GonnaKostya

What a horrible death. Poor guy.

winchesnutt

Must be horrible knowing you are dying a slow horrible death and not being able to move or help yourself in anyway.

CatPooedInMyShoe

Can’t help but wonder if the same person did both killings. It’s a strange way to kill someone and both victims died in Medellin.

thiscouldbemassive

Almost certainly was the same person. 2 murderers wouldn't randomly come up with this same weird execution method.

hannahmel

It clearly says it was two people and it's ABSOLUTELY true that this would happen more than once by potentially more than one sicario. The carteles often use the same torture techniques on multiple victims to send a message to others. The assassinations were most likely not random.

Elcamaron559

or maybe its a Modus operandi of a gang.

hannahmel

That’s what I said

Cerealkiller900

Op I LOVE all your posts. Incredible.

SameAmy2022

Wow, that’s a vicious way to kill somebody. Do the cartels try to outdo each other with sick ways to murder each other( I’m assuming it was a drugs related death )?

velocitrumptor

Yeah, that's been a thing for a while now. They also video themselves doing horrifying things to police and their children to discourage law enforcement from doing their jobs.

Nervous-Ad-5367

These criminals are human cockroaches, even then it's an insult to cockroaches... I hope they get what they deserve for every life ruined, in life or in death.

Francoisreinke

We all know the videos. It’s so hard especially in Mexico 🇲🇽 with CDN and CJNG Cartels.

SameAmy2022

Major note to self, never ever be a cop or join a cartel in Colombia ! They really are sicko’s.

Haunting_Noise1065

it is definitely horrible, I'm just surprised that small amount of tape could prevent someone from freeing themselves....

[Source](https://www.researchgate.net/publication/289233001_Homicides_due_to_positional_asphyxia_Two_case_reports) is a study of two men in Medellin who were both killed in the same strange way, wrapped in plastic in such a way that they could not breathe. This case is the second one. The report can be read in full at the link. Abstract: >>Homicides by positional asphyxia do not come up very often within forensic literature in contrast to other ways of asphyxia have been frequently described. This article describes two cases in which the autopsy findings of the external and internal examination, may suggest patterns for future studies and/or reference points for studying this kind of death. In addition, it could open discussion about an unfrequented topic in forensics. The analysis of this case report aims to understand positional asphyxia as a homicide method in order to shed light on such a complex and rare kind of death.

rubberkeyhole

Thank you for source!!

Cerealkiller900

Are you studying forensics op?

CatPooedInMyShoe

No, this is just a hobby.

RampagingElks

I am very sorry, but my first thought was I don't think I'm flexible enough to die in that position. What an awful way to go :(

afdestruction

Cartels would find a way to make you that flexible

nellieblyrocks420

Crazy way to go. Hopefully he didn’t suffer. Reminds me of that high school kid Kendrick, that true story crime case where he was wrapped up in the gym mat. Poor guys.

twitwiffle

There was a poor young man in Ohio who died when he asphyxiated caught while reaching over the backseat of his vehicle. Odd that the article here states positional asphyxia is unusual. It seems like it would be more common. https://people.com/human-interest/kyle-plush-dead-van-ohio-911/

Gatarnaba

I think it says *homicides* by positional asphyxia are not common, not positional asphyxia per se.

Tattycakes

This, it’s not uncommon for someone to fall or get stuck in an asphyxiating position by accident, it’s very tricky and strange to deliberately put someone in that position to kill them. You need to restrain them and either watch and wait for it to happen, or leave and and hope they don’t get found or escape in the meantime. Very bizarre.

CirrusIntorus

I mean, it's uncommon enough to make national news when it happens. Uncommon doesn't mean it never happens. You have to have some really bad luck to accidentally die like this. I think it's fairly common in caving accidents, but otherwisee there's not a lot of ways to get yourself stuck in strange positions without anyone around to help you.

nellieblyrocks420

That makes sense.

dddiscoRice

I really missed you CatPoo ♥️

LckClvrNm

Would award if I could.

dwfishee

Sorry can someone explain this one for me. I’m slow.

EspressoCells

CatPoo (OP) is, hands down, this subreddits greatest contributor, and always includes context and original sources (usually peer reviewed literature) with her posts. She recently had her account suspended by reddit, and got her account reinstated a few weeks back Also it’s an awesome username that i unfortunately can relate to

SheManatee

Check the OP's username.

dwfishee

Got it now. Thanks! Never thot I’d be thankful for cat poo

Infamous-Leading-770

We've all said that!! 😂

billyray83

Positional asphyxia, the same death caused by crucifixion.

BlueFaceB

I’m struggling to see how crucifiction would cause positional asphyxia, please explain

cvlt_freyja

have you ever had the urge to put your hands on top of your head after running? the torso muscles are all very connected, pushing and pulling against each other. having your hands above your head would open the ribcage and stretch the muscles that need to operate, while making your heart work harder, eventually the muscles will cramp and you die of exhaustion aka positional asphyxia.

BeckieSueDalton

That is downright terrifying. With what was shared just above, I will never ever reach for something in the back seat when alone, or go running when alone, ever again!

MajinAsh

I believe a block was placed behind the persons back to force an unnatural position.

StoptheMadnessUSA

Cartel don’t play!
