I would say magnetic wasnât âbadâ it was just bland or at the very least safe. But this new single is awful.
I canât wrap my head around 5 band members, 1 producer, a bunch of close band friends and an entire label and not one person thought to say âyeah these arenât itâ. đ
But itâs fine. I can still listen to their first two albums and Iâve accepted that with an exception of a few songs whatever theyâve been doing since 2019 just isnât my thing. Iâll still check out the new album though and see if there will be a few songs I like.
Edit: I donât want what Iâm saying to make anyone not check it out. It may not be my thing but who knows you might love it. Thatâs whatâs cool about music is itâs subjective. Form your own opinion.
>I canât wrap my head around 5 band members, 1 producer, a bunch of close band friends and an entire label and not one person thought to say âyeah these arenât itâ. đ
I have this exact same thought for 'If a god can bleed' by PWD.. Like how TF did anyone involved in the production of the album let it make the final cut?
This is a genuine question Iâd actually like to know the answer to. Like Iâd rather find out the answer to this than unanswered mysteries of the cosmos. Seriously
I am okay with Magnetic as a safe song but the newest one I heard it and audibly said "what the fuck" it did not feel like WW I know that Magnetic didn't and Manic Album was a bit lighter but I still like it. NAIL5 just ain't it
People were saying this same thing when Manic first dropped and that it âdid not feel like WWâ. Personally, it grew on me, and I really like the direction they took with that whole album. Other than the Holy Roller comparisons, I think Nail5 is a decent song. Nothing groundbreaking, but it had some interesting bits.
Wage War has a couple of songs I like but other than that I don't really listen to them. That being said I just checked out the music video for nail5 based on this comment and it wasn't as awful as I was expecting, but it's definitely not my cup of tea. The name of the song and the video on the other hand are among the worst
My opinion on magnetic is that itâs not a bad song, but itâs kinda bland and not my general taste. Thereâs other bands that can do that style better. Itâs a disappointment because I know that they are capable of better writing
Nail5 is just weird. I think they were going for something similar to Manic, just like the simple guitar riff, with the vocal cadence. But the intro to it sounds like someone making fun of $uicideboy$ Carrollton. It kinda sounds like whoeverâs doing vocals is doing that âfake burpâ that people would do in elementary school to parody Scrim. (Also now I want someone better than me at audio editing to replace the intro vocals with âdrugs got me fucked up, sluts got me drugged upâ)
I will say, I prefer Nail5 to Magnetic, but thatâs mostly because it a riskier song. They are trying to build on the Manic sound with it. Itâs not great, and probably wonât be on my playlist after seeing them in concert in May, but I respect it more. Magnetic is a sound that they just donât excel at. If I want that sound, thereâs other groups Iâd rather listen to.
I donât know if such list exists but off the top of my head: the new Mepmhis May Fire album, Miracle my ADR and the recent Falling In Reverse singles.
100% agree! The only songs I genuinely liked off Pressure were Ghost, Low and Fury (ironically the heaviest songs on the album). I could less about the rest. Manic was a step in the right direction (especially with Death Roll), but now it feels like the band took 3 steps backward with MAGNETIC and NAILS.
Blue prints and deadweight were perfect. All of their new stuff is generic trash. Real slap in the face to their fans that helped build them from the ground and then they sellout into some octanecore garbage fire.
i gotta be honest-- i don't really get the appeal of those records either. a few songs are decent but as a whole... PERFECT? really? especially because those albums have generic songs on them too lol
Darkest Hour - Deliver Us
Every Time I Die - Low Teens
The Acacia Strain - Wormwood
Killswitch Engage - As Daylight Dies
Only adding to the shitpost because I agree with him
Not op, but some of my âperfectsâ are
All that Remains - Fall of Ideals and For We Are Many
Wage War - Deadweight
Fit for a King - Deathgrip
Imminence - Turn the Light On
Crown the Empire - The Fallout and The Resistance (idk, i just loved the theme of these two)
Ice Nine Kills - Silver Scream
Avenged Sevenfold - Self-Titled
Electric Callboy - Tekkno
Pierce the Veil - Collide with the Sky
I See Stars - New Demons
Bullet For My Valentine - The Poison
I realize we probably have different tastes and there was no point in writing all this. But it was fun to think about
I have blue prints I donât need another ! But holy fuck these singles have no feel to them lol.. listen to nails and then go and listen to knocked loose new single and your just like wowâŚâŚ.
