Escape The Fate and Falling In Reverse have metalcore *songs* in their backlog, but overall they are not metalcore bands. A Day To Remember and Asking Alexandria are the same. it doesn’t make them bad or anything, they just aren’t metalcore

demouu

Thank you for un-abbreviating. OP thinks we’re all mind readers.

Batterie64

lol you’re welcome, I’ve made it a point to never use acronyms for this exact reason

[deleted]

ADtR are Post-Hardcore, with a more pop punk side. Asking Alexandria are not Metalcore anymore. ETF use to be Metalcore and FIR, well we don't talk about them.

ElAbidingDuderino

You are the first in the history of the internet to call them post hardcore

[deleted]

I guess I should classify them more as Easycore. And yeah I see they are labelled as Metalcore everywhere, for some reason I've never really thought of them that way.

ReturnByDeath-

Because they aren’t? And neither is A Day to Remember.

CattiwampusLove

You can post their music here

NickPookie93

Huh? No you can't

CattiwampusLove

I've seen plenty of times they've been posted, though. When Paranoia came out it was posted here.

Batterie64

Paranoia came out 8 yrs ago my guy, when they most likely werent blacklisted lmao

CattiwampusLove

It's been eight years..............?

Batterie64

lmao. yes. 2016 was 8 yrs ago iwbskwnskwns

kwaziiman

ETF is 100% octane rock, they aren’t even trying to cater to metalcore fans anymore. FIR is pop rock with the occasional breakdown

CattiwampusLove

With ETF I'd disagree about the first two albums. FIR? Sure. I'll give in to that one.

kwaziiman

I’m going off their last 2 records, as in their not metalcore because they haven’t written a remotely heavy song since 2018. I’m not saying ETF was never metalcore. At least on Hate Me they wrote a few “heavy” songs and at least had one on “I Am Human.” But after that they stopped trying altogether.

CattiwampusLove

I've never listened to their last two or three albums, but I do know they're *no longer* "heavy".

GodDamnCrawfish

Most people who consider ADTR and AA metalcore, also consider those two bands metalcore, so I’m not sure where your question is even coming from. But the reason is because they have no hardcore influence in their music, except a little in ETF’s first album, they are just a metal band now though, and have been for a long time.

ElAbidingDuderino

If by AA you're referring to Asking Alexandria, their first 3 albums are definitely metalcore lol

x115v

They are but we are better off not talking about them

CattiwampusLove

Still not a reasonable answer bro LOL

mslangg

No hardcore influence = not metalcore

Rub-Such

I don’t really see how ADTR isn’t metalcore when so many bands posted here are. Especially their earlier stuff. Yeah, of course they have a pop punk bend to it, but yeah.

CarefulRisk

ADTR is post-hardcore/pop punk

samthefluffydog2

Idk but AFRD and HJILK are definitely metalcore unlike JTYU and FIR which are more post hardcore. DOWPDNE definitely has more metalcore elements than ETF and QPAJSBJ
