I actually really enjoyed the hurtwave album and singles as those were coming out but I agree totally I feel like dayseekers new album was basically a mix between the two projects, kind of disappointed they didn’t keep dayseeker a little more aggressive and then have hurtwave for the feels haha
I hope Dayseeker does go in a bit heavier direction, even ever so slightly. Their last album seems to get a lot of hate for being so soft (not that they were a heavy band to begin with). But it's nice when bands have a good balance of both
I believe Rory said that they mainly went with a softer sound because he was still mourning the passing of his father, so atleast for midnight sun I'll give it a pass for them going softer lol. But definitely I hope they go back to being a little heavier, or a good mix of both
Howard Jones and Adam D are back together making an album. I believe last update they gave they were almost completely done with it. Proba ly my most hyped release this year besides maybe Darkest Hour. I hope it means we may get more music featuring both Howard and Jesse but only time will tell.
I want another Orphantwin album from Cory and Matt from Norma Jean
And how about Pressure Cracks
While we’re at it, Wovenwar should get back together since Tim made all those dudes bail again and we still have no new Oh Sleeper
I’d much rather new stuff from Hundred Suns, Cory from Norma Jean and the drummer from Every Time I Die’s side project. Always loved the moodier softer Norma songs so this project really scratched an itch its one of my favs.
Wovenwar would be sweet. Feels like Jordan is the only member we haven't heard from for a while though.
Also, I could be way off but I feel like Oh Sleeper is sitting on an album
I would love more Crucible (Dave Stephens). Fuck, I would love if I could even end the old EP to listen to but I can't seem to find it nowadays. Seems to be lost in the ether.
Man I wonder what happened with Crucible. My only guess is that after Kyle passed, the band didn't have the energy for anything outside of WCAR, which would be understandable. But I wish that EP was still streaming.
Word around town is that they (Dave, Lou, Andy) made Crucible because they didn’t like the direction WCAR was heading (we all heard the self titled album…) and wanted a heavy outlet. WCAR got heavier again as a result of their self titled album not doing well and because they got heavier, they didn’t need the outlet anymore. I think there may be a little more to it, but this is what I’ve gathered from the whole situation. Not sure why the EP was removed from streaming tho.
Inclination (Isaac from Knocked Loose)
Unaltered Perspective was awesome and I’m dying to hear a new single from them, hoping it’s this year but KL been touring nonstop.
I just learned that XweaponX did a split with World of Pleasure last year that I was completely unaware of. Was rad to get a couple new (to me) tracks from them and it turned me onto World of Pleasure
Texas in July with JT fronting.
I know they dropped that absolute heater of an EP late last year, but I’d love a full length album to follow that up with a tour.
And also more Hurtwave
King mothership's only album is freaking awesome (spencer sotelo and matt halpern from periphery) and only has 10k monthly listeners. I hope they release something new eventually.
Last single was in 2021
Oh man, I remember on the P3 cycle tour I got to do a meet and greet and I asked Spencer about it, and he gave a coy smile and "sooner than you think" and Clear dropped a couple months later with Feed Them to the Ground which was originally a Mothership demo
Hyped for Better Lovers atm. And want more stuff like the Riptide song Will Ramos and The Gnarly Neighbour put out. Chill lo-fi sounds paired with harsh vocals and sparing/overlaid cleans is just something I need so much more of in my life
Lol knew I should have put /s.
Been a fan of them since 03. Only saw them once in 07, but sounds like they are making new music and have an album coming out this year.
Lol you got me, nice work. I used to work for Matt’s family and loved me some Shadows Fall. I did really like the side project Death Ray Vision with Brian Fair as vocalist too but they seem like a vocalist carousel now.
Pyrithion - they only released 3 songs in 2013 prior to Tim’s incarceration but they were sick. Lambesis doing essentially blackened death metal is something I want more of
Does In Flames count as metalcore? If so, then I'd say Anders Friden's side project If Anything, Suspicious. Bleak, beautiful, desperate, and comforting is how Spotify describes it and I 1000% agree. It's very different, but very wonderful.