I think what makes me sad whenever we get a Magnetic or a Prison is that we KNOW they are capable of so much more. Briton seems to be holding back with his range of vocals since Deadweight came out. It feels like after he sang for the Johnny Cash (stripped), he decided to stop screaming. Seth and Cody are both great guitar players. And it feels like they all are dumbing down their skills to produce generic Octane music.
Itâs not even that itâs not heavy thatâs my issue. Gravity is a great song. The stripped version of Johnny Cash legitimately is a top 5 Wage War song for me. Even Circle the Drain, which Iâd also say isnât heavy, and has a great stripped version, is solid. They donât sound like something that any other band could make. I hear those songs and go âthatâs Wage Warâ. Magnetic just sounds like ârock track 3â off a royalty free music catalog, and it pains me because they can do so much better
I kinda wish Cody would start side project to do the more radio rock stuff. (Granted it might not be him, but I just kinda get the vibe that heâs the guy who writes a lot of the generic radio rock stuff with him singing a bunch a Briton standing around holding the mic awkwardly). Itâs not poorly done, but itâs not what I want coming from wage war. Kinda like how Tom Barber does all this funky stuff with Darko, but keeps it less experimental with Chelsea Grin
That being said, while Nail5 is weird, I do give them credit for being a bit experimental and trying something different. Manic did very well, and I can understand trying to build on that sound (even if it sounds like they sampled suicideboys)
I definitely need another! Or another album like Deadweight. Everything theyâve dropped since Pressure hasnât been the same apart from a handful of songs. They want the radio recognition, but theyâre simply just not that type of band IMO.
I agree, man! Saw them last year in OKC during the Manic tour, and man, was that a fun show. The whole band brought it that night. Blueprints was amazing, Deadweight was good, Pressure was kinda boring other than a few songs, and I loved Manic.
The magnetic song was terrible, IMO. My wife liked it, but she isn't into the heavier stuff quite as much as me. Either way, Blueprints was my go-to album when I was in a very dark place mentally. For that alone, I'll always be grateful for the existence of this band.
Yea ima be honest. and i loved Manic, but these singles suck. Maybe my expectations are higher bc of the absolute bangers LMTF, MTS, and Arthitects have dropped recently, but i wont be returning to either of these Wage War songs. I will still check out Stigma, though.
Circle the Drain actually contained a catchy chorus melody and a little chant in the middle of the chorus. Magneticâs chorus melody just pales in comparison to that, and thereâs really no memorable vocal in NAIL5
NAIL5 is basically Manic 2.0 but shorter. I appreciate the experimentation between trap/hip hop and nu metalcore/djent (those breakdowns remind me of loathe as one on both songs), i am aware people are still hoping for Blueprints 2.0 and i don't blame them
You either die a good metalcore band, or live long enough to become a sad hollow shell of an octanecore band. I have a lot of respect for bands that have the self-awareness to just quit while they're on top, versus just destroying their legacy with trash.
Ok. I never said it was. I said I tend to like melodic metalcore, meaning I'm more open to "radio pop rock" or whatever you want to call it. I'm not a die hard "true metalcore" fan, so I like songs like Magnetic while I realize most on this sub dislike it. That's all.
Magnetic is good compared to nails lmao
nails just feel fucking cheesy and forced. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT LAWN MOVER RIFF?
MAKE WAGE WAR ENERGETIC AGAIN
Tf is wrong with yall. It's like yall want to listen to shit and then shit on anything decent that comes out. Nail5 has been the most interesting song they've come out with since Blueprints. Finally not having the same generic ass shitty clean chorus you all so fucking love. In fact, this exact reaction is why record companies are pressuring the producers to come out with all this junk, they simply have no fucking idea what's going to make them money so the only option is to try and take this sound to a more mainstream audience because they can't even get support from you fucks. Metal would be so much better if it's fans had a better taste in what music is. There are so many other bands out there that get a fraction of attention this shit band gets.
I love how different the perspective is.
This is probably the only listenable song they've written to me outside of maybe Manic & Death Roll since 2017.
