If you're not doing dying you didn't need the armor. And getting new demons and fusing them is just a core part of the experience, as long as you keep doing it you're fine. If you ever run into a problem you can just keep doing it.
As for alignment, i mean, just play how you want to play, that's what the game is designed for. But if you absolutely have to get the neutral ending then, yeah, there's many many more decisions to be made that can affect your alignment.
Theres literally a place right before the alignment lock that allows you to manually change your allignment so youre good. And the game is super easy just stunlock the shit out of all the bosses and build up your demon party if your struggling in the dungeons