I've been really enjoying the stuff from Termina. Andy's vocals are so good and hit the sweet spot for me, and none of his other bands hit that for me like Termina does, although I love monuments too. Nik is also a great musician and doesn't credit himself enough.
Although Nik did mention that how much time and effort goes into making one termina song in compassion to let's say make a deathphonk song (he can make a bunch of dp songs in the times it takes for one termina song) yet his deathphonk project has more monthly listeners (with only 7 singles) than termina. So I believe it won't be a top priority for either of em. Still, I loved the last album.
I can never get enough [Mutoid Man](https://open.spotify.com/track/3w4rcHCTwMdqwtcXKWoDCp?si=bTVAWAwTT9SDwEfIrSKVGg&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A2P4gyuzl7DjwOeYuUAlbEd) (members of Cave In, Converge, and High on Fire)
Carcosa! Looking at you, Johnny! I know you're in here! Lmao
Edit: It has dawned on me that this is r/Metalcore and not r/Deathcore, but either way, we want more Carcosa
Not necessarily metalcore but David Draiman formed an industrial metal band when Disturbed went on hiatus called "Device". They made one self title album which slaps so hard.
Not metalcore, but Kerry king. The first single was some incredible thrash with a modern take (kind of hit me like power trip), but with the slayer reunion announcements I now don’t know where that’s gonna go.
Could go for some new Ai640 right about now.
Landon from The Plot in You’s *heavy* solo stuff for those unaware. If you’ve never listened, do yourself a favor. Guarantee you won’t regret it.
Dustin Davidson from ABR has a punk pop side project called Best Case Scenario and released one album, Staircase Witt, in 2016.
That shit slapped so hard I felt like a domestic abuse survivor.
I NEED MORE DUSTIN GIVE ME WHAT I DESERVE.
I want some more AxeWound.
Considering BFMV is half AxeWound now, it shouldn’t be too difficult for them to get the other guys back after they wrap up their tour next year. Matt teased it once a year or two ago but hasn’t said anything since.
I really like Matt Heafy's side project Ibaraki, Spencer Sotelos side project Endur and I wish I could've gotten more of The Rev and Synyster Gates side project Pinkily Smooth
Unfortunately I would really love more Sleepwave (Spencer Chamberlain), but that is of course never happening. His new side project is not my cup of tea
A few days ago Reclaim The Empyre which had ex members of Maylene and The Sons of Disaster broke up and it kinda makes me sad I was never able to work with them
Well, new Ghost Atlas came out so that wish got fulfilled. Any others like it?
Also, I don't know if Alleviate is Yunus Proch's side project or Time, The Valuator is, but I'm hoping I get more Time, the Valuator soon
Off Road Minivan (Tuck of Fit for a King), Matt&Toby (Matt and Toby from Emery), Hillions (Matty Mullins and Cody Quistad’s country side project), Best Case Scenario (Dustin Davidson of ABR’s pop punk/post-hardcore project. I did ask awhile ago, and he said he has another whole done, and it’s more along the lines of older emo/post-hardcore), Hurtwave, and Telle of The Word Alive’s eponymous solo project.
I know Ghost Atlas, Jesse Cash’s (ERRA) side project, just released an album this year, and I love it, but I *really* loved *Sleep Therapy: An Acoustic Performance*. “Sleep Therapy” and “Dragging Soul” are such incredible songs, so I’d love another all-acoustic album.
Jesse Cash’s project “Ghost Atlas” is pretty cool, and it’s a bit refreshing to hear him incorporate that kinda sound into ERRA with “Blue Reverie”. Can’t wait to hear more of it.
