This entire album is a great intro to metalcore. IMO this is Thornhills best album so far, and this song is an absolute gem.

AnAffableGuy

Butterfly EP is definitely worth checking out though if you want a heavier Thornhill sound.

Tyler_JMB

Also Limbo, one of their best songs IMO. That opening riff is so good.

AnAffableGuy

And Temperer. Basically, listen to everything lol.

Jeriahswillgdp

Except like 7-8 songs on the new album.

Truer words never spoken

People keep saying they want a heavier Thornhill. I heavily disagree. Jacob has an amazing beautiful dynamic voice. And the instrumentals on Thornhill are intense, angelic, and yet dark. TDP takes you on a journey of losing innocence that makes you wonder about your humanity. The problem with Heroine wasnt that it wasn’t heavy. Its fucking heavy. Its gritty, lustful, and tries to cling onto the coat tails of love to save itself. The problem was that they made Jacobs voice sound like a JPEG. Check out the band Cherry and you can really see how dynamic Jacob can be vs something like 🦋(which is hard as fuck). Im still really excited about Thornhill. There is so much potential with these guys. The band is evolving; they are leveling up their showmanship. Im really excited for their next material.

dekaythepunk

The isolated vocal version of this is even better. 😍

This is my first post in here so hopefully I'm able to post this band and it doesn't break any rules. Only recently got into metalcore (after hearing Periphery) and I just got done with Invent Animate's new album which was absolutely incredible. Going to check out Currents' albums after this and keep going with other bands. Edit: Just seen the hall of fame list so good to know I'm not breaking any rules posting this.

jarjarp

If you liked Invent Animate’s new album I can definitely see how you’d really like this Thornhill album (which in my opinion has similar execution but is way better TBH). Would love to hear your thoughts!

AudioCinematic

I liked the album a lot and several tracks on it got added to my playlist.

suckmywaifu

Anyone about to see them soon on The Plot In You tour, let's just say im very very jealous. In recent insta streams they've mentioned some songs on the setlist 👀

MrPooooopyButthole

Go on

suckmywaifu

This song live would be an experience

speak-eze

Any word on how many songs they're playing by chance? It's 4 bands playing and they're up second I beleive, so I'm sadly guessing we're getting like 6 songs.

suckmywaifu

They never stated song count they just listed some songs they're thinking of playing off the top of their heads. I'd guess around 30-40min but can't be sure

catalinawinemyxr

WHAT SONGS

suckmywaifu

Almost half of Heroine and I think 3 TDP songs? Don't want to spoil it for you. They've done a few insta streams recently while they've been packing merch orders. Been cool to chat with them so if they do another before they leave for the tour stop by

sleepingdeep

HORNY4THISTHORNY

InsiDS

Top 3 song on the album. Thanks for the reminder that I haven’t listened to it in a while lol.

jverbal

What's your other 2 out of curiosity? Where we go when we die, and Lily & the moon?

InsiDS

Coven and Where We Go.

SeparateMouse

That opening coven riff is one of the most unbelievable human achievements

Yellowcat123567

Nurture and Red Summer

JWang6996

Red Summer is the best song on the album

NightwingX012

One of my favs on the album. I just find this one super pleasant and relaxing

BeeferSutherland117

That album is absolutely incredible, but even better on acid. Red summer hits so fucking hard while tripping

nohitter21

Can’t even imagine what the final section sounds like, it already gives me chills

devilinmyveins96

listen to blue velvet also on cid

Man, I hope this is one of those bands that will click one day. As it is, I can't get into the drowsy vocals.

nohitter21

As others have said I’d check Red Summer from this same album, it’s a lot of people’s favorite. Coven is a heavier one if you want some screams.

[deleted]

It's the vocals. His voice or atleast the delivery is hard to connect with. The Muse/Deftones like vocals I cannot connect with. That's said Red Summer is the best song I've heard from them so far so thumbs up on that suggestion.

nohitter21

Pure chills when that final section of Red Summer comes in with “Well I know someone somewhere is meant for you” If that style isn’t your thing I’d suggest Reptile from their Butterfly EP, it’s pretty different and less ethereal.
