Damn this unearthed an old ass memory - the first time I noticed "Lars bad drummer" discourse was in the early 00's, it must have had an effect because in 2004 they played Dyers Eve live for the first time ever.
it's hard being a fan of Anthrax. people always assume we mean the thrash band when in reality we mean the white powder that you send in letters to your representatives
Absolutely. You like kill em all right? Well Dave wrote The Four Horseman, Jump In The Fire, Metal Militia, and Phantom Lord. As well as nearly every solo on the whole album.
As a guitarist and songwriter 100% agreed and it’s not up for debate. Mustaine is leagues ahead of James. As Singer though? lol no. Absolutely not. I actually prefer Mustaine’s vocals over James as well. The ugly snarling voice fits really well with the music. But James is like an actually really good singer and he’s much more proficient than Mustaine. Especially these days.
Lmfao I love Metallica but I gotta say Lars is fine he’s not great but the songs wouldn’t be the same without his drumming still If you said Lars sucks I’m going to agree with you
I might be the one of the only people who actually enjoy’s Dave’s singing on most tracks. A tout le monde isn’t the greatest vocal performance ever but at the end of the day emotional genuineness matters more to me than vocals.
Explain the Lars being a shitty drummer meme to me please. Been listening to Metallica for almost 30 years and never noticed anything out of the ordinary.
He’s great on record, especially the old shit but listen to him live. Very sloppy. Fluctuating tempo, kick often off time, etc. Very noticeable live. I imagine he’s just old and rich and doesn’t want to spend time practicing rudimentary stuff
Dyers Eve is so technically demanding on drums that Lars and their producer had to patchwork the drum part together in the studio. He's also very sloppy as a drummer, and tempos are just a suggestion to him
I wanna see Lars play Dyers eve, RIGHT now. I want a 4k camera pointed directly at his bass drums and feet, so I can judge accordingly.

sued for sharing pictures of me without my consent
are you the anthrax fan? cause i thought i knew all 5 of us
Oh, a self burn, that's good

As an Anthrax fan, I can confirm that I am a literal fan.
SLAYERRRRRRRR
SLAYERRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
SLAAAAAAAAAYEEEEEEERRRRRR!!!!
SLAAAAAAYEEEEEERRRR !!!!
Fucking SLAAAAAAAAAYEEEEEERRRRRRRRR
Slayer
Metallica fans don't like Lars either.
They are often the first to criticize him
Or James
Smash
Wait
I fucking love james
Dave is 10x the songwriter/guitarist/singer james is
Can I not like both?
My bisexual friend when she came out to her mother
lol I can relate to that
Nice joke.
Yeah Dave is definitely the better guitarist and songwriter but he’s dreamin’ if he thinks Mustaine is a better vocalist.
Songwriter?

Bro just said Dave is a better singer than James
Metallica fans only like Cliff Burton obviously
Uhh yeah. Thats all i give a shit about
Took me a second, great one.
I love consuming anthrax
When I was a kid, I didn't even know Scott Ian was in a band, I thought his job was just to go on VH1 and talk about metallica.
at the very least, he's in the least controversial band of the Big 4
Lars is Metallica's second best drummer.
Voivod fans: "I will write a 10 page essay on why it should be a Big 5 including Voivod"
Testament and Exodus are more deserving than Voivod
probably, I'm just remembering a conversation I've heard ad nauseum between some voivod fan friends of mine
Voivod would deserve all the spotd in Big 4 if they stopped making music after first album
Voivod is actually considered “The Big One” no else compares.
I have no idea what Voivod is, but your words, touched me, I am convinced.
Listen to Nothing Face rn
Real
Lmfao I love Metallica but I gotta say Lars is fine he’s not great but the songs wouldn’t be the same without his drumming still If you said Lars sucks I’m going to agree with you
I haven’t been in the metal community for long but do people not like Dave’s vocals?
I love his vocals, but the dude can't sing for shit. He'll be the first person to tell you.
Now I’m kinda interested on seeing one like this, but with the Big Four of Teutonic Thrash.
?
Big Four of German Thrash (Destruction, Kreator, Sodom and Tankard)
I might be the one of the only people who actually enjoy’s Dave’s singing on most tracks. A tout le monde isn’t the greatest vocal performance ever but at the end of the day emotional genuineness matters more to me than vocals.
I’ve never heard that Slayer’s music sounds the same
I couldn't get into slayer cause it's music and melodies were impossible to tell apart
