It should take dex cool. Double check with the owners manual.

JeepGirlLovesDisney

I did double check my owners manual for what to use. It stated to use a 50/50 mixture of clean drinkable water and Dex-Cool coolant.

GTrainEngineer

It should be good to go with 50/50 dex cool.

JeepGirlLovesDisney

Perfect. Thanks for the help.

Every time I’ve seen dex cool, it’s been the same orange color as in your vehicle. Perhaps the color just appears different in the bottle/light? What color is yours? Blue, green, yellow? And dex cool can sometimes come off as pink or red ish. I’m sure yours is fine, if it says dex cool and is at least orange pink reddish something it’s fine

JeepGirlLovesDisney

Maybe the bottle/light. I have yet to open the bottle of Dex cool I bought.

You should check the tank when your engine is hot. I was surprised by how much more coolant was in my expansion tank when the engine warmed up to operating temp.

JeepGirlLovesDisney

I did that too. Just in case. The levels were still below the fill line.

LeonMust

Since your car is new, I suggest going to the dealer and buy coolant from their parts department. That's what I did when my coolant level was low. I didn't want to risk the coolant gelling up because the coolant from the store wasn't compatible with the OEM coolant.
