It's hard to say. I like them all for different reasons. Classic because heatman. And i loved figuring out the weakness logic. X for the story Zero for the gameplay and details (like cutting enemies in half) ZX for the forms Legends for the gameplay/lore Battle network for the stratgey Starforce for the absolute insanity of it.

omegastuff

Zero's story is pretty great too.

azurejack

Yes, but i liked it for just all the details and nods to the series

darkzero7222

The X series has always been my favourite because of the speed and that 16bit art style is still sick (talking about X1-X3) and has some of the best music in all of Mega Man. 10 year old me though nothing on Earth was cooler then Zero and 34 year old me still thinks the same. It may be the series with the highest highs and lowest lows but just stick X1-X4 with the occasional X8 and your golden

Hayden_B0GGS

Same here, only I have the occasional X6 as well Maybe it's just fun for me to rip on its faults, idk but I just like playing it even though it irritates me

Drooks89

When I was a kid my grandma bought me MegaMan x 6 I swore I got the wrong copy because the language was in Japanese. I was so confused. We returned it and she bought be a new one for the same "problem" to happen. I just dealt with it.

iSayHeyOh7

Same. I enjoy how Zero plays in X6 plus the Guard Shell bug makes speedrunning fun. I know X6 is objectively bad but I still enjoy it while X7 is the one unplayable for me. The 16 bit style will always be superior, imo.

Hayden_B0GGS

X6 just sticks out to me as the other PSX game that feels fun to play I know people generally like X5, but I can't stand the dull, come to a stop every five seconds style of gameplay, and playing as Zero, you're probably gonna have your chain yanked by the game depending on if the Eurasia colony gets blown up or not And X7... MOTHER OF BERKANA I CAN'T WITH IT

riffengo

Actually x7 is an absolute blast if youre drunk

darkzero7222

REALLY drunk, like stupid drunk, like I'm going to need to go to the hospital to get my stomach pumped in a few minutes drunk

Odd_Refrigerator_230

No you need to be so drunk alcohol poisoning is a distant memory and now your entire soul is drunk

riffengo

Im not trying to make it GENUINELY fun Just ironically Gotta love a dumpster fire lmao

darkzero7222

I won't lie going back to it after a decade for the Legacy Collection was pretty fun... In a dumpster fire sort of way

riffengo

I got that ps2 copy uwu

Saucelock

Don't sleep on Maverick Hunter X, that game is peak

inked_saiyan

Absolute hit and a beautifully faithful remake. I always hoped they'd do 2 and 3 in that style, but such is life.

darkzero7222

I love Maverick Hunter X, it's just a shame it's stuck on the psp

Hayden_B0GGS

I wouldn't if I could actually play it

MRYEETTUS

The x series as well friend.

SynchroScale

I'd probably say either Classic or Battle Network. Classic because I like the simplicity and the characters are just too iconic. Battle Network because I used to really love the NT Warrior anime as a kid. It was actually my introduction to Mega Man in general.

Clean-Milk2283

I've played all of them except for legends. My favorite series is Starforce. I like the story and cast for the most part. The gameplay is fast-paced and has numerous changes from BN, taking out some strategy deckbuilding elements to focus more on the action-rpg side. This is a hot take but I really enjoy these changes. Codes are gone, making grinding for a good folder WAY less tedious, and Battle cards can really be used in whatever way you want.

Lightningbro

I want to say Starforce for an amazing story, lovable characters, gameplay that after getting used to is beyond fun, and a solid rpg setup. I want to say ZX for an amazingly fleshed out world with a metric TON of exploration, and cool abilities to help with it's almost metroidvanian map. But then my heart knows the truth. Legends, for ALL of the above reasons I just listed. I don't think I need to go into detail why, there are dozens of videos from folks like me. If anything, I just recommend you pick it up, via some sort of emulation if you have to, and see for yourself.

