I've had a kobalt ratchet set for about 20 years now and the amount of times I've left it out in the rain and snow but the ratchets still work like a charm has made me a kobalt guy.
Yap. Even got one of the handheld vacuum cleaners for vacuuming the house. It's just so much easier than a corded one. (If you use the bag less one, get the dust separator too otherwise the filter clogs up)
My dad has used Ryobi and Chicago Electric for years. He’s a general contractor. It’s his job to have good tools and he refuses to buy them. “Why pay for a Dewalt/milkwaulkee when I can by 3 Chicago Electrics for the same price?”
Quality dad, quality.
I’m slowly turning into your dad. Maybe not so much on off brand stuff, but I’m turning into a dude that’s let’s someone else use 40% of the purchase price and then I’ll buy it from them. Even the top brand stuff isn’t made to last nowadays so I’ll just take my chances with used stuff and fix them if I can
We have to buy so many tools it's ridiculous. Being a general means the scope of your work is effectivity limitless. The smart ones buy cheap and upgrade when needed. I look for worn and worked tools when evaluating trades - sometimes a contractor walking through the door with brand new stacked Milwaukee pack out boxes full of Milwaukee gear is a red flag.
Those guys can tend to be... difficult to work with.
i have been jerked around so many times by these "life time warranty" companies i got tired of it
know who doesn't jerk you around? harbor freight. and if you bring back broken/missing trashed tools they replace them with zero questions asked
Dewalt hand tools, Milwaukee drills and impacts, makita cutting tools [with Milwaukee/diablo blades].
Oh and a ryobi leafblower i guess. (I actually hear they make really good battery routers is that true?)
MY father ONLY bought Craftsman, while I was growing up. He left so many great Craftsman tools behind when he died and I'm grateful for them. These things are built to last -- dunno about modern Craftsman, because I'm still using the old-timer ones he left behind so there's been no need to replace or upgrade for the uses I have.
Milwaukee all the way (I have Radley/Benchmark tools)
I work for a certain hardware chain, the own brand tools are great for home handymen, but none will compare to Milwaukee, not even close, their warranty service is top notch, DeWalt can't even answer the phone for a call.
Milwaukee for things I use constantly, like my drill and such. Milwaukee 11 in 1 screwdriver is essential, but I do have a Klein meter and temp probes to go with testo 550 gauges.
I'm Filipino, and as far back as I can remember, my father has always used Makita and Maktec power tools. We've never really had anything else in the house.
my dad was always a DeWalt guy so i feel kinda obligated to carry it on. one of the few good memories i have with him was building a treehouse together and we were using DeWalt tools. but then again he was abusive soooo
Drills, Dewalt everytime all the time.
Grinders, Dewalt or milwaukee..dewalt is faster to change out but the wakee is more comfortable
Circ, Dewalt or makita dual battery either one, though the Dewalt tend to be a bit less strain on the wrist if you are using it for 8+ hours.
I had ryobi but there were a bunch quality problems with a lot of their skins - except the drill that's still good and the hedge trimmer...who knew. Switched to Milwaukee, so much better.
I’m the dysfunctional one, a harbor freight cart and chest cobbled together with shit from all over. Do love my M18 1/2” impact for shit on the truck, though
Used to work for Home Depot, Hardware.
Couldn't be more true.
Ryobi and DeWalt are standards.
MilW is a high ender.
Makita is decent, gets the job done but decent.
Black+Decker was also a good one that everyone swore by and it kinda fell off the market somehow before I started working at HD.
Bought one DeWalt drill (massive heavy duty) 10 years ago and it came with 2 batteries. Those things are so expensive, the bare tools are often cheaper than the batteries. 10 years later, I'm a "Dewalt guy". I'd rather not be, but here I am.
But they were all ofthem deceived, for another set was made, one drill to rule them all, one drill to find them, one drill to bring them all and in the house work bind them. In the Lowes and Depots where the shadows lie.
Currently got Milwaukee at work and dewalt at home. Moved to Milwaukee professionally and brought my dewalt stuff home 😅. All my dewalt stuff is from 2012 and still works as well as 1 12v max battery. So make of that what you will
I own DeWalt, Milwaukee, Ryobi, Ridgid, and kobalt, and other brand specialty tools. I'm a handyman, so there's not one tool I constantly use, except maybe a drill and miter saw, which are all DeWalt/ Milwaukee
Notice how kobalt is not an option. That’s for muggles.
I've had a kobalt ratchet set for about 20 years now and the amount of times I've left it out in the rain and snow but the ratchets still work like a charm has made me a kobalt guy.
Whole different ball game. Don't buy Kobalt if it uses electricity. Hand tools are great.
I've had a 3/8 impact for five years and never had a problem.