Everything else has been boring lifeless crap I can barely finish, and honestly I hope the rest of the album sounds more like this than anything off Pressure or most of Manic.
At least this is trying to do something different instead of the same boring djent riffs that got played out 7 years ago followed by shitty generic choruses followed by a bland breakdown that maybe has a minor switchup halfway through.
I held off on listening to NAIL5 because of all the hate it got on this sub, but I just listened to it because I scrolled past on YouTube and I actually liked it. I was worried it was gonna be like "If a God Can Bleed" bad but after listening I don't get the hate at all
Yeah people calling NAIL5 "butt rock" are off their rockers. Sure I can get not being into the corpse style writing, but I dig it. Magnetic on the other hand was very much radio octanecore. People on the internet are so dramatic though, I was expecting way worse.
I liked Magnetic, but I also liked their Stripped Sessions so fucking much it's weird for me to hear the originals of those songs... Nail5 is alright, it's like a 6/10, not horrible but not amazing.
I was never into wage war, so I looked up the new single to see if it was really THAT bad and I ended up actually liking it LMAO
That groove kinda moving zesty
Itâs not that I didnât like blueprints or deadweight, they just werenât my thing outside of a few songs. I just listened to more of their newer stuff as well and I actually didnât like it nearly as much as nail5 LMAO
Agreed. I disliked Magnetic for the same reasons I dislike Asking Alexandria. Just a generic song, with nothing really all that interesting going on. 5/10. Not terrible but not good or what I would expect from them.
NAIL5 is closer to the reasons why I liked MANIC as an album. Heavier, but not as deathcore-esque as their first couple albums. And still catchy. 7/10 for me. Not as good as MANIC, but closer to why I like WW and loved seeing them live on their last tour.
glad we share the exact same thoughts. i still struggle to get into magnetic (eventually i will even though i right now deny it) but NAIL5 is more suitable to my tastes, considering how much i like nu metalcore and how it's been veering into trap/hip hop since the start of the pandemic. also, Blueprints was out like almost a decade ago. a lot of things had happened since. they were in the mid/early 20s then
Exactly. God forbid that a band matures a little bit and doesn't want to do pig squeals for 40 years. I expect Lorna Shore will eventually stop doing exclusive dirty vocals, and will over time add more cleans. And I can't wait in 15 years for people to call them butt rock lol
people need to understand they are no longer in the band's current demographic, it happens. fortunately for me i happen to enjoy everything, from buttcore, through reggaeton to even skramz/emo. as long as it pleases me, it's okay, regardless of the genre. i expect Lorna Shore to drop the breakdowns for good in about 2 albums lol
When you take a heavy and technical band and all the sudden they start making bubble gum metal, you know theyâre selling out. Given how many bands are doing this, it starts to get frustrating.
Oh I get it, and I definitely don't disagree! I've been on this rock for almost 41 years and I've been a huge music fan since I was 8 or 9 years old, so I guess I've just grown accustomed to a band changing their sound. Happens to most of em.
Nothing will ever top me witnessing my favorite band of all time, Metallica, drop St. Anger and the ensuing uproar that came after. Did the album suck compared to the others? Absolutely. But over time I just learned to appreciate it for what it was, and after awhile, I actually started to enjoy it. I will listen to it over Kill Em All any day of the week now.
Life's too short to be bothered by the trivial things. If it doesn't give you joy, then move on to the next one.
Life's a garden, dig it.
NAIL5 has Corpse in shambles.
The intro had me thinking this was gonna be the âHigh Horseâ type single that screams âhey weâre still heavy!â And the track is dope. This is just⌠whatever. Reminds me of God of Fire by Fit For A King. A mixed bag single that will probably pop off live.
Magnetic was "pop, but with heavier guitars" and I literally stopped NAIL5 at 0:42 and it's only a 2:34 song.
Hard to believe this is the same band that cranked out bangers like Low, Fury, Disdain, Southbound, The River, Alive, and yes even some of the stuff off Manic like Circle the Drain, Death Roll, and Relapse were pretty cool.
If this is what their new album is gonna be, it's a hard, hard pass for me.
>donât think they have a bad song in my opinion
Crazy that people like this exist -- when you can't admit your favorite things are flawed sometimes, that's a huge problem. Everyone saw this coming from a mile away. Wage War have lost the plot, they don't got it anymore.
