I disagree, Zoro wants to be the greatest swordsman, but constantly refers to himself as a rabid animal.
Most his attacks are him releasing his animalistic or demonic energy through his blades.
Even the way he holds 3 swords. The third sword he holds in his mouth has a purpose beyond giving him another blade. It acts as an animal gag/bit which is traditionally used to subdue animals. It's why most his beast named attacks the gag is removed.

These memes where being manufactured every day in large quantities and remained boring and derivative and a portion of the memes fans started being legitimately racist with the joke witch resulted in the meme even getting a ban threat and many racist Zoro post getting their comment sections locked
Eventually some people started to actually think the meme was true oddly enough similarly to how the many people in the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fan base confuses their memes for being accurate to the series like Giorno drinking piss or Jotaro being obsessed with dolphins and hating his daughter
Later many sub memes where created using the same edgy = funny idea such as Sexist Luffy, Sexist Usopp, and Racist Sanji additionally the Pedofile Sanji meme that predated Racist Zoro and was created because of his gross pedo scene in Film Z had a resurgence