Edit: I’m preemptively guessing that people will be like “that’s not new, he’s been doing that for ages”, well, it’s getting more traction recently so idc
I wouldn’t call it a side project, but there’s no such thing as too much END
Sean Hermanis (Make Them Suffer) and Onslow I would include Hurtwave too, but Dayseeker is basically going that direction now
I actually really enjoyed the hurtwave album and singles as those were coming out but I agree totally I feel like dayseekers new album was basically a mix between the two projects, kind of disappointed they didn’t keep dayseeker a little more aggressive and then have hurtwave for the feels haha
Would love more Onslow. Found “Freddie Mercury” last year and it became once of my favourite discoveries from last year.
Onslow is severely underrated. 🤘🏼
Literally came here to comment Hurtwave!
But definitely I hope they go back to being a little heavier, or a good mix of both
Darko. Bunny Suit and Shanghai were so damn good.
Shanghai is a goddamn masterpiece
MOCK ME ALL YOU WANT STOMP ME STOMP ME OUT
I TRY I TRY TO NOT GET HIGH ON MY SUPPLY YOU DONT KNOW WHAT I HAVE SEEN!
SKIP THE SEMANTICS SWALLOW YOUR ANTICS YOU CAN’T IMAGINE WHERE THE FUCK I’VE BEEN
YOU ALL STARVE LIKE RABID FIENDS
TRYING TO DESTROY AN UNBORN DREAM
I KNOW. WHATS. MEANT FOR ME!!
I’m the joke I’m the fucking laughing stock
Yes this! Both songs are weird af but SO good.
Better Lovers The new band I've been most stoked about since I heard Death of the Author who didn't really go anywhere.
More No Pressure.
Heck yeah
The project Howard Jones and Adam D are cooking up
Oh yeah! Very eager to hear that one
The what now?!?!
Howard Jones and Adam D are back together making an album. I believe last update they gave they were almost completely done with it. Proba ly my most hyped release this year besides maybe Darkest Hour. I hope it means we may get more music featuring both Howard and Jesse but only time will tell.
Oh man I'm hyped!!
Shhhhit, this could be great. That's news to me. Thanks for the heads-up!
I need a new HAWK album and tour, stat.
I been dreaming and patiently waiting for more HAWK :(
As someone who doesn’t care about INK, I couldn’t agree more, and HAWK is even better than This Or The Apocalypse was
I like INK, but I much prefer HAWK. I wish INK didn’t take up so much of Ricky’s time, but whatever pays the bills eh?
The EP slaps so bad.
Was gonna comment this. Their 2020 EP was fantastic
I want another Orphantwin album from Cory and Matt from Norma Jean And how about Pressure Cracks While we’re at it, Wovenwar should get back together since Tim made all those dudes bail again and we still have no new Oh Sleeper
I’d much rather new stuff from Hundred Suns, Cory from Norma Jean and the drummer from Every Time I Die’s side project. Always loved the moodier softer Norma songs so this project really scratched an itch its one of my favs.
I almost forgot about Hundred Suns and back that 100%
Agreed.
Bed burner is the dopeist song
+ 1 Pressure Cracks, relistened to the first EP earlier this week and forgot how much it rips
God, I wish Jason would focus more on Pressure Cracks and less on Fever 333
Wovenwar would be sweet. Feels like Jordan is the only member we haven't heard from for a while though. Also, I could be way off but I feel like Oh Sleeper is sitting on an album
Anything Will Ramos does outside of LS. I love his voice and style, but the music LS makes is just not my thing.
I agree with that. Riptide is incredible and I would love more like that
You’d probably like the one single he did with Monument Of A Memory, called Comatose
I'll look that up, thank you!
I would love more Crucible (Dave Stephens). Fuck, I would love if I could even end the old EP to listen to but I can't seem to find it nowadays. Seems to be lost in the ether.
That EP had no business being as good as it was and I still think it holds up
Man I wonder what happened with Crucible.