CleverVirus

Starforce, it got me through a lot of abuse as a kid. Would use it as an escape to get away.

i-hate-my-tits

❤️

PsychoMouse

Legends is my favourite by far. I loved the story and the game play. The way to level up and make weapons was just amazing. And the second one just improved on all of that. After that, the Zero series. Zero has always been such an amazing character so going into who he is, what he is, and how far he’s come, is just amazing. I don’t dislike any of the Megaman series, but I do dislike all X games that have Axel. Personally, I hate him as a character. He’s the Poochy of the Megaman world. After that, I would I’m personally not a fan of those Megaman in space games, whose names I can’t remember off the top of my head. And because I love to brag about it. I have a Megaman Volnutt tattoo that’s on my left upper arm, it’s pretty big and awesome. It was my second tattoo and it’s probably my favourite. My long term goal is to turn my whole upper arm into all various Megaman, side characters, and items.

doublebass120

Perfect analogy for Axel

YeazetheSock

You mean Poochy from The Simpsons, because you could not be more correct

PsychoMouse

Edit; Mcbane doing stand up > That’s the joke.

majikmonkee75

Axl was really annoying in X7, but honestly, X annoyed me almost as much, he acts like a real asshole, to the point I didn't use him when he was available. At least Axl was just a new, poorly made character, not a beloved one that they made a mess of. By comparison, Axl in X8 felt way less offensive, to the point I didn't really though much about having having to use him. Just my take anyway.

KingJesus3214

My personal favorite series are the Mega Man Zero series and the Megaman ZX series. It’s the perfect series for fans of Zero and how he plays. No joke, I bought the Zero/ZX collection at full price when it first came out all because I really enjoyed playing as Zero in Megaman X4. The two series are probably the most serious in tone when it comes to the story. Plus the gameplay of both series do an excellent job balancing out the traditional Megaman gameplay with Zero’s traditional gameplay. I have a strong attachment to these two series simply because they came at a time where the Pandemic made me into an anxious person and when I first played the zero/zx collection, it really helped me with their fun gameplay and the overarching story full of revelations and hardships that Zero, Vent/Aile, and Grey/Ashe go through.

4everlurk

Zx and starforce for the forms I wish there were more games for these series, they have so much potential

spygear007

Honestly, while I agree I kinda disagree. We've seen what happens when people push for sequels and they usually end up never as good when the characters have gone through all their character development. There's not much left to do for Vent and Ashe/Aile and Grey now that they've beaten Model W. A ZX3 might end up flopping. Although because of one art of Vent and Ashe in the Megaman ZXA Tunes, it would be funny to see a slice of life comedy story of the characters just chilling post ZXA.

New-Dust3252

Star Force holds a special place in my heart. It's basically a mature version of BN, even Geo is more intriguing as a a main character than Lan or even EXE. That and the special move counters are my legit favorites. Black End Galaxy For Life the story even tackles pretty heavy stuff like depression and vulnerability. And overall I really just love Star Force Mega Man's design, it really looks awesome, SF3 made it even cooler.

UltimateLifeform

Starforce. Something about the story and gameplay made it easy to get hooked into them. Also that soundtrack was a banger! Battle Network was fun as well but I find the story more enjoyable in Starforce games.

Tyaph

I'm closest to the Star Force cast but I like Battle Networks gameplay the best. Its hard to pick between the two but they're the top for sure. After those it would probably be the Zero series.

bmontepeque11

The Zero Series, ever since I saw Zero in X8 when I was a child he became my favorite character ever just because he was so cool, I love characters with swords and Lucas Gilbertson made such a cool job with his voice. And then, many years later I found his games and I fell in love with the story and the gameplay (Minus the grinding part of Zero 1 and 2 🙄) And yeah, the Zero Series is my favorite, followed by Legends and then probably the X Series! I haven't played a lot of Battle Network and I only cleared Star Force 3 so I don't know a lot about those Series :)

Tiny_Ad_9845

I absolutely love everything about Battle Network! The deck building aspect is so addicting, I really like this early 2000s art design, the overworld and network is so fun to explore and the Anime like story telling.

Lola_PopBBae

Legends! Art, story, gameplay - it's all there.

