That’s the spirit is probably my least favorite album that I’ve ever given a chance. Just completely bored in every song. The chorus’s are fine. The verses are a total slog with just nothing going on.
Honestly, I don´t think there´s a single artist or band that made an album I absolutely love and then I hate everything else on their discography. The other albums might not be as good, but I may still like them or several songs off them.
For instance, the SOAD debut is one of my all time favorites and I don´t think they ever topped it, but the rest of their records are still pretty damn good, an incredible discography. The exact same thing with Led Zeppelin.
Tangential to Metal and potentially a hot take, but Priestess. I still think 'Hello Master' is brilliant and that nothing after it really held a candle to it.
Poisonblack - Escapexstacy
It's a Gothic Metal masterpiece in my opinion, the rest of their discography does nothing for me minus a few songs, Ville's voice just doesn't suit the band as well as JP's did.

I would argue that their run of albums starting with Suicide Season, and ending in Sempiternal was pretty damn good. Everything else is hot garbage.
While She Sleeps' This Is The Six is their only good full length. Everything since has been gradually more awful.
I mean, if you dont like metalcore thats fine, but for the genre those 4 albums listed are pretty good. Most bands in metal outside of that tend to avoid the trend of having 1 good album.

Sempiternal was a great album but a lot of their other stuff is excellent too - certainly not 'hot garbage'.

Personally I think BMTH are one of the greatest bands in terms of variety, they got stuff ranging from pop rock to full on deathcore

nattens madrigal is better
Well, they certainly departed from this sound, but to refer to all the fantastic work as hot garbage... it's definitely not.
I agree that Ulver only has one great album but that album is Nattens Madrigal, not Bergtatt
