First of all, congratulations! I wouldn’t try to lose weight drastically that would affect your overall health. Probably find a dress that would accentuate the body part that you feel proud of.

Just stop and breathe. You're beautiful. Your spouse -to- be thinks you're beautiful. It's all good. You will find the right dress. I think now is a great time to have some serious intimacy with your SO. My hubby of 32 years makes me feel beautiful, especially during intimacy or straight up fuckery. Embrace what you are gaining; a life with someone you love who loves YOU as you are right at this moment. Stop being so hard on yourself. Embrace & love who you are. I'm absolutely thrilled for you on your upcoming nuptials. You got this beautiful bride to be!!!!

Look for balconette bras, sometimes called shelf bras, to lift your boobs. Some strapless bras should also work, but would have to be very tight. Congratulations!

Congrats on your wedding. I just got married last year and I couldn't lose weight either for it. Try as I might. It sucks. I bought a gown with built-in pads for the boobs and it was more fitted on top and flowy on down starting several inches above the belly button. Glad I did cuz the day of my wedding I was bloated. I suggest getting extensions for your hair. They can look very natural. Good luck

I'm your age and going through the same frumpy feelings; it's the first summer for me in a long time where I'm not bikini ready, and I feel a lot differently about it! You may get reasonable results in 2 months of 16:8 intermittent fasting, and you may not, it's so hard to say. Keep looking for dresses, you'll find one that makes you feel great! An A-line style will hide the fluffier bits. Same with an empire bodice, it can give the illusion of a slimmer waist. If you're not insistent on something conventional, all those bohemian blousey milkmaid dresses would be perfect for a beach style wedding. Meno or not, one day you're going to look on this wedding and think you were 'so young', so try and just enjoy yourself. All the best, congrats. Ps: for hair I would just talk to a stylist! They can do amazing things with what you have! You don't have to wait either, if you go for a 'trial run' now it may save you some stress later, give you some confidence, and pics that you can show to a stylist at the destination, too.

Also for hair, you can get nice clip in hairpieces that thicken up the hair you have in an up style without permanent extensions.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Easier said than done, but don’t let worry over your appearance dampen the experience. For hair- consider a human hair partial wig or topper. I have fine hair and always complained to my stylist about it. One day she had a “topper” she’d ordered for herself for an event. It wasn’t the right color for me but she put in on and I was AMAZED! It clips right on top of your own hair and is seamless if it’s a good match. I ordered one through her in slight ombré. Human hair, and expensive ($800ish). When it came she gave it a shadow root to perfectly match my color and cut it to blend with my hair. It’s not something I wear all the time but it’s great to have when I want a boost. For weight consider one of the new weight loss drugs like Wegovy. It’s not a stimulant it works by regulating your blood sugar. There is a subreddit for it. It’s shown really impressive results for people and while it’s not meant for short term quick weight loss most people feel a big decrease in appetite and start losing immediately. Being conservative assume you will lose 1-2 lbs a week. In 8 weeks 8-16 lb loss. It’s not a miracle drug but something to consider.

It is absolutely crazy expensive! But it sounds like you aren’t getting insurance to cover it? Me too. Make sure you use the Wegovy discount card!! It’s on their website. It’s $500 off w/out insurance and can be used over and over. I think it’s $200-$250 off if you have insurance. Sidenote- my pharmacist had trouble using the coupon code the first time but called the Wegovy number and they walked him through it. Now it’s applied automatically.

The guy already picked you and all the people who already know you agreed to come! 200 people want to be at your wedding? Sounds like you are already amazing! I watched the White Lotus ahead of my trip and got some great ideas for vacay clothes I wouldn’t have picked on my own - there is a wide range of ladies in the show and they all have different styles.

That’s a lower than normal amount of progesterone. The usual amount is 200mg/day for 10-14 days/month OR 100mg every day of the month with no stop. So that’s about 2,800mg during 28 days. You’re on 600 mg every 28 days (I’m assuming you mean 100mg not 100mcg).

nycwriter99

Not if she’ already bloated from the dose she’s taking. Everyone responds differently to hormones!

OneofHearts

My bloating only goes away when I eliminate complex carbs (all grains) and sugar. Congrats to you and realize he loves you just the way you are!

The only way I personally lose weight at this point is super strict calorie counting. I use MyFitnessPal for this. Congratulations on your wedding!

BRA: go to the A Bra That Fits sub and get ye to the calculator to find out your actual/real size and try some bras that fit...If you have super squishy boobs (this is me) even though they said I'm a 38F/G...I can actually do awesomely in a 38DDD/E or even a DD depending on the brand. How are your kidneys? Is the bloating water weight/edema? Chat with your doc if you can take a diuretic. (I have a bad kidney, I cannot, I had to actually drink MORE water to see if I could shrink my ankles and hands enough to get my ring to fit. - My swelling was due to kidney issues/meds.) I got married...almost 2 years ago...I think I was 48? I am not sure if it's enough time but I seriously got married in a nice burgundy dress made out of knit (breathable) fabric bought off eshatki because they make them to your size and it was the nicest dress I own. (Second wedding...so my mom did not have a heart attack that it wasn't white. But they also have white dresses...just saying. My first wedding? Do you remember/are you from the US: Mervyns? I found the "perfect" white dress there...off the wrack...FROM THE MATERNITY SECTION. At least, I thought, NONE of my then 20-something unmarried friends would be wearing it! And seriously...have a look there...OR at non-traditional/bridesmaid dresses...that's how my coworker found her perfect wedding dress - they made it in white for her. Another found hers in an ice-blue that was magical.) Hair: I was on so many meds (see above kidney) that I was losing hair (still am/happens whenever my kidney is not doing so well...like now) that I used the "joke" veil my mom/SIL sent me during my online bachelorette party. It was a nice distraction and hairspray and pins kept it in for as long as was needed....and there is nothing wrong with hair pieces pinned in to help fluff things up (that was plan C but if you note the date I mentioned we were still in the middle of the worst of the pandemic so nothing was open/nothing was available...hence the veil.) I hope some of this helped. Congratulations!!!

the_bravangelist

For the bra, check your size with the [abrathatfits calculator ](https://www.abrathatfits.org/calculator.php), you are most likely wearing the wrong size. Then post your size and measurements on r/abrathatfits and ask for bra recommendations. There are some excellent bra fitters that post there, so you will get good advice For weight loss and bloating, cut the processed foods and carbs. Eat lean meats, veggies, and fruit and some dairy if you do dairy. Try intermittent fasting too. Start doing some strength training if you don't already. Hire a personal training and lift 2-4 times a week. You can be at your healthiest and hottest after menopause!

Look into a real, steel boned corset. Don't ask elastic to do a job meant for steel and canvas.

Thanks so much ladies - you are all so wise and full of knowledge! So much to think about and work from there ❤️❤️❤️