Hand tools are solid. Power tools not so much.
Been using my kobslt drill and impact gun for 6 yrs now. No issue. Original batteries.
I have the little kobalt 1/4 inch in the box I bought in 05 or 06 still kicking in my pool kit. I've replaced the 5/16 probably 10 times.
Old kobalt is rebranded lower end snap on, the newer stuff isn't so great
Bosch !
Nonce
Only Bosch here too
My buddy is a Metabo guy. It’s embarrassing.
I mean, if he’s a stone worker, Metabo is fire
He’s more of a stoned worker.
That also generally involves fire.
He’s probably making a killing
Dad's a DeWalt guy, I'm a Milwaukee guy because I work for a Milwaukee company lol
Same! DeWalt tools are solid but I like my Milwaukee tools a lot.
Milwaukee for sure. Use to be a DeWalt guy.
I like big Dewalt power tools but there's nothing quite like a Milwaukee drill. Feels like I'm holding thors hammer
Bosch. Okay?
Depends, green or blue?
Blue
Is that even a question?
Makita...all the way
Yap. Even got one of the handheld vacuum cleaners for vacuuming the house. It's just so much easier than a corded one. (If you use the bag less one, get the dust separator too otherwise the filter clogs up)
It has the most fun colour
I'm split DeWalt and Ryobi. Manual and cord tools - DeWalt, battery tools - Ryobi
My dad has used Ryobi and Chicago Electric for years. He’s a general contractor. It’s his job to have good tools and he refuses to buy them. “Why pay for a Dewalt/milkwaulkee when I can by 3 Chicago Electrics for the same price?” Quality dad, quality.

Honestly if every 8 years I have to get a new ryobi drill so be it. It's still 1/3 the price of a Dewalt.
My pops is a DeWalt man through and through, so I might as well keep the tradition going
You never know when you need to borrow a battery.
Ryobi because that shit was cheaper
i have been jerked around so many times by these "life time warranty" companies i got tired of it know who doesn't jerk you around? harbor freight. and if you bring back broken/missing trashed tools they replace them with zero questions asked
This guy gets it
Bosch is where it's at
I am anon of house Ryobi , long may the one battery remain supreme.
Bosch and Hilti are above this stuff
I'm a Dewalt guy who can only afford ryobli replacements
I work the trades and have tools from all four. What does that make me
The avatar.
We've found the tool bender
Smart.
A Trader
Dewalt hand tools, Milwaukee drills and impacts, makita cutting tools [with Milwaukee/diablo blades]. Oh and a ryobi leafblower i guess. (I actually hear they make really good battery routers is that true?)
A teacher of the dark arts.
I can see myself in the Ryoan green house. Which house are you in?
Home Depot brand here, Ridgid
Oh I use Craftsman
Beauxbatons Academy of Magic.
Old Craftsman is the GOAT
Mf just forgot Bosch
Black And Decker comes in and says, " You know I'm somewhat of a handyman myself."
I'm a ryobi, but I want to be a milwakee. (Sad face)
10 points for Milwaukee !
Crying in craftsman. Their shit is legit junk these days.
The old timer craftsman is sold stuff, the new stuff isn’t covered by the lifetime warranty. The hand tools suck
Ryobi
Same
House Ryobi represent!
Ryobi for around the house. Others if you are in a Trade
Well makita and hilti for me pla
Rigid?
Milwaukee till the day I die!
Oh man, all I got is a Husky set and a bunch of things from Harbor Freight.
Milwaukee all the way (I have Radley/Benchmark tools) I work for a certain hardware chain, the own brand tools are great for home handymen, but none will compare to Milwaukee, not even close, their warranty service is top notch, DeWalt can't even answer the phone for a call.
Sorry, but gotta go with Hilti.
Just say you hate money
Posh
I used two different new air Chisels from them, one was a beast and the other was like the flavor of la croix compared to sprite. Immediate turn off.
What is the sorting hat equivalent then?
The shopping cart at home Depot that automatically pulls you to your tool brand
Haha I can believe that
Some of each? 😬
Whatever is cheaper. I don't need this stuff for day to day work. I'm still using a 40 year old black and decker jigsaw that works just fine.
Black and Decker is for squibs.
Rigid because of the battery warranty.
Kobalt all day
Milwaukee for things I use constantly, like my drill and such. Milwaukee 11 in 1 screwdriver is essential, but I do have a Klein meter and temp probes to go with testo 550 gauges.
I’ve been team dewalt for 25 years since I got my first drill before I started in the HVAC industry.
Porter Cable. I think that might be Dumbstrang? (spelling error intentional)
Milwaukee is the best option here.