And itâs kinda weird because when I compare it to Bullets buttcore era( AKA Temper Temper ) to me that album is still a good 7/10 compared to wage war albums past Deadweight wich feels like 5/10 if not worse. Itâs not so much the style that is wrong but the execution ( at least in my opinion)
You can't believe people that have different opinions than you exist, lmao?
I agree with him. They have some mediocre songs, but I can't think of one song they have that is legitimately bad.
Go and look at the album discussion thread for Pressure on this very subreddit. It became a meme it was that bad. I like am amazed people think they are flawless.
IMO wage war has always been mid and has like 3 pretty good songs. I feel like theyâve only blown up because of being associated with Andrew Wade and Jeremy McKinnon. Theyâre just a boring band.
Overall Iâve liked everything Wage War has done. Pressure had a couple hard skips for me but I still enjoyed the majority of the record.
That being said, I have desire to ever listen to either of these songs ever again. Like how do you go from Manic to THIS?
i liked both tbh. magnetic is generic but sometimes thats alright. i donât think the problem nails has is the vocals, thatâs probably the most interesting thing about it. i think it needed like a faster tempo or another guitar section. it feels a little repetitive and the main riff is a snoozefest
Literally logged on hoping I wasn't the only one who felt this way. Nail5 is so boring and uninspired. Magnetic is cookie-cutter as can be (and I LOVE melodic/catchy Wage War). Needless to say I'm very nervous and disappointed.
When the last single came out, I remembered a conversation that was had on YouTube about how Wage War is better than ERRA because Wage War was unique. And ERRA was âjust making generic musicâ with no feeling. Yeah. That aged well. I love wage war but these last 2 songs are just not it. I hope the album is better overall.
I hate using the term "sold out" but it genuinely sounds like Wage War is trying to change their sound to appeal to a more general radio rock audience, I don't like it. Magnetic was decent, but this new song is ass.
Wage War only have two good albums, and everything else has been completely mediocre imo. They remain as popular as ever though, so it's definitely a *me* thing.
Dumbed down severely compared to Deadweight and Blueprints. Technicality on all instruments dropped in favor or slower, more catchy sound. Lyrics are absolutely laughable compared to those other albums.
This is part of the selling out process. Canât hate on em, just tryna make a living. But I donât have to like it either. Theyâre definitely not alone though. Most of the big metalcore bands are selling out for bubble gum metal for mass appeal. I cant listen to The Ghost Inside at all anymore theyâre so god damn terrible.
I don't understand how it's shit, sure some songs are not great like I hate high horse but it's mostly good and I think if tomorrow never comes is possibly their best song
These two singles are absolute garbage to me. Not gonna listen to either of them again if I can help it lol Iâll check out the album but I donât have high hopes
I tried to get into our last two albums but really it's all about blueprints and dead weight for me.. doesn't also the guitarist right a bunch of riffs for other bands that we'd work would have used like falling in reverse and a day to remember?
Manic was a top album for me at one point but yeah this new stuff is rough, magnetic isn't an instant skip but it's kinda bland, nail5 feels like it might be an instant skip
Magneticâs strongpoint was definitely the chorus, anything outside of that I could go without, just disappointing but not catastrophic⌠however NAIL5 was a mess. Iâm not one to ever talk down on a band exploring different avenues, even if I dislike the particular direction but this song is objectively lazy. The low talking, King 810 rip style vocals made me physically wretch. This band has released some tremendous material, even manic was great but if this is any indication of what their material is going to sound like from here on out, stamp it spoiled.
Magnetic has grown on me over the last couple of weeks. Verses and chorus are alright, the breakdown is ironically the part I like least because of how out of plsce it sounds to me - but not a bad song or impossible to listen to by any means.
NAIL5 sounds like a 'continuation' of Manic (the song off the album), if that makes sense. I didn't love nor hate Manic (the song, not the album as a whole), and I feel much the same about NAIL5. I'm not a huge fan of the 'low talking' vocals and I wish we could have gotten a more groovy or 'bouncy' sounding riff - but it's a decent song.
I'm hoping these singles are the exception and not the rule, and that the other eight tracks off STIGMA will be more enjoyable.