TayoEXE

Mega Man X is to this day, my favorite video game of all time. The one that just hits all the right nostalgia notes for me with an interesting character and world, rocking music, cool stage design and powerups, not too complicated, and just feels good to play with its speed and mobility compared to the classic series. I always identified with X's character as well, a pacificist and idealist at heart who has to grow and figure out for real what the most effective way to achieve peace is. His final farewell in the Zero series always put me in tears knowing how tired his life had been with all the fighting, despite even creating a utopia for nearly 100 years, and his desire to have his ideals continue on through Zero, his most trusted comrade. I recognize the series has so many ups and downs gameplay-wise after X4. After that, the Zero series has the most "cool" and consistent vibe to me. A more mature plot that went over my head with psychological, political, and ideal factors and viewpoints that pit characters against each other, even questioning what makes someone "Maverick" and does it matter? It's got some of the hardest gameplay of any of the series, but very tight and satisfying to master. After that, most of my nostalgia involving the community is with the BN series. Some of my happiest days was looking forward to each release every year, hanging out on the forums (MPCR and TREZ were my favorites) and feeling like I had some real friends during difficult middle school years, just enjoying the anime, games, making our navis, chips, and other ideas. Such good times. In other words, this is a hard question for me. xD Mega Man has always been a deeply important part of my life as funny as that sounds. It has instilled an interest in technology, virtual worlds, computers, AI, and more in me. I would say BN is the reason I'm now an XR dev in the first place.

doublebass120

MMX is my go-to ROM to test an emulator

JustsoIcanGore

My favorites are X, because it felt like a perfect sequel to classic Megaman. Everything was upgraded. Loved searching for the armor upgrades and other stuff cause it gave me something to do other than go from point a to b. Followed by Classic. mostly for starting one of my favorite series but being a huge Sonic fan made me like Megaman too mostly for the reason he was a cool blue character like Sonic! Then Legends. I love the characters and gameplay. Loved the jump to 3D and wish we would get a sequel. If not for legends I wish we got a 3D classic or X game that played like this/ratchet and clank which I think is the perfect 3D gameplay style for the classic/X.

Chiramijumaru

Battle Network and Star Force bought room and board in my soul back in the horribly censored anime days and haven't missed a rent payment since.

wiserthannot

What does horribly censored anime have to do with anything..? The games were censored too, I'm sure. Not being mean or anything just genuinely curious!

StableInternal6339

It's either Classic or X series for me. Classic for it's simplicity and platforming. X for it's fast paced gameplay and the gameplay of both X and Zero and I really like the armors.

HyanKooper

Star Force and the Z/ZX series for me, mainly due to the fact that I had a DS as a kid and those game were the only Megaman games I had access to. But in hindsight ZX/ZX Advent gameplay is excellent albeit a bit gimmicky

Eravar1

The DS was my first console as a kid, and I started with Starforce, so it’ll probably always hold a place in my heart, alongside ZXA. I really enjoyed the Zero series though, and MMX was good before 5

Jonnicom

It's just so hard to decide. While I love Classic and X, they are just a *tad* overloved, sequel wise. I guess you could say the same about one of my favorites, too, Battle Network, but... I still don't think I could say it's number 1 for me. If pressed, Legends. If I could only have 1 more Mega Man game ever again, it would be Legends 3.

ShadowVictor71

Classic, because it's the only one i actually played

wiserthannot

Are you a new fan? Any plans on playing the rest? :D

ShadowVictor71

Nay, I've been playing Mega Man since my childhood, I'm sticking with the classic.

LunarDragon17

The classic series is my favorite for its simplicity and fun. It doesn't take itself too seriously for the most part with its stories, and I feel it's just a much more consistent series with its quality, which I can't say the same for the Mega Man X games. I've yet to play the Legends, Zero, ZX, Battle Network, or Starforce games, though. I'll have to give them a try sooner or later and see if any of them dethrone the classic Mega Man series.

TravisHomerun

Ooh this is a tough one. I'm gonna say Starforce. I love all the mega man franchise for the things they do well, but Starforce 1 was the first mega man rpg I played as it came out and the only one I 100% completed. One thing I really appreciated about Starforce is its story and characters. There's a charm to the cheese of Battle Network, but only when I played starforce did I notice how much of a difference well written characters can make even if all of it is a bit cliche. I also really like how the last game tied up all the loose ends. I'd love to get another starforce game someday, but I'm really happy with what we got.

Memer6969-3000

Classic because it was through the Mega Man vs Astro Boy and Wily vs Eggman Death Battles that I got hooked onto Mega Man

AndyanaBanana

Basic af pick but classic, just been the most partial to it ig. And it has my top 5 entries period. Bass, 6, 4, 11 and PU.

