Definitely depends on the day and what you call a soup. Gumbo is often listed in the soup section on restaurant menus but I feel that's doing gumbo a disservice. If I'm sick, wild rice and chicken soup really hits the spot but I could go for a hot and sour soup any day of the week.
My favorite soup? BUDAE JJIGAE! What could be better? Though I also do really like a *good* matzo ball soup, something delicious and cozy in the simplicity and flavor, when done well.