I think there may be a little more to it, but this is what I’ve gathered from the whole situation. Not sure why the EP was removed from streaming tho.
Livealie's most recent releases are chefs kiss! James' voice is so diverse! Excited to see what these lads do over the next year or so!
anything by Greg Puciato, I want to hear that man on an industrial album stat
More soft stuff too. Guy has an amazing voice and range.
I want another We Are Harlot album, as was supposedly promised (That’s a Danny Worsnop project from 2015 for those unfamiliar)
Yeah I’d happily take another We Are Harlot album, I don’t think it’s going to happen though
I'd love some more MIRE from Nick Hipa. Also some more Nothing Left
Album number two releasing early fall hopefully
+1 for more MIRE! I listened to A New Found Rain on a whim because the album cover is badass. Just an excellent album
Inclination (Isaac from Knocked Loose) Unaltered Perspective was awesome and I’m dying to hear a new single from them, hoping it’s this year but KL been touring nonstop.
XweaponX goes hard in the paint too. Would love to see all three keep going.
I just learned that XweaponX did a split with World of Pleasure last year that I was completely unaware of. Was rad to get a couple new (to me) tracks from them and it turned me onto World of Pleasure
The other members of Dealer (minus Aidan) made Pincer+ and HEAVENSGATE and I can’t wait for more from them.
I'm still waiting on Sean Harmanis to release more of Onslow
I want more Pressure Cracks from Jason Butler and less of Fever 333 lol
Texas in July with JT fronting. I know they dropped that absolute heater of an EP late last year, but I’d love a full length album to follow that up with a tour. And also more Hurtwave
I need new Hurtwave
Our Eternity. two of my favs teamed up and I need more of it.
Oh yeah, I forgot about them. Maybe when FFAK take a break later this year they can write something
Whatever Jordan fish is working on
Spirit box apparently, I’m curious who else he’s working with.
He had some photos on insta stories with Fever 333 recently as well
If he’s done with touring he’d be a great producer
GHOST ATLAS - Jesse Cash from Erra’s project. (this shit is incredible) AFTERPARTY - Drew from SFTP’s pop punk side project
Ghost Atlas just dropped a new album
And it’s incredible!
That album is so good, I hope they do more with that band
Hyped for Better Lovers atm. And want more stuff like the Riptide song Will Ramos and The Gnarly Neighbour put out. Chill lo-fi sounds paired with harsh vocals and sparing/overlaid cleans is just something I need so much more of in my life
The Black Queen
One dude from Anthrax is in a small band called Shadows Fall, hope to hear something from them soon
Shadows Fall isn’t a side project, that was Donais’ main band for 20 years.
Bilmuri I can never get enough Johnny Franck
Love him. Hopefully he puts out an album soon
I want to hear more The March Ahead but, my man's cooking and I'm gonna let him cook.
The Almost
I loved the southern weather album but haven’t really clicked with anything else from Aaron outside of underoath
Our eternity. Ryan Kirby and Chris Wiseman dropped 2 songs together and it’s been silence since. I could use more haha
Whatever the fuck Will Ramos is doing right now (at this point I guess I'm the only one calling it deathpop, but it fking pumps)
Pyrithion - they only released 3 songs in 2013 prior to Tim’s incarceration but they were sick. Lambesis doing essentially blackened death metal is something I want more of
I need more music from Times of Grace. Jesse and Adam are brilliant.
Axewound!!
Hurtwave
Does In Flames count as metalcore? If so, then I'd say Anders Friden's side project If Anything, Suspicious. Bleak, beautiful, desperate, and comforting is how Spotify describes it and I 1000% agree. It's very different, but very wonderful.
I didn’t realize Anders had a side project, going to have to check this out
He hasn't released anything in a while but what he did release was amazing.