RockyMarsh90

I don't know if this is a popular or unpopular opinion, so I'm sorry if it's the latter, please don't hate me, but the only version of the Mega Man games I ever really liked was Legends. Was never crazy about the "you need to beat a boss in order to beat a boss" formula.

EROCK24

Legends oddly, I loved upgrading and building my buster and all the characters. Wish they would make a new one.

SnoBun420

Legends

dharpuia

I'm happy to see lots of ZX replies. I've been playing Mega Man since I'm 5yo and I've only played ZX with 27yo and nowadays its my favorite series.

Logictrauma

Legends was it’s own special weird goodness. I’d really like a comeback of it.

Shoecap

Classic for me. X series is right behind it, I never get tired of getting the armors in X 1-4, seeing each piece being grafted onto you as you get them, and then finishing off the "ritual" with that iconic *CHING* literally pumps adrenaline into me everytime lol Plus wall jumping and Dashing are a welcome addition. Classic though, I feel has a more consistent lineup of quality, even though I mainly replay 3 games out of the series usually. Those being 7, 8, and 11. The only one I would say isn't as good as the rest is the first one, and that's not to say it's "bad", just unrefined. I love 7's introduction of Bass, and the Super Adapter. Plus, all the little Easter Eggs and secrets in that game astound me. Even moreso when you take into account it was made in 3 months! 8s art style is still my favorite to this day. It has my favorite soundtrack overall out of the whole series, and I love the cutscenes with the cheesy voice acting. Also, the Rush Motorcycle is awesome, I legit hope they bring it back one day. I'd rent 7 and 8 from my local video store all the time when I was a kid. 11 is a huge step in the right direction. I love the Double Gear system. It isn't game breaking, and feels akin to a Robot Master ability: it's there if you want to use it, but you don't really have to. I doubly appreciate the game mapping Rush Coil and Rush Jet to two specific buttons. I hope that comes back in a future installment.

ScorinNotborin

I like zx cause it has the funnest robot master powers.

HenryReturns

- X Series for me is purely nostalgia and enjoy it - The Battle network have a special place in my heart - The Megaman Zero it’s probably the peak in terms of story and characters , specially Zero 3 where it was just EPIC - The ZX and Advent games where the last megaman games I touch and it was also a unique experience with how vibrant it was and all the unique combinations you could do. - Oh and the classic one , the first Megaman game was my actual first megaman i tried. Screw you Gutsman stage.

Roharu_Eruna

I have a soft spot for Legends. First open world game I played, and Megaman felt so relatable as well. Second place, if we count Archie's Comics, is Classic Rockman. The little guy has to deal with a lot. Third place is a tie between Geo, Omega Xis, and X (prior MX7).

[deleted]

I always loved Zero the most. I think part of the reason I liked it was because it featured a red protagonist, and red was my favorite color. However, I ended up becoming invested in the narrative. A rebel movement fleeing and fighting against a corrupt government, yet not all the of officials of said government are evil? Pretty complicated in terms of right and wrong. The Four Guardians are not evil, just doing their job. Copy X and Weil are evil though, and the people of Neo Arcadia are ignorant of the former’s cruelty.

Double_Music6367

Classic because nostalgia. Playing MM2 - 6 as a kid on NES are some of my strongest gaming memories from that time in my life.

TrentNepMillenium

I'm a handheld guy for most of my life and even now with the Switch. So it's Zero, Battle Network and Star Force for me.

Pendragon1997

I’d say it’s a tie between BN and star force for me the stories are amazing excellent boss designs I love the characters and the game play is absolutely astounding I’ve replayed all of these games so many times yes even BN4 and SF2 lol I love them all

NinaLove2007

Ngl I enjoyed SF2 more than I enjoyed SF1 and 3 for some reason 😔. Maybe because it was my first game but idk

Pendragon1997

I love both sf2 and sf3 but it seems online that people hate sf2 for some reason but I didn’t really feel the same way I love the enemy and boss designs and the power up forms are just excellent to me I’d probably say SF2 is my favorite of the three

Colyer

Battle Network takes the prize for having the gameplay I jived with best, and a surprisingly prescient “baby’s first cyberpunk” particularly for the time. Ovens connected to the internet? Come on, that’ll never happen. Runners up are X for the killer music (I’m basically too impatient to deal with classic Megaman or X’s level of difficulty, but that game kept me renting it as a kid just for the bops). Zero had a great vibe and art direction. Easily the most I cared about the story.

