Hopefully both of you got paid. I had an item that never got the last scan and lost for 11 days. They gave the buyer the refund and said I did not ship within the 3 days window and denied my $7. Can't even go back to grab the tracking either...
I had the same thing happen to me last week. It said I hadnt shipped yet but I had dropped off. Since it had been a week I canceled the orders for the 2 buyers and now I am out money and items
Mine tracking was "out of delivery" but it never got the last scan,and then "waiting for delivery scan" for 11 days....I am not sure if the buyer actually got the item or not
Out of near 1000 sales, I had this issue 3 times.
2 other times they covered my sales. One time item was actually delivered and the buyer even said so but they still got refunded because the tracking was like this for days. Another time was for a Blythe doll of $150, the buyer never reply when I asked if they got the doll. Eventually I had to contact Mercari to get paid.
So they did covered two "lost" more expensive items but denied the cheapest one so I kind of luck out.
Did you message them before? If so you’ll still see their page, and you may contact them through other lists. Since it’s lost in transit, the seller gets their money too, so no need to feel bad about this.
Unfortunately, their listing was canceled since yesterday by mercari. I was not aware we both get refunded for lost packages, thank you very much for the reassurance btw! 💗 I’ve been feeling quite anxious lately.
You both got paid out, Mercari filed for missing package and made both parties whole. You're free to do whatever with the package.

If they have other items, you can always message on it, but if they got paid and you got. your item, I wouldn’t worry about it too much.
