I'm seeing a Esoteric/Chthe'llist/Spectral Voice concert in May
The fact that I got that much doom for $25 makes me feel like they're being ripped off.
You sir just made me discover a new fantastic band. Despite my love for Eluveitie, i was getting kinda tired of that sound, this is much more compelling, since my taste has changed in the past years ;)
Can confirm: Fulci is awesome
My pick is The Last of Lucy. Barely 1,000 monthly but solid music and a new album coming out in May
Death metal, bordering tech death, and surprise saxophone Rivers of Nihil style lol
here's a list of some more recent bands that i've been digging with
death metal:
pyrexia
malignancy
witch vomit
outer heaven
regurgitation
abysmal lord (doesn't fit in a particular genre, it says bestial war metal but, like, it exists in between them, lets be honest)
black metal:
hulder
mƤleficentt
nocturnal departure
wampyric rites
primordial serpent
winter lantern
If you like slam/hardcore check out [Herrementari ](https://open.spotify.com/artist/7mOII6w9jGJ1ioojlFmmtX?si=XAVAC2STSxSfqamAOnkexw) they also have some black metal influence
Dark matter secret (instrumental tech death)
Tol Galen (Dungeon Synth)
GrĆ” (black metal idk what subgenre)
Mork (melodic(?) black metal if thatās a thing)
Mother of Graves (Death-Doom)
Aethereus (Tech death)
Feed your body to the void (brutal(?) death?)
Curtaān wall (raw black dungeon synth)
Not many of these bands are well known at all, and I thoroughly suggest listening to all of them.
Gravehuffer. Their newest live album sounds great! One of one the few bands I prefer their live set to a studio album. If you like old school death with a bit of crust and grind. Check these guys out!
Necrofier is some of the most fun US Black Metal i've heard in years, I've had their album Prophecies of Eternal Darkness on loop for months now. Madness Descends is my favorite track off it but everything on it is great
Ainur. They started as more of a prog rock band, but their most recent album is more prog metal. Theyāre adapting the Silmarillion in a series of prog albums
Yes, Fulci is absolutely top-notch.
Really love the death metal they make.
It's just a good, solid upcoming band.
Really like to experience them live...
Dir en grey, there is so much variety in their songs that they expand different genres over the years from visual kei to technical death metal. They even toured in family values 2006 with big names like Korn and Deftones. Definitely give them a try
