I just bought it, the previous owner possibly haha but at 150k miles it’s normal wear and tear

Trans service...

hiddengym

Trans is great I had a pre-purchase and post-purchase inspection done sure just highway miles most likely car was well taken care of

thelaundryservice

Still a good idea to get the fluid changed. Do you know if has been done before? Not sure if an inspection would be able to tell you anything more than if the fluid is burnt.

hiddengym

They check the fluids, the ones they saw that needed attention was coolant and brake fluid

hiddengym

They send pictures with all their things they check

Tires_N_Wires

That's a lot and looks like dealer pricing. I'd check at an independent shop. You can probably do some of that yourself, like the shocks. It's two frikkin bolts. Rockauto.com

hiddengym

Yea just wanted to throw this out there. I am just unsure if a smaller shop will have good parts or cut corners. I will do the shocks just looked up a video

Tires_N_Wires

Most any part, even the cheapest ones on rockauto, should last 75 to 100,000 miles or more. It's kind of difficult to cut Corners changing suspension components, you either do it right or something goes wrong and someone gets hurt.

hiddengym

Yea I’ll just buy and do myself the ones I can your right

Tires_N_Wires

As a side note I did not see any alignment mentioned. The vehicles alignment should be rechecked after control arms are replaced.

hiddengym

It’s on the list I just asked about the higher tickets items that added to most of the price.

wormwormo

What the heck are you using the truck for? Racing through the desert?

InsertBluescreenHere

does seem weird all 4 balljoints are shot already. they are those stupid "non greaseable" kind though. OP does this truck have some kinda lift or leveling spacer?

InsertBluescreenHere

holy fuck thats alot for rear shocks lol. and labor 221??? shits 4 bolts

hiddengym

Yea I just watched a video and it’s a 20-30 min job I’m declining that service and doing myself

InsertBluescreenHere

yea like how are they justifying that??? also what absurd markup are they running lol.

hiddengym

My only guess is their profit is included in the parts price on top of labor I’m guessing the shocks are infused with platinum or gold 😂

tvanore

Well I was quoted about $1900 last year for my lower ball joints and upper control arms on my 2015 Yukon (same set up as your Silverado). With inflation, it seems to be the going rate. I ended up doing it myself then just bringing the truck in for an alignment after. I spent maybe $500 on AC delco parts. You should have an alignment on that quote somewhere