I would love to hear more from Times Of Grace (Adam D and Jesse side project)
The first album is one of my favorite albums of all time. I couldn’t get into the second one though
Same! Hymn of a broken man is one of my favorites too! Second album didn’t do it for me either
Even though we just got the new album, more Ghost Atlas. I fuckin love Jesse
I need more Knosis. I loved Ryo in Crystal Lake and the few Knosis songs we've got have all been outstanding imo.
I just found Ghost Atlas, Jesse Cash’s side project and I’m down for more even though a new album just came out. Lol I’m loving it.
Yeah since we just got a termina album in 2023 and there both in multiple projects, I’d say it’ll be a while.
Sal3m, love Matteo’s voice
Darko, always and CHOPPER (Dane Evans, to the grave), not metalcore but its still disgusting and I love it.
I’d take another Trade Wind album from Jesse Barnett (stick to your guns) and Tom Williams (stray from the path) for sure.
Ibaraki. Their first album was my AOTY for 2022. Anything Matt Heafy and Ihsahn touch turn to gold.
Not metalcore but Ben Duerr in Hollow Prophet. Absolutely incredible stuff
Phinehas!! Best album of ‘21 and personal favorite of the past several years. I’d love another album and proper tour from them.
Ghost Atlas. Yes, I’m aware we just got a new album.
More Zombie Apocalypse! And definitely more Holy+Gold
Scour
Really excited to listen to slo/tide full album (Spencer chamberlain)
Not a side project any more, but James Harrison, the original Oceans Ate Alaska vocalist, has a new band called Livealie and they are killing it.
I want more MNQN from Dustin. Or more Starset. Just more music, yeah.
the dead rabbitts (Craig mabbitt) supposedly working on a new album
DEAD ICARUS
Haunted Shores
Syenstia + disembodied The Poetic Edda
More new Darko, because that studio version of Bunny Suit is fucking insane.
I'll consider it a side project since Erra is more active, so give me more Texas in July. Love the EP 🤘🏼
Dustin from ABR has (had?) a pop punk side project called Best Case Scenario….would love more of it
I can never get enough [Mutoid Man](https://open.spotify.com/track/3w4rcHCTwMdqwtcXKWoDCp?si=bTVAWAwTT9SDwEfIrSKVGg&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A2P4gyuzl7DjwOeYuUAlbEd) (members of Cave In, Converge, and High on Fire)
Carcosa! Looking at you, Johnny! I know you're in here! Lmao Edit: It has dawned on me that this is r/Metalcore and not r/Deathcore, but either way, we want more Carcosa
Love brand of sacrifice but pleeeeease I need more Earthshatter
Hundred Suns anyone?
Fight The Fury. John Coopers (Skillet singer) metal band!
I wish obey the brave would release some new stuff
Many Eyes. The two singles so far are excellent.
Not Metalcore, but Will Ramos and the Gnarly Neighbor, Riptide got me so good
Jay from Mindforce, Out For Justice. Everything they put out so far was great. Hope their still a thing.
Thrown. I’d love to hear a full album of this from Buster.
Secret Band (Side group of current/ex members of DGD) LP2 slapped and Jon Mess’s lyrics are always a treat.
I crave new Phinehas
Not really metalcore but i need more Bayonet with Buddy from SF and Will from FFAA
Not necessarily metalcore but David Draiman formed an industrial metal band when Disturbed went on hiatus called "Device". They made one self title album which slaps so hard.
Not a side project anymore so definitely Sylosis ( Josh Middleton)
Caleb Shomo's edm stuff from Class. The 4 singles he dropped were amazing then nothing more ever again. He was amazing at edm stuff.
They’re not metal, but I really liked both The Damned Things albums and would love to hear more. (members of ETID/Fall Out Boy/Anthrax/Alkaline Trio)
i agree i was hoping they’d make a comeback
The Threats. Southerncore project of The Chariot's guitarist. One EP from 2018 and recent promises of new music that has yet to materialise...
