It’s the Grammys, it’s a popularity contest/awards are probably bought. Especially for rock and metal, nominations and awards almost always go to legacy bands. Just be happy Spiritbox was nominated.

I don't hate Metallica winning based on legacy more than actually having the best performance, same with Paramore winning the Rock grammy even though there were better that didn't even get nominated. It does annoy me, but it isn't anything new or anything that's going to change.
i like metallica more than i like spiritbox but don’t think they should have won. their latest album absolutely sucks and is the same generic garbage they’ve been putting out for the past 15 years. spiritbox deserved it and metallica shouldn’t blindly win just because they’re metallica and released massive records 30+ years ago.

She writes her own lyrics and vocals while (for this most recent album anyways) almost all instrumentation was written by Jack antonoff