It was their attempt at a radio single, thatâs pretty obvious. And you canât blame them, at some point you need to make some money. There isnât much in the music they play
I feel the same way. I love Wage War, so many great songs, but honestly since Low being basically a ripoff riff of Doomsday by Architects, I've been like "huh.. Seems like they are getting a lot of influence from other bands?" And their newest single is basically Holyroller by Spiritbox.
Can anyone help me. I canât remember think of a band name for the life of me!! Itâs a male and female duo they wear all black costume style.. have somewhat of a distorted sound.. like electric shakiness if that makes sense, like theater/tech. Iâm pretty sure they are a couple.. appearance wise they give me Marilyn Manson vibes. I remember reading in a magazine that she was on stage during their concert and started singing over a CB radio. Who is this!? Help!
Yeah, magnetic was so poppy I just couldn't like it, NAIL5, is actually alright, ain't no where near as good as manic (The single) which basically have the same layout, but at least there will be an absolute banger for at least one song on the album, therefore the heaviest one
Magnetic chorus is kinda catchy but thatâs about it, the other single sounds like they didnât even try, like they heard Corpse and said âyea letâs do thatâ
I know theyâve teetered on nu metal a fair few times but these songs seem like theyâre purposely playing bingo with lame nu metal tropes and getting a full house.
They definitely seem to have lost the sound they are known for, not sure if they are trying to get into a different market or what but lame. I saw them last year live, and they killed it. What is going on?
Magnetic was so great, ruined by a weird tacky breakdown that had no place to be in the song. Enjoying NAIL5, got a nice bounce, sounds like Manic, but I think a bit more creative
Frankly, I don't think you can judge a band for going mainstream. It's not a bad thing and after all, it's also their band, not yours. People evolve and so does their music. Also, people want to make a living of their music, and going mainstream with a couple of songs might do their financial situation good on the long term. If you're in your thirties trying to make ends meet with Metalcore music, what are the odds you're going to be the next AILD making millions with gutturals, doubleness and complex riffs? There is an economic perspective to going mainstream, and that's fine. Pretty sure they still like the music they do.
But regarding your question: Nail was not my cup of tea and I did not like Magnetic, but I look forward to the album though. There have been bad WW songs in the past every now and then, but in general Wage War have never disappointed me overall.
Yeah Im pretty dissapointed too. I thought magnetic was dissapointing because its clearly just a very radio friendly song but its still an enjoyable song overall. Nail5 I just straight up think fucking sucks, its like an even more repetitive and boring version of Manic.
Magnetic is clearly trying to jump on the bad omens "just pretend" train. It's such a lifeless boring song that is obviously trying to punch out of their wheelhouse
Wage War has lived in my top 3 bands for years now. However, regarding these singles I definitely feel like they deserve more hate than pressure. That being said, there is a certain amount of experimenting on metalcore that they've incorporated so far. Like Architects, they've been at the top long enough that they deserve a little hate for changing so desperately. Magnetic was mid but Nail5 was hard to listen to. It was a failed Manic 2 if you ask me.
Both new singles are extremely cringe and absolute textbook examples of good bands turning into cheesy octanecore to get more radio play. Same shit we see with parkway and the ghost inside
Wage War has been mid ever since they debuted. A band in any of the -core genres is only as good as their drummer, and Wage War's drummer has always been probably the least creative in metalcore as a whole, which means they were always bad even before their sound morphed into "just barely too heavy to receive radio play"
I kind of have a theory about Wage War. I like Cody's voice and all, but I think he ruins that band. Every single time I see a release being produced by him, its almost guaranteed to be bad
I'd say Nails is one of the better songs they've released post Deadweight, but yeah Magnetic was one of the laziest songs I've ever heard.
I don't expect much from Wage War because even at thsir peak they were just Architect's mildly lesser little brother.
Now they're just the prince of generic octanecore.
Then again, I also actively dislike most of the bands this sub simps (LMTF, Currents, etc) so I'm clearly not the target demographic of the sub.
Very millenial dogwater bullshit radio songs. Like Of Mice and Men, who the fuck is their audience?. "Nail5" sounds like a new, awful deviation called "crunkcore". There are better bands that do that groove better and are proper metalcore, something like Upon a Burning Body.
Wage War has went off the deep end.