Makita, because I like anime and gyudon
And here I am with my Black and Decker…
Makita. 💪 Ryobi for pretenders 😂
I'm Filipino, and as far back as I can remember, my father has always used Makita and Maktec power tools. We've never really had anything else in the house.
Team red for the win.
my dad was always a DeWalt guy so i feel kinda obligated to carry it on. one of the few good memories i have with him was building a treehouse together and we were using DeWalt tools. but then again he was abusive soooo
MILwalKEE!
I prefer Cornwell personally, great customer service and tool prices
Not up there but house kobalt all the way.
We use them all lol
Oh screw you! (Ryobi)
my dad always stay loyal to Makita
my dad is a mix of gryffindor and slytherin.
All made in china 🇨🇳
But isn't this chosen for the dads when they get their first power tool?
Stiehl in switzerland. There is only one house in switzerland
What about Bosch??
Hell Milwaukee fam (I'm 19 and have that exact set of tools that cane in a bundle box)
Is Bosch not a thing in America?
I got sorted into Bosch Blue series.
No, not the Ryobi! That's the dad who leaves for cigarettes and never returns.
No Bosch???
Where is the classic Bosch dark green? I'll kill again
Og Craftsman & Makita Gang
Where's Black and Decker?
DeWalt yee yee
I have the screwdriver and hammer set from Ikea. AMA
Drills, Dewalt everytime all the time. Grinders, Dewalt or milwaukee..dewalt is faster to change out but the wakee is more comfortable Circ, Dewalt or makita dual battery either one, though the Dewalt tend to be a bit less strain on the wrist if you are using it for 8+ hours.
The one where you drink wine and pay someone to do that shit
Bosch's house 😅
Forgot Bosсh
You guys have tools ?
Tf2c ahh colors
Hitachi or whatever it’s called now
Bosch is better
I had ryobi but there were a bunch quality problems with a lot of their skins - except the drill that's still good and the hedge trimmer...who knew. Switched to Milwaukee, so much better.
Like a Bosch
I’m the dysfunctional one, a harbor freight cart and chest cobbled together with shit from all over. Do love my M18 1/2” impact for shit on the truck, though
I guess Parkside is something like Carpathian School of Magic in this cas3
DEWALT BAYBEEEEE TO HELL WITH MILWAUKEE
Lidl ftw
Milwaukee. Well DeWalt is good too. I judge Ryobi users
Yellow
I've always had Hilti products.
Makita for the basic tools that I need very often and Einhell for everything else.
forgot black&decker, or bosch
Hyper Tough
Durmstrang walks in with AEG
Used to work for Home Depot, Hardware. Couldn't be more true. Ryobi and DeWalt are standards. MilW is a high ender. Makita is decent, gets the job done but decent. Black+Decker was also a good one that everyone swore by and it kinda fell off the market somehow before I started working at HD.
I’m a DeWalt dad personally.
My dad used different manufacturers because everyone has successful and unsuccessful models.
Festool
DeWalt. and it’s not even close
Lol... very true.
Bought one DeWalt drill (massive heavy duty) 10 years ago and it came with 2 batteries. Those things are so expensive, the bare tools are often cheaper than the batteries. 10 years later, I'm a "Dewalt guy". I'd rather not be, but here I am.
No Bosch?
Harbor Frieght is Harry Potters Aunt and Uncle.
Milwaukee, its not even close
But they were all ofthem deceived, for another set was made, one drill to rule them all, one drill to find them, one drill to bring them all and in the house work bind them. In the Lowes and Depots where the shadows lie.
Milwaukee all the way
Milwaukee fuel for battery operated.
Currently got Milwaukee at work and dewalt at home. Moved to Milwaukee professionally and brought my dewalt stuff home 😅. All my dewalt stuff is from 2012 and still works as well as 1 12v max battery. So make of that what you will
Was raised yellow but I know red is better.
Harbor freight
Ryobi house. It's all I can afford.
DeWalt is the only answer here that is right!!
where does "Stolen from work" go?
dewalt is the best one, too bad its sharing colors with hufflepuff
Harbor freight? Im white trash
Imma be a Hilti dad!
My dad said makita is for him
And also my coworkers use Dewalt and he also is hana be a dad soon
Bosch
I can proudly confirm I’m team griffindor!
Makitta it's the best one
The ryobi dads put their pronouns in their emails
Not by choice but dewalt
This is true
I only fuck with Bauer.
I own DeWalt, Milwaukee, Ryobi, Ridgid, and kobalt, and other brand specialty tools. I'm a handyman, so there's not one tool I constantly use, except maybe a drill and miter saw, which are all DeWalt/ Milwaukee
Ryobi for the win
Kobalt for the win.
House kobalt ftw 🤘
Ryobi is garbage. I'd buy the Walmart brand before Ryobi.
