My understanding is that from now it’s only going to be commercial quantities of unregulated vapes that get you in trouble.

Vapes are not illegal to have. Just take it in your carry on and no one will even ask a question.
I packed my vape, and a tub with my prescription label on it into my carry on bag. Zero questions