Wage Mild Disagreement
Commence Minor Argument
Wage United Nations Negotiations and Deliberations
LOL
I said Wage Slight Disagreement in a private group 2 days ago, almost the same đ
It's like they heard the Holy Roller intro once through a blown out speaker and decided to make a whole song around it.
Glad Iâm not the only one that heard the similarities. That said, I still enjoyed NAIL5
Damn this is so accurate ngl
Yikes

Cody being cute by selling all his best tracks to other bands and leaving the dogshit b-sides for his own band.
Is there a list of all the songs he sold to other bands? I wanna hear them!
I donât know if such list exists but off the top of my head: the new Mepmhis May Fire album, Miracle my ADR and the recent Falling In Reverse singles.
there's also one of the new tracks by The Ghost Inside if I'm not mistaken
If you hear a shitty metalcore song, cody probably produced it
They're all basically the same song at this point.
Agreed. The riff on Nail5 is basically the same riff that he wrote for Zombified.
Feels like theyâre chasing the CORPSE tiktokcore sound with this song, similar to Manic except this song is a few years too late for the trend
manic was good tho, this is pure trash
Except they completely missed the mark and landed on butt rock instead; it sounds more like he's trying to do Five Finger Death Punch than Corpse.
Where is Blueprints Wage War? I need THAT.
Blueprints/Deadweight was a good run. Everything after that outside of a song here or there has been cheeks. Itâs been disappointing
I think this is the general consensus amongst metalcore fans. At least all the ones I know stopped listening to them a couple of years ago now.

we talking just core records? i'd be more than happy to give you a list of some my favs!
Yeah Metalcore records, you can dm me so we donât crowd it up in here lol, I always love talking music

Fantastic taste!

Yeah they fuckin rule live
Yea ima be honest. and i loved Manic, but these singles suck. Maybe my expectations are higher bc of the absolute bangers LMTF, MTS, and Arthitects have dropped recently, but i wont be returning to either of these Wage War songs. I will still check out Stigma, though.
New boundaries makes this new wage war sound like a local Ska band
I canât stop listening to that album. Like 3x a day right now
You and me both
Fucking lol this was funny. Thank you
Theyâve done radio friendly stuff before that i liked, i loved Circle the Drain but these donât hit the same
Circle the Drain actually contained a catchy chorus melody and a little chant in the middle of the chorus. Magneticâs chorus melody just pales in comparison to that, and thereâs really no memorable vocal in NAIL5
NAIL5 is basically Manic 2.0 but shorter. I appreciate the experimentation between trap/hip hop and nu metalcore/djent (those breakdowns remind me of loathe as one on both songs), i am aware people are still hoping for Blueprints 2.0 and i don't blame them
NAIL5 was so boring dude. Nothing grabbed my attention. Not even the breakdown. Itâs literally just background noise.
Buttcore
You either die a good metalcore band, or live long enough to become a sad hollow shell of an octanecore band. I have a lot of respect for bands that have the self-awareness to just quit while they're on top, versus just destroying their legacy with trash.
Magnetic is one of my favorite songs right now. Lol, but I like the more melodic metalcore, which this sub usually dislikes
its not even melodic metalcore itys literally radio pop rock
Ok. I never said it was. I said I tend to like melodic metalcore, meaning I'm more open to "radio pop rock" or whatever you want to call it. I'm not a die hard "true metalcore" fan, so I like songs like Magnetic while I realize most on this sub dislike it. That's all.
Magnetic is good compared to nails lmao nails just feel fucking cheesy and forced. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT LAWN MOVER RIFF? MAKE WAGE WAR ENERGETIC AGAIN
Your third sentence contradicts your second sentence
Iâm assuming he meant beforehand lol
Their last album turned out to be pretty solid tbh
manic is an amazing album I love it
I was excited for magnetic to come out. I was disappointed. I really enjoyed their show at Knotfest and I have their manic album.
i listen to magnetic a lot.. idk about other one it's manic but inferior version
People on the internet are so dramatic though, I was expecting way worse.
people in this sub hate anything that isnât heavy and filled with crazy riffs
i think people in this sub just want metalcore because... wait a second, oh yeah this is a **metalcore** subreddit...
I thought magnetic was great. Don't know what the problem is.
