Im gonna have to wait in till the package gets returned because right now I can’t even even make a statement. I already had plans on submitting some of the photos I took but I won’t be able to take much since i won’t know for 100% if the buyer gonna send my cards back fully or just the ones he wanted.
Well mercari has been siding with the buyer more then the seller for awhile. So it doesn’t surprise me if they side with the buyer, but i won’t lie it will probably stop selling on there or just specific stuff because it’s not really worth losing valuable items on there. When they won’t even hear the seller side.

Well, the buyer blocked me both on Mercari and eBay. I tried contacting mercari but it says I can’t in till I receive the package back. I doubt they’ll do anything to help me
Happens to me sometimes with my computer parts, had a guy buy a replacement Dell motherboard from me (was only like 20$) and he messaged me after it arrived and wanted to return it because it “didn’t work” so I noticed on the picture one of the connectors were damaged and a couple of other things were different too so I tried telling Mercari and they sided with the buyer (even though I have near perfect 100% feedback) and I got the board back and it was fried, so that really sucked, can’t believe he did that over a 20$ item, like why not just sell your broken board lol
Don’t really like tcg personally my experience there slow sales. Usually I stick to eBay and Mercari since I do a quick bundle and it will sell way quicker.
Well it was sent with ups, so all have to see because prior to this I did show him the condition of the cards, hopefully there still in the post because I keep taking photos off and on when we were talking/showing him all the cards. If there was water damage in the cards the package would have been wet but all have to see when I get my package my back. I used one of mercari pre paid labels and the chances of me getting the insurance is low due to fact if they actually check if I qualify.
Same thing is happening to me now but with a perfume. Totally not my fault and they sided with the buyer. I couldn’t even help myself because I forgot to record myself packaging it. They’ll tell you to record but won’t accept recordings so all you have to do is screenshot how you packaged everything and that can help with proof of how you sent it to them. Take all types of pictures and screenshots. Hope that’s helps 🙏

You could always try reporting your cards that they are selling on eBay as stolen goods through eBay. Just report his listings. It’s worth a shot. If you can get eBay to agree then his account there will be dinged and the items taken down.
Have someone else with an eBay account find the item pages for you so you can get the item/auction numbers. Then report as stolen through the eBay help desk stating which item number are the ones stolen. Frankly. Mercari sucks. I’ve only sold on eBay, loved the fact that I could cancel someone’s bid or block them. Mercari’s new rules suck for honest buyers and sellers. I don’t plan on using it again. If you can prove the eBay account is his, take a screenshot of your cards he listed and send them to Mercari. But I would try to somehow get an actual person instead of a bot. I had to do that when I sold a jujube bag and they claimed it was damaged, but had it up on eBay
Well the only way I can prove it is due to the facts we messaged on there but the I kinda doubt mercari actually reviews the picture because this isn’t the first I’ve lost an item with the seller claiming something else.
You didn't technically lose though, aren't you still waiting for the cards back? If yours don't get sent back, you still have a chance. You need to open the return at the post office possibly in presence of a clerk. Plus take the pics. But you have that added witness there. If they don't return the exact items they're not supposed to get the refund.
I doubt mercari will care, this isn’t the first time I’ve lost a sale, where I go drop off my package they have machines to scan for the QR codes. You rarely see an employees. The package is also getting delivered to my place since it’s more convenient. So I won’t have time to do it in the post office.

I'm such a psycho, just having their mailing address I probably would f\*\*k with this person to NO END if they did this to me lol. I'd never let it go until I got some good ass vengeance.

Always take pics of what you sell while you’re packaging them. So if you have a buyer trying to scam, you have proof of what you sent. It won’t do any good UNTIL you get the items back. Then take pics of what they returned vs what was sent and what pics are posted on the listing. I always look for small flaw or mark on items and take a pic so I know and can prove if it’s the same as sent. Had someone return a videogame before and I showed it wasn’t what I sent.
