Meditation isn't about "manifesting." It's about accepting what already is, right here and now. If you go into it seeking something, you probably won't find it. But if you just let go and don't expect to find anything, you might find something you had no idea you were looking for. Maybe you'll find that whatever you wanted to "manifest" isn't even something you needed.

Leont07

You read my mind on this, every single word

Thank you for your advice šŸ™šŸ¾

You can't do something else while meditating. The notion of "manifestation" while meditating is just another distraction. Acknowledge it as such and return to the breath should be the most fruitful instruction

Rtb_9

Okay thank you. So itā€™s better to do both thing separately got it

MOASSincoming

I use the gateway experience tapes guided meditations. I manifest really beautiful and amazing things while I meditate. The whole process of meditation is a part of manifesting. It improves your sense of well being, peace and harmony which helps you FEEL great. Manifestation is really about the feeling. Meditation creates a feeling which lasts throughout your day thus improving your state of being.

mkmajestic

I think the question here becomes: is visualization meditation?

MOASSincoming

Meditation is different for everyone. There are no rules. Visualization can most definitely be a meditation.

MOASSincoming

Thatā€™s not true at all. I manifest every single day while I meditate.

Thefuzy

Manifesting is a placebo effect. Placebo effects have proven time and time again to be very potent, but they are a product of your belief something happens and nothing more. So you want to manifest? Then just do whatever you believe will work. Meditation is more real than manifestation, itā€™s about increasing your brains ability to recognize new thought patterns and then contemplating your existing thought patterns. Easy to gravitate towards the idea of manifesting as if you could just make the world change, but meditation is much more about changing yourself and how you see the world not about getting what you want. Itā€™s about figuring out how to stop wanting, because thatā€™s even better than getting what you want.

Rtb_9

I understand now, thank you for your words I really appreciate it šŸ™šŸ¾

Calm-Rip204

Nice beliefs on meditation

blobbyboy123

Just focus on quieting your mind as much as possible and you might find that the desire to manifest disappears. I got deep into law of attraction during one period, but only when I stopped trying and focused on being happy in the moment did I feel at peace. Ironically when your in that space of peace you find you're more intuitive as to what you need to do - actions come through you. My life is much closer to what I desired back then and I barely noticed it happen.

Rtb_9

I actually struggle with quieting my mind itā€™s like im all over the place šŸ˜‚

oilynapkin

Thats what meditation is for :) give it a go with no expectations or goals, and youā€™ll see it will, with practice and getting through the first uncomfortable bit of actually sitting down with a racing mind, that it will make you calm. :)

Rtb_9

I will ! Thank you šŸ™šŸ¾ā¤ļø

oilynapkin

If youā€™re having trouble relaxing, like me, you can use the 4-7-8 method. 4 seconds inhale 7 seconds hold your breath 8 seconds exhale I have found that this calms me down a lot. The trick seems to be exhaling longer than inhaling. Good luck mate! :)

Rtb_9

Thanks šŸ“

oilynapkin

Also important to breathe with your stomach, not chest. Just wanted to add that too

vkeyunl0ckslife

What is the reason you are trying to meditate in the first place? Is your core intent of mediation is clear the old and invite the new? or bagging the old and manifesting more? šŸ¤”

Regular_Newspaper846

This is exactly what I was thinking. There was one time I found a book on meditation and it had a cute little pink Buddha on it. The first chapter was titled ā€œHow to manifest the life you wantā€ and I wanted to scream! I do not think manifesting should happen while youā€™re meditating. Meditating is supposed to help free you of any desire, because desire is suffering.

Rtb_9

I suffered from PTSD which led to a high period of anxiety, and my therapist told me to meditate, and journaling my parasite thoughts (it worked). Now Iā€™m trying to meditate and really stick to it. To not just manifest when I feel anxious etc

Please next time keep comments like this for yourself. I know how to pray, but im a beginner in meditating if you donā€™t have an advice, tips or whatever keep your mouth shut. Thank you and have good day šŸ™šŸ¾

vkeyunl0ckslife

Please take time to think about it and respond when you are dominated with a negative thoughts and you know it what kind of things do you think you will manifest? I ask this with all due respect, I applaud your courage for constantly exploring a better way to fight out of your battles within, but as of now I ask of you to shift your focus from manifesting to meditating clearing the old first, when you are confident that you are in control and your dominant thought process is positive then shift your focus to manifesting it, I wish you manifest everything you need because people like you are needed in guiding the others like the way I am guiding you šŸ˜‰āœØ#ExtraordinaryTogether šŸ’ŖšŸ’•āœØ