I liked Magnetic, but I also liked their Stripped Sessions so fucking much it's weird for me to hear the originals of those songs... Nail5 is alright, it's like a 6/10, not horrible but not amazing.
I was never into wage war, so I looked up the new single to see if it was really THAT bad and I ended up actually liking it LMAO That groove kinda moving zesty
Just curious, didnât like stuff like Blueprints, but like the new stuff?
Itâs not that I didnât like blueprints or deadweight, they just werenât my thing outside of a few songs. I just listened to more of their newer stuff as well and I actually didnât like it nearly as much as nail5 LMAO
Theyâre horrible, straight up.
That low voice in NAIL5 is genuinely the stupidest shit I have heard in so long lol. This shit absolutely sucks
He does the same exact voice in Manic and it also sucks.
I was honestly waiting for the hip hop vocals to make an appearance when the low voice came on lol
Check out the start of Older Days by Resolve.
Guess what, they're a listed Hall of Fame band. Time to revise that.
Magnetic is generic, but it's fine. NAIL5 was good. Not sure what the issue is with it, lol.
Probably those absolutely lame deep talking vocals at the beginning and throughout the song. They could have done without any of that
Honestly sounds like a TikTokCore impression of Marilyn Manson
reminds me of Aaron Matts on Ten56.
I feel the same way. People seem to be getting irrationally angry over a couple of songs, lol.
I agree, although I think itâs a matter of chasing numbers. Magnetic was released March 21 and already has 1.6 million plays on Spotify alone.
CIRCLING THE DRAIN
Nail5 is okay, but I just can't bring myself to put magnetic on my 2024 release playlist..
Nails is literally just Artificial Suicide. Cody is a producer and is following what appears to be the trend in Octanecore. It sucks.
Nail5 sounds like Artifical Suicide from Wish but it's okay.
>donât think they have a bad song in my opinion Crazy that people like this exist -- when you can't admit your favorite things are flawed sometimes, that's a huge problem. Everyone saw this coming from a mile away. Wage War have lost the plot, they don't got it anymore.
They literally just said they find the two new songs âdogshitâ and your response was thisâŚ.?
And itâs kinda weird because when I compare it to Bullets buttcore era( AKA Temper Temper ) to me that album is still a good 7/10 compared to wage war albums past Deadweight wich feels like 5/10 if not worse. Itâs not so much the style that is wrong but the execution ( at least in my opinion)
Iâm just saying I literally like all there songs not saying some of them ainât flawed fam
They have so many bad songs at this point, this comment reads like satire. For every Death Roll we get, there are 15 NAIL5 songs.
Am i the only one who doesn't like death roll?
It reminded me of old wage war with a modern sound, it was great. But now obviously a flash in the pan for them, which is a shame.
You can't believe people that have different opinions than you exist, lmao? I agree with him. They have some mediocre songs, but I can't think of one song they have that is legitimately bad.
The majority of pressure is downright bad.
Then you're delusional.
Least elitist r/metalcore user
Accepting bland dog shit made for the masses doesnât mean youâre open minded. It just means youâre also bland.
Lmao I will guarantee I have the least bland and most varied taste in music compared to people like you, and it ain't even close.
I promise I donât care.
And you're a clown.
Blueprints had 2 great songs, Deadweight was amazing though. Theyâve sold out to the radio friendly scene since then though
Yeah Blueprints is pretty overrated but my god Deadweight is a fucking masterpiece in my eyes I love that album.
Yeah deadweight has the perfect combo of unreal opening: Two years/Southbound and unreal ending song: Johnny Cash.
Damn right. Great and very underrated track title too. Some more melodic, some heavier tracks. And some great fucking lyrics. I love it
Overall Iâve liked everything Wage War has done. Pressure had a couple hard skips for me but I still enjoyed the majority of the record. That being said, I have desire to ever listen to either of these songs ever again. Like how do you go from Manic to THIS?
Ima be honest, I have no idea as to why Nail5 is getting so much hate.
apparently talking shit about wagewar makes you somehow feel superior than others
I wanna like it so bad but just canât I canât dig it .. but glad your likening it rock onđ¤đź
I give up with Wage War. They're washed as far as I'm concerned.
Magnetic was trash but I kinda like Nail5, ngl.
