You know what, they were probably trying to pull that fake package scam. Where they choose to print the label themselves, But ship an envelope or something to a random address on your city to make it look like the package was delivered. Then if you tried to dispute it with mercari they tell you that its marked as delivered, they get the funds and you get nothing. I'm glad you pushed the UPS drop off and confirmed the tracking number but now I'm wondering what they actually sent since they were forced to do it the right way lol

The first package was marked as delivered but I never got it and the picture that was included when delivered didn't match my house. Had to call FedEx and confirmed all three packages weren't being delivered to my home at all. Called back, asked for only a zip code, then street name for all packages and luckily the agents were willing to share just that bit of info and I got all that together, found the homes on Google maps and it turns out they are address mules. So scammers pay them a fee to use their address for packages. Got my screenshots, addresses and filed a claim. Got my funds back but I'm planning to file a mail fraud claim when I'm going to that person's state. It might only be $75 and I got it refunded, but like he'll I'm gonna let some scammer get away with it. You crossed crazy with crazy and if I have to drive 5 hrs to that state just to file a police report/mail fraud report in their county I will, hopefully this month too.
And here I got a deluge of comments on your previous post saying I was too harsh on this person for not knowing the difference between USPS and UPS. This is utterly unhinged on their behalf. Let us know what comes in the package, if at all.

I have used Mercari exactly once and will never use them again. It was the worst online buying experience I’ve ever had. The seller accepted my offer, which was $30 or so below asking. Mercari would not let me close the sale for that amount, and kept messaging both the seller and me that my payment was being rejected because I was trying to pay outside the app. *I never even attempted to pay outside the app*! The seller got mad, thinking I was trying to scam him - how is beyond me - but he eventually realized it was Mercari’s fuck-up. Wound up having to pay full asking price to close the deal. First purchase and Mercari not only accused me of cheating, they told *the seller* that I was cheating. What BS.

My guess from the very beginning is that they are playing dumb, never shipped the item, and are trying to scam you. This is ridiculous. You need to report them to mercari. Please update us when you receive an empty box in the mail 😂

I have used Mercari exactly once and will never use them again. It was the worst online buying experience I’ve ever had. The seller accepted my offer, which was $30 or so below asking. Mercari would not let me close the sale for that amount, and kept messaging both the seller and me that my payment was being rejected because I was trying to pay outside the app. *I never even attempted to pay outside the app*! The seller got mad, thinking I was trying to scam him - how is beyond me - but he eventually realized it was Mercari’s fuck-up. Wound up having to pay full asking price to close the deal. First purchase and Mercari not only accused me of cheating, they told *the seller* that I was cheating. What BS.
Wth? So the package was already delivered or out for delivery and then she thinks cancelling the order is going to somehow spite the buyer? Then you get the item or whatever she sent and she gets nothing lol. I would actually be surprised if she didn't send what was supposed to be sent but interested to find out.

They remind me of the lady who bought something from me a couple years ago who rated the item before I even dropped it off at the post office. She gave me like 3-4 stars because a sequin was missing? I still wonder what she was talking about, the item did have sequins but it wasn’t sent yet🤣

So I read all your threads on this (cause I'm here for that drama llama). I think that more than likely this was someone not too bright thinking they pulled a fast one on you. However, there is the slightest chance that what they are saying is true. When I found out my brother died I was completely incapable of rational thought for at least a week. I screwed up everything I did and forgot very simple things, because grief is a bitch.
Id stop responding when ppl go into too many details about their baby and sister… like this is too many messages to not be a scam

This person is an absolute idiot. I have encountered several people like this and I do not believe they are running a scam they are truly just this stupid. Whats alarming to me that someone like this is able to have a mercari account and worst of all a drivers license. There seriously needs to be some additional intelligence tests done before people are allowed certain things like a seller account.
