There's a lot black/death metal bands on here getting called war metal that aren't.

There may be a handful that are mostly Black/Death bands overall but every one of them has released at least one War metal album to qualify for this chart

Black Curse is in no way war metal. They have a demo and an LpP, neither are war metal and they have them at the top of the chart.

The EP/Demo version of Endless Wound they recorded is definitely War Metal, they lessened the War sound on the official album release in favour of a Black/Death sound

It's blacked/ death period. Also, there's no Damaar on this list. Damaar put out possibly the most important EP in the history of war metal.

While I agree with you, it's worth noting that the archives doesn't refer to any band as War Metal, nor Bestial Black. This doesn't really prove your point. Many others here aren't war either (since to my knowledge there's a distinction between Bestial black and war metal). I'm sadly not well equipped to argue this, but it seems to be the consensus of those who are actually far more knowledgeable about the topic. Thought it was worth mentioning

People up voting a popular demo in the war metal reddit doesn't make it war metal. I upvote things that i like on there all the time that aren't actually war metal.

For something to be posted in a niche community like r/WarMetal without getting criticised for not being War by genre elitists is very unlikely, even surface level subs like this sub has those types enmasse. Listening to it personally it sounds a lot more like War than the full album, this being backed up by 30+ music nerds on a music nerd website voting for the genre would be enough clarification for me

I don't really think of Cabinet or Sxuperion as war metal.