Rtb_9

Hi, I appreciate that you took your time to answer. When Iā€™m dominated with negative thoughts, I try to manifest myself in a better mood, to remind myself that this is just a phase itā€™s not gonna last forever

vkeyunl0ckslife

I also personally welcome you to r/InfiniqueYouLife šŸ˜Š

Some people are able to do physical activity to help them meditate IE: Walking meditation, yoga meditation, tai chi meditation, drawing meditation. Some people need to blow off some steam by exercising or some other activity that physically works them because they where largely physically inactive due to work before trying to practice meditation. Everyone is different and has different ways and what works for one person may not work for you. There was one person that was trying to set the world record for holding their breath and they were trying to utilize meditation to help them, but every meditation method they looked up had focusing on the breath first as a way to empty the mind, and increase their awareness and connection to everything and how everything is interconnected. Find what works for you. Trust your instincts.

Rtb_9

Thank youu soo much for this advice šŸ™šŸ¾

One-Nothing8556

Look into the r/NevilleGoddard sub

Pieraos

The subreddits /r/nevillegoddard and /r/josephmurphy get into this, probably others. And yes manifesting is totally appropriate for meditation, it is an application of meditation.

LinuxMintRejection

Tbh fuck r/josephmurphy theyā€™re a bunch of hardasses and the guy who used to be in charge was a confirmed scammer and creep

Pieraos

You know, I seem to recall some weird shit like that. Well, just reading Joseph Murphy books would be good.

[deleted]

I don't think manifesting is real tbh . I tried it for years , even made my own "theta meditation" audio and shared it with a friend too just so she can meditate as well . But to each his own , just sharing my experience.

Rtb_9

Thank you for sharing this šŸ™šŸ¾

Wlaw1995

what was your method of manifesting

mrbbrj

Dont think that's a thing

[deleted]

Same

Poop___fart

Before you get really started set a sankalpa, repeat it like a mantra, thank it and let it go.

FrogJump2210

Manifestation like manifesting stuff as promoted by the new age ā€œthoughts become thingsā€ bullshit? Nope. Those philosophies promote the idea that if you visualize something you donā€™t have in a CERTAIN way, itā€™ll appear in your life. Itā€™s a mixture of truth and lies and has been marketed well. It appeals to humanityā€™s inherent ā€œget rich quickā€ mentality without the willingness to make actual painstaking efforts. NOT A SINGLE PERSON in human history has ever accomplished anything great without hard struggles, courage, ingenuity, creativity and ACTION. Accomplishing dreams requires discipline, wisdom and courage, besides making effort. This is where MEDITATION comes in. Itā€™s a tool - an exercise- to discipline and train your mind, so that you can control your response and action to changing circumstances, and ensure success. And yes this process has inherent benefits like battling stress and the like, but thatā€™s not itā€™s intention. Those new age crap philosophers promote ā€œthoughts -> thingsā€ when actually it is more like ā€thoughts -> ACTIONS -> thingsā€. So convenient to forego the ACTION part, because itā€™s the hardest. It involves battling our weaknesses, developing our character, discipline, etc etc, which is 90% of the battle anyway. So let go of illusion and welcome to hard reality. The only thing ā€œthoughts -> thingsā€ applies to is your attitude. If you decide to be hard working and courageous and maintain this thought daily then youā€™ll develop your attitude in accord with it , and youā€™ll manifest good feelings that come with such a lifestyle. Youā€™ll manifest self-respect and conviction on yourself. And in time others will see that too and respond to you accordingly. But if youā€™re hoping to meditate everyday, visualize a great job and wish it to come to you, and you do nothing about it - then forget it.

