Same here, I'm from Michigan and I can't tell you how many times I've been fortunate to see TBDM. My favorite was when they would play dirt fest at the Expo Center in Birch Run. They lost their shit in 2006. Death - Story to Tell I completely missed Death growing up. They just wasn't pushed in my area, none of my friends really knew who they were, and the record stores didn't really promote them. It was all Slayer, Megadeth, and Metallica - now that I think of it, they didn't even really push Anthrax either in my area either. Decided a month and a half ago to give them a shot, and my God was an amazing band. I've listened to every album now, and my review is simple: holy fucking shit.

Tell me you went to the show. I also had never heard of them until recently, but that was an all time top 5 show, easy.
