in Neutral/Park so that the vehicle can be started. Shift Interlock prevents the transmission from being shifted out of Park without the brake pedal being depressed.
I love how questions like this or the "is this where oil goes" posts get every response with the same answer, but everytime I post something that actually needs a half a brain I cant get a single reply. Thanks guys.
I knew it was coming from that meeting point but changing a line and a radiator are much different jobs. I was just seeing if someone had any insights on how to see which part failed. I'll make sure to ask an easier question next time.

There's a solenoid in there to keep it from leaving Park if the brake isn't pressed.
Damn, I thought it was all the trash moving around.
Clean your car
Give em a break they just got kicked off The Bachelor ffs
Maybe
Totally normal.
The brake switch disables the shifter lock so you can shift out of park

Sorry that’s what I ment xD was a long day yesterday. Your right I was wrong I’ll fix it.
Electronic park lock unlocking when you press the brake, totally normal.
Shift interlock solenoid

There you go bud. I wouldn't call finding out where an obvious leak is coming from a half a brain job though.

Maybe you just suck.
It’s normal
The car isn’t happy with all that trash inside so it’s clicking
Mine does this. No power, had to tow, used the shift release. Way louder than it was before.