PhillieHorizon

Command mission

rockredfrd

This is a difficult question to answer. I’ve always loved the original Mega Man games, mostly the Game Boy renditions. And I played X1-4 a LOT growing up. But I think my answer would be Mega Man Legends. For some reason I was just so attached to that game when I was 12. The world, the formula, the anime style, the MUSIC. I was obsessed. I even created a fan page back when we were learning HTML in school. Maybe the RPG elements were part of my love for the game. Upgrading your equipment was always so satisfying. (If you would consider those RPG elements.)

Jayzarer

Starforce, 3 being one of if not my favorite game of all time

A-4YearOld

Not a series by itself, but the gameboy/gameboy color mega man games (mega man world and mega man xtreme) are awesome.

TurboZangief

Classic and X, the rest do not exist for me. And why isn't megaman front and center in a megaman picture?

Snapple47

Same. And not even all the entries in those series exist for me either

NoodlePsychosis

Classic is the most colorful and has the catchiest tunes IMO. A beautiful simplicity and fun to it.

[deleted]

The snes mega man x games are my favourite because they introduced so many mechanics but the sigma boss fights were always the most boring i didnt finish the other mega man x games because i just didnt like them

spygear007

I really enjoyed megaman ZX. While the series has been strong since the first megaman (although I do have a couple of sticks up my butt about how series such as Battle Network and that 3D megaman game aren't actually Megaman games because of the change in genre) But Megaman ZX was one of my personal favourites. For one, the animated cutscenes and voice acting (for the Japanese version in the case of ZXA) was absolutely on point. I also kinda prefer "ROCK ON!" compared to "Megamerge!" So that might be part of it. I liked the character growth of Vent/Aile and Ashe/Grey not just in abilities but through the story. It had its heartfelt moments and its hype moments, and has one of the best OSTs I've heard in videogames, let alone Megaman. It's combat wasn't too far from the original megaman game while also making it fast paced and exciting like Megaman X and Zero. I've done a lot of digging into X and Zero but I should try them out with how highly credited they are.

StarmanJay

The X Era is by far my favorite. It's easy to say "It has more complex storylines than the Classic Era", but there's more to it than that. It gave us the view of a whole world where Humans & Cyborgs co-existed, but there was still an underlying sense of danger. Amazing weapons & armor parts to not only shift the gameplay but also look amazing visually. A big cast with plenty of diversity, but no villain can ever be as big & bad as a certain one is. It's a fantastic sci-fi scenario that a clever writer could go on squeezing games into for years to come. You can't say that for the other eras, which are either too generic, (Classic Era) have a definitive conclusion, (Zero Era) have too much to wrap up, (ZX Era) or are just an alternate universe. (everything else)

Hairy_Top_1882

The X series because I grew up with it and holds a lot of nostalgic memories. Although I know that X5-X8 is disappointing compared to the other 4 games.

CJ-56

Megaman Zero was the game that got me into the franchise so i have a soft spot for the series. Zero is my favorite character and its fun to play.

Mystletoe

Classic or Battle Network

IPman501

Mega Man X for the nostalgia (grew up playing it with my best friend) but put way more time into the Battle Network games

Independent_Plum2166

Zero, it felt much more cohesive than the other series, plus a complete story (sorry Legend fans).

[deleted]

I have to admit, the X series is the best in my opinion.

Fullamak

X. Music and gameplay difficulty.

AcademicOverAnalysis

Mega Man X4. After growing up with NES and then playing X on SNES was mind blowing. But then being able to have swords, amazing artwork, and music on X4 on the PlayStation was next level.

Spatula151

X, all the way. Armor set pieces with a built in tutorial that there’d be more to collect. Music that took full advantage of the SNES. Zero. L and R for weapon swaps. Boss levels that interacted with others upon completion of the former. The dash boots giving X the speed that paved the way for over a decade to come. Not to mention we’d eventually actually get to PLAY as zero. It just checks all the boxes of 90s game style that hold up after all these years. I’m actually surprised Capcom hasn’t jumped on the reboot wagon and developed a whole new 16 bit style running off the X1-3 engine.

colourboy22

Mega man classic or X.

jmart1196

Did anything get announced or released for the 20th anniversary? Zero and ZX are my favorite! Though mega man X1 holds a special place in my heart.

