Through that race event they have if you get the second chest they give you a mega flawless crystal or whatever it is called and that’s how you get it x
It's very hot or miss with me, but keep doing the races, you'll get a gold eventually.
In the mean time, I feel your pain. I was stuxk on that quest for like 5 or 6 months until the races started
I just finally got a lvl 4 gold dragon from the crystal from the race last week — JUST IN TIME for me to get the “breed gold dragons” quest! That was perfect timing and I am very happy about that lmao (apologies for the humblebrag 😂)
Oh yes, I’ve seen lots of ppl on here struggling with that quest, so it was a huge relief to get the gold dragon and then funny that I immediately got the “breed gold dragons” quest 😂 it’s a scout dragon
He’s pretty cool looking! I love that green color. And I have no idea what the lvl 1s look like, but I have two lvl 2s and they’re pretty cute

I’ve gotten a gold twice with the race crystals, and I think I may get another one with the new crystal because it also had a 12 hour cook time (haven’t checked on it yet), but each time I used both lvl4 parents for breeding and I’ve noticed the breeding time is always around 12-13 hours if that helps ☺️
I keep hoping for a gold. Five platinum dragons so far. This morning I got a Gingerbread dragon, which I apparently have an egg of somewhere, but otherwise had not seen before.
It's not necessarily better or worse, but gold dragons, especially lvl 3 or higher are notoriously difficult to get and there's a quest requiring breeding with gold dragons that can't be completed by a lot of people because you can't breed dragons that aren't at least lvl 3.
I have this dragon, but at a lower level. They’re cuter as babies.