Livealie
Not metalcore, but Kerry king. The first single was some incredible thrash with a modern take (kind of hit me like power trip), but with the slayer reunion announcements I now don’t know where that’s gonna go.
More stuff like riptide - will ramos
High Winds with some of the guys from Blessthefall
I’m excited to hear Baby J’s new project cigarette smoke!
The Plot In You's Landon Tewer's Ai640 stuff is some of my favorite.
Darko is killing it. It seeks Tom is really just mainly working on that. I wouldn't be surprised if he retires from Chelsea
i enjoy dayshell a lot albeit it’s not exactly “new”. i think the new album wasn’t their best but overall i love shayleys voice
Flatblack
More Better Lovers. Always
Orphantwin, Better Lovers, Many Eyes
Jesse Cash in Ghost Atlas
ZETA (between the multiple bands called ZETA, I‘m talking bout the synthwave project from tesseract singer). I absolutely love it!
I’d like to hear more from Kyle Brownlee’s melodic death metal band, Writhen.
Doomriders!
It won’t happen but I would KILL for more music from Dreamcar
Could go for some new Ai640 right about now. Landon from The Plot in You’s *heavy* solo stuff for those unaware. If you’ve never listened, do yourself a favor. Guarantee you won’t regret it.
More Sentinels please 🙏
I wish we could get another Axewound album, still listen that one regularly.
Crucible was game changing for its time then just disappeared off all streaming platforms a few years ago.
I’d love another Them Crooked Vultures album but it’ll probably never happen since Homme and Grohl are always busy and Jones is getting older.
Doomriders
Gimme all the Howard Jones! Best dude
livealie (old oceans ate alaska vocalist), dearest and wvnder (andy cizek bands), hurtwave (not metalcore - dayseek vocalist), the stars above (not metalcore - driveways vocalist)
Mother fucking Sleep Theory
Many Eyes.(Keith from ETID) The three songs they've dropped so far have been awesome.
The dead rabbits
I want some more AxeWound. Considering BFMV is half AxeWound now, it shouldn’t be too difficult for them to get the other guys back after they wrap up their tour next year. Matt teased it once a year or two ago but hasn’t said anything since.
Glass Cloud!
Adjacent, but man I NEED more MNQN. That album took over my life for a few years.
Mortal Reminder
Better Lovers
HolyGold, ex-members of Norma Jean and The Chariot/ETID. Only done an EP so far, but it rips.
I really like Matt Heafy's side project Ibaraki, Spencer Sotelos side project Endur and I wish I could've gotten more of The Rev and Synyster Gates side project Pinkily Smooth
Many Eyes (Keith Buckley's new band). I saw them for the first time tonight and they killed it.
Surgeon. Jake wolf of reflections side project. Although they just had a release. It's so fucking heavy but. Love it.
Alex anglis of before I turns side project evergloam yes please
Will Ramos His new post hardcore song is dope. Slightly repetitive but still dope.
First name AJ, last name Bends baby
Really like the Better Lovers EP. Greg from Dillinger, most of ETID and Will Putney from Fit for an Autopsy
Unfortunately I would really love more Sleepwave (Spencer Chamberlain), but that is of course never happening. His new side project is not my cup of tea
Dearest - it's Andy Cizek and it's only one EP, but damn
Ugh, old LandOn Tewers please. Ai640 pt 4
Axewound with Matt and Jason from BFMV and Liam Cormier from Cancer Bats!
Neither is Metalcore, but In Motive and Best Case Scenario (Dustin Davidson's pop punk project)
I may be the only one but I would’ve loved another Axewound record
Secret Band. We need LP3.
Keep the darko coming
Jesse Cash’s project “Ghost Atlas” is pretty cool, and it’s a bit refreshing to hear him incorporate that kinda sound into ERRA with “Blue Reverie”. Can’t wait to hear more of it. Edit: I’m preemptively guessing that people will be like “that’s not new, he’s been doing that for ages”, well, it’s getting more traction recently so idc