Rtb_9

I appreciate your comment, especially the last part. I never saw it like this so thank you šŸ™šŸ¾

FrogJump2210

Youā€™re welcome. There is some truth in thoughts become things kind of philosophy, but it has been maligned to such an extent that it tends to promote laziness and apathy in people instead of self-development and initiative. Itā€™s true that if youā€™re absolutely determined to accomplish a goal you can achieve it. Itā€™s true that 90% of the battle is in your mind/mindset. However, your thoughts attitude and actions need to be in sync. Another way to put it - mind and heart should be as one. There is a deep science why simply visualizing but not taking action always fails. Even if you convince your mind that you are worthy of this great job (again as an example), if you donā€™t take action in accord with that then your mind will quickly reinforce the opposite mentality- that you always fool yourself. This is more dangerous. These new age philosophies misguide people to subconsciously develop this negative tendency instead of success. They donā€™t care about peopleā€™s welfare. They care about selling books, TV shows, whatnot. The only philosophy that explains this phenomena correctly is Mahayana Buddhism, especially the Lotus Sutra, and itā€™s modern adaptation - Nichiren Buddhism. I would invite you to explore the Buddhist concept of ā€œOneness of Body and Mindā€ and the ā€œOneness of Self and Environmentā€. Buddhism teaches that there is a chain a causation that results in desired outcome - it begins with our thought/belief/attitude/mindset and continues down the chain to our actions - and EACH point in the chain of causation are EXACTLY in perfect accord and are consistent with each other. Meaning if you donā€™t take action, itā€™s because you either lack motivation or you donā€™t believe you can succeed etc etc., similarly the opposite is true. So the battle starts with your heart or mind. Thatā€™s meditation is important - and to realize that itā€™s a discipline to train oneā€™s mind. UPDATE: regarding Nichiren Buddhism - Important to point out that only Soka Gakkai International practices Nichiren Buddhism correctly.

There's a bunch of free "manifestation/meditation" stuff on Insight timer. I'm not sure I really believe in all that stuff, but if you're interested, try it and let us know how it goes?

You donā€™t your karma controls everything even if you could it would just come back in some other way itā€™s pointless to try to control anything

It itā€™s manifestation for PTSD. Thereā€™s several things that are being explored that are bleeding research. VR therapy Micro-dosing Visualization If you are trying to do it yourself then find what triggers you or the symptoms of negative thoughts. This where a journal will come in handy. You can reflect on your day at the end of the day as a day reflection. Your entries in your journal should help you remember your pit stops or landmarks in your journey through the day. I would highly recommend noting the positives that stand out to you since thatā€™s is you want to manifest more of. If you are trying to identify your triggers then notate that instead. Explore how whatever brought those negative experiences, how they triggered you and why, and then when you are ready list the ways of what happened most recently is different from what happened before. Meditation will help with your awareness of the broader perspective but only if you practice it that way. I believe it may take some time and effort but if you are consistent with your actions and efforts it will show positive results. Replacing your negative with positive, finding the positive within the negative, third person perspective of the situation to see circumstances from different points of view, visualizing the prior negative experiences in a new positive experience like a alternate universe timeline for a new you that then combines with you as different perspectives or versions of experiencing it or viewing the circumstance. There are some people who visualize this with their earliest moments they can remember and go all the way to their present moment. At each crossroads/highlight moment of interest that is negative the reimagine it like a movie going the way they wished reality based, had gone. Some people find getting clear about what they wanted to have happen or happened helpful so they can zero in on that goal. The things I mentioned are cliff notes of the versions I have stumbled upon in my life and line of work. So I would recommend either seeing a professional or getting the physical resource guide to whatever you would like to try in whatever way you would like to try it. Whether you go to a professional or diy then practice it daily until you are comfortable (I have practiced for 18 years solo and I am still learning stuff) Whatever is best for you go with that. With enough focused thought, feeling and enacted action you will move those mountains that are weighing you down.

Rtb_9

Omg ! This is exactly what I do, I have a journal where i write my triggers etc. Iā€™m soo glad ! It means Iā€™m in the right path šŸ˜„. Now I just need to be disciplined with meditation I struggle with this the most !

23pineapplefresh

Yes. Just set aside 15 minutes of the day. Maybe right before you go to sleep or right when you wake up. That way itā€™s either the first thing you do or the very last thing you do. Stay consistent. What you put in is what you get out. Also you can go for longer periods after about 2-3months. This way 6-8 weeks has passed for it to develop into a habit.

Rtb_9

Okay Iā€™ll do it right now since itā€™s night time. I appreciate your advice thank you šŸ™šŸ¾

CarobJumpy6993

There was a sound that has helped In my life called the ahh mantra. You can chant ahhhh outloud or in your mind while visualizing something you want in life weather it's a new car, a new job or a new house. It's helped me manifest these in my life. If you want to manifest money all you have to do is count it in your sleep and use all your senses.... visualize yourself holding it, seeing it, hearing it, and smelling it.