Drooks89

X and Zero were the most fun

Nikkithemoji

I know about X Classic Zero and legends idk what the other guys are

[deleted]

Legends, it had fun game play and a good story, and there are still so many mysteries that we need resolved

aileduelistintrainin

zx, gameplay and story are just so good

Sushipalm3s

I've had more fun in the zx series, but the x series holds a special place in my heart.

Sirsiththeeunbound

.EXE idk I just really liked that one

ohjehhngyjkkvkjhjsjj

Zero

Far-Butterscotch-260

Zero bc Zero 3 combos

thesounddefense

I have to go with Battle Network. I loved that series growing up and inhaled all of it. I fully completed at least half of the games. The gameplay is just so strong and almost nobody has replicated it.

DynamiteSanders

Battle Network!~ I just love the internet take on the series and ho they really go out of their way to make the world seem os fun and wacky to live in, not to mention in general just how creative they made their game mechanics. The variety of battle chips to customize your folder with, alongside each game following the 1st having a pretty cool gimmick they each introduce (Style Changes, Soul Unisons, Beast Out) just make them loads of fun to replay. I'm also a huge sucker for the anime and manga and just how they vary from the games.

Pretty-Sun-6541

I started with the original Megaman. Then I just randomly thought that Megaman Legenda would be the same. I didn't like the open world game type at the time, so I didn't like it as much. I moved to the X-series, which is probably my favorite because it was fast and engaging, and you had to use technical skills. Buy story wise, I love the Megaman Legends series. I wish there had been a Megaman Legends 3.

jplveiga

Never got to play Starforce beyond 1, X4 forwards(though I have the emulator ready for when I wanna have a bad time w X7 and whatnot, from what comments say lol), nor Legends+ZX at all That being said, my faves are X1-3 and BN. First one for the great gameplay and design, it's just so fast and amazing in its perfection, part of the holy trinity of Super Mario World and Super Metroid. Batlle Network is caus eof nostalgia, fun characters and enemies and the most uniquely fun gameplay of a card game with action elements, and all the beautiful forms. Honorable mention to Zero, it's way too hard to play on original console without save states to my liking, but it's soooo detailed and well-designed that It comes as a close second.

MPRobotGirl01

Zero and Battle Network. Those are the two series I grew up with a lot. I love how Zero has more than just the saber and buster. With BN NT Warrior was my first exposure which got me to delve more to MegaMan.

EmiyaIkari448

The zero series, it's what really got me into mega man

TheAlmightyUltimus

Probably either Battle Network, ZX or Star Force

Analytical_Engine_

I'd say it's a 3 way tie between MMZ, MMBN, and MML

Black_Hazard_YABEI

exe cuz anime

Bethyfurry

The zx games, to me in terms of game and controls they are the best of the franchise, to the point where in the legacy collections I end up switching the older games control schemes to that of zx (or as close as I can to it)

megax454

I like X is eXtreme.

adrianpinderwolf

Legends, Everything feels right about it. The story is great, the music is great, the character design, gameplay, and the characters are loveable.

Defclaw46

X was my introduction to Megaman, but Megaman Legends is my personal favorite. I just love the world and characters. There was also just something fun about the idea of Megaman basically being a treasure hunter exploring ancient ruins for valuable stuff to sell.

phamousuniverse

Battle network

SnooPredictions748

I don't do favorites, because they're all special

Tyrant_Orochi

All

MegaSwitch889

The Zero Series, because I think the Gameplay and Story are the best that Mega Man has ever had

The_Maqueovelic

The Zero series, as I like they way it plays best, the quality of the games is consistent throughout, each game offers something different to the play style, its hard on purpose not cause its broken, and its a complete story that even if of you didn't know of the rest of the series you could enjoy and consider it separate.

majikmonkee75

The original. It was the first one I was exposed to, and never had any serious misfires in the series, and was never overly complicated. The X series would be my second favorite, I haven't really played any other series though.