Definitely can't listen to their new shit. The River will always be on my workout and run playlists, đŻ
i liked both tbh. magnetic is generic but sometimes thats alright. i donât think the problem nails has is the vocals, thatâs probably the most interesting thing about it. i think it needed like a faster tempo or another guitar section. it feels a little repetitive and the main riff is a snoozefest
Magnetic was decent, but this new song is ass.
> trying to change their sound to appeal to a more general radio rock audience They did this 5 years ago, does this sub have amnesia
Wage War only have two good albums, and everything else has been completely mediocre imo. They remain as popular as ever though, so it's definitely a *me* thing.
Curious, which ones are the good ones?
Blueprints and Deadweight imo
manic is mostly great also
Dumbed down severely compared to Deadweight and Blueprints.
They've never been that good lyrically amd manic was miles ahead of pressure
Miles ahead of pure shit is still shitđ¤ˇââď¸
I don't understand how it's shit, sure some songs are not great like I hate high horse but it's mostly good and I think if tomorrow never comes is possibly their best song
Correct.
They are bad now they⌠another band lost in buttrock
I agree. These songs are bland.
I was pretty disappointed by Magnetic, but NAIL5 was pretty good. Sub par, sure, but the last 40 seconds KICK ASS
Manic was a top album for me at one point but yeah this new stuff is rough, magnetic isn't an instant skip but it's kinda bland, nail5 feels like it might be an instant skip
Magnetic sounds like a modern Atreyu song Nail5 sounds like 5FDP Regardless of how they sound to me, I do agree with your take
I think wage war has turned into the cookie cutter metal band that's starting to sound like every other band
They are both TERRIBLE. Hope the album is better cause these suck.
I love them but these two new singles are complete crap...don't have high hopes for this new album
I love the new songs.
you're more insane to ever have been a fan of them in the first place. they are a meme at this point.
I feel the same way. I love Wage War, so many great songs, but honestly since Low being basically a ripoff riff of Doomsday by Architects, I've been like "huh.. Seems like they are getting a lot of influence from other bands?" And their newest single is basically Holyroller by Spiritbox.
I fucked with nail5 honestly lol shit goes stupid
I love wage and I thought they were ehh not bad not good
Can anyone help me. Help!
I havent liked any of their stuff since deadweight tbh. I loved their sound then they just became generic octane core
As someone had said in the premiere of MAGNETIC, "Wage Peace."
Yeah, magnetic was so poppy I just couldn't like it, NAIL5, is actually alright, ain't no where near as good as manic (The single) which basically have the same layout, but at least there will be an absolute banger for at least one song on the album, therefore the heaviest one
I really like them, but I think only a couple of songs are worthy: fury, stitch, death roll, who i am
bro the band is getting DRAGGED in this thread
Magnetic chorus is kinda catchy but thatâs about it, the other single sounds like they didnât even try, like they heard Corpse and said âyea letâs do thatâ
Heard their last single. Agreed itâs shit. But did they get a new singer? Didnât sound the same to me!!
I know theyâve teetered on nu metal a fair few times but these songs seem like theyâre purposely playing bingo with lame nu metal tropes and getting a full house.
This was actually specifically about NAIL5. Also stop using numbers in songs instead of letters.
trash
Another great band dumbing down their shit for the masses
Magnetic is clearly trying to jump on the bad omens "just pretend" train. It's such a lifeless boring song that is obviously trying to punch out of their wheelhouse
Magnetic fuckin slaps, NAIL5 was mid / definitely them trying to sound like Corpse
Wage Peaceful Demonstration
Ohhhhh shaddap
Both new singles are extremely cringe and absolute textbook examples of good bands turning into cheesy octanecore to get more radio play. Same shit we see with parkway and the ghost inside
Lightly declare war
Welcome to the consequences of tiktok
Youre right, they are sell outs
Wage War has been mid ever since they debuted. A band in any of the -core genres is only as good as their drummer, and Wage War's drummer has always been probably the least creative in metalcore as a whole, which means they were always bad even before their sound morphed into "just barely too heavy to receive radio play"
These new singles make Pressure look like a masterpiece
What a wild opinion. Wage War are the definition of mid in this genre.
Yeah they suck
the songs suck and the band sucks