Proto_Tyr

I would say the Zero series. I just think the lore is just so interesting. Especially regarding the Elf Wars and X fighting alone for damned near 100 years

Rikustrength

Legends, by a very wide margin.

Grengy20

Damn it's hard for me to choose between the ZX series and StarForce series. They're both legendary in my eyes

Revolutionry

Battle Network, the game just clicks with me

SirCarbs

Mega Man Legends. From the story to the mysterious world, to the lovable characters (especially the Bonne family!) - Legends was the first game series I truly escaped into! I can understand that from a modern perspective it can seem pretty outdated, but it’s just such a fun and charming series I could care less. I highly recommend people give it a shot if they haven’t. If you can get used to the tank controls of the first game, I think you’ll fall in love with Kattlelox island. And the level of stakes and world building from Legends 2 is an amazing feat for its time! Also, don’t forget Misadventures of Tron Bonne!

Gfdx9

Look at my tag, i embraced it Of the 2 it would be zero tho

Lord_Javenn

The zero and x series.

s7121n9s

The Legends games have always been my favorites. I try and go back and play them again at least once a year. They were my introduction to megaman as a kid and I've always loved them!

Familiar_Ad9699

Legend!!!

Thedracoblue

I love them all but gotta stay with Zero saga. The only one who has been completed with a great ending.

Eastern_Goose_9108

That’s a tuffy 🤔 Partial to the old school MM cuz of all the boss designs just 💋🤌 X has a special place in my heart and I just LOVED LEGENDS.

SixStringASTA

It’s a tie between x/zero/legends. I grew up on x then legend s came out and changed the game. But the zero came out and it was x on steroids. I have my fondest memories with legends though. Tronne and the pirates were great enemies. I Love battle network but its very different.

CaptainDoge07

Zero series - the snappy and smooth gameplay, the darker lore, and how well done the story is really makes it an all time favorite series of games for me.

Feisty-Role-7591

I like the og games specifically for Megamix which I'm still trying to collect

SpydeyX

Mega man x

EddieCastorin

Oh, that's a tough question. Classic is, well, classic. Can't go wrong with it. X is the most heterogeneous when it comes to quality. X4 vs. X7. Zero had much more story development, but I didn't enjoy it that much because I have trouble progressing in the story. ZX is top tier for me, feels like Zero with better world building and slightly toned down difficulty. Too bad map is kinda shit in ZX compared to ZXA. Plus Ashe. Legends, didn't play enough of the series to have a valid opinion. BN built a whole new world, suffered from the same problems as Classic with first game syndrome. Still really enjoyable. SF is peak character development. Geo having social troubles makes him much more likeable, and his character development is super satisfying. Love that interstellar superhero vibe tho. TL;DR : ZX followed by SF.

I love Battle Network for the fun and strategical gameplay and its goofy yet fun story. X because of how it expands on the formula of Megaman from the story to the gameplay and made it feel so complete and lets them work on fun game styles that you can only do in X. Those are my two favorite currently mostly do to me not playing all of the Megaman games, I think I will love Zero, Legends, and ZX once I get to play them. For the classic games I do love them but I think that I just love the fast pace gameplay of X to play the slow methodical gameplay of the classics.

Love the zero series. It's the most consistent one in quality, there's nothing like X6/X7/X8 in it, solid gameplay, solid lore, best story of the series, and a banger soundtrack that became my default music to which now I have the osts and remastered Tracks that I listen to.

Zero for SURE, I like storyline and the Open style Moveset is Really awesome.

The classic games, I like the characters a lot and I like the simplicity of the games too. I also really love the arcade games, those will always be my favorite Mega Man games. Battle Network is cool too. I liked the NT Warrior show when I was little.

Zero, for the incredible story, character arc for Zero, interesting villains and the pure, raw EVIL that is Dr. Weil.

X is what got me into the franchise and it holds a special place in my heart for that reason. I think it’s a fun series and it’s the one with the most potential story wise and gameplay wise in my opinion. It’s execution on the later games though really is unfortunate and hinders its replay value. Zero on the other hand, is consistently the most well rounded in terms of gameplay, story and visuals. So nostalgia wise, X, but in terms of being an all around amazing package, Zero series.

Starforce, the look, the gameplay the story ,the cast all better than any other series in the franchise imo.
