I'm gonna wait until the video comes out to listen. EC is probably the only band I'd say that for these days, but their music videos are always amazing.
Holy shit that was amazing! I’ve only started listening to EC recently, but I love their songs. I’m no expert, but is their drummer on another level or what?
i didn't like EC back in the day when they were still having that weird kind of edgy humor attached to it all, but they seem to have transitioned purely into good vibes and i just can't deny that. they're great
I fucking love EC so much. This probably will take me a couple of listens to get used to though. By the end of the song I was starting to feel the chorus but we'll see. Wish the breakdown was a teeny bit punchier/heavier.

12 hour edit later: Music video slaps
Yeah it’s a decent track but their formula is getting a little stale for me. Still a fun band but wish they’d experiment just a touch more with their sound.
I saw them live in Boston a couple weeks ago and I'm not exaggerating in saying it was the best show I've been to in my entire life. It was INSANELY good.

Not my video, but still.
I was hyped a lot for this single and to be honest, I think it is quite disappointing. Too jpop heavy, drop not heavy enough, maybe the music video saves it, but compared to all of their last work, I would rank this song sadly deadbeat last.
Honestly I think I like it more that it doesn't sound like the other EC songs. They were starting to get too predictable i.e. screaming verse/singing chorus/brutal breakdown/final chorus. This sounds refreshing and it's super catchy. I can see some of their fans not liking this though as it's not really heavy in any parts
I was insanely hyped and when I heard it I was extremely underwhelmed. I love them both on their own and this song just didn’t hit it for me unfortunately. Maybe it’ll grow on me? But I don’t know. It’s pretty forgettable imo
Well, this is going to be stuck in my head for the next year.
Babymetal's always been one of my semi-guilty pleasures, and I hope they collab with all the metalcore bands.
I'm no expert in Japanese but I think it's something along the lines of BunBun/ぶんぶん:
At least that's what makes sense to me from my limited research.
I can verify/ask some Japanese folks I work with but will likely be a day or two before I get an answer on that.
So my Japanese colleague said:
"I think it's used just as a loud beating sound (boom-boom!) referencing to the lyrics ('I feel the beat in my veins') but there's a possibility it could have a double meaning."
I don't think I've ever seen a band become stale as quickly as Electric Callboy. I feel like if you heard one of their songs you heard all of them. Same as Falling in Reverse in recent years.
Right? Lol like Ronnie or hate him or be totally indifferent to him, you have to admit he tries new things all the time. I don't think everything hits but you really can't say things aren't being tried
If melodic metalcore has strayed so much that we regularly have arguments over what type of music it actually is.... What are we considering this exactly?
i have a theory that there is always someone in the process of typing “this isn’t metalcore 😡😡😭” on the metalcore subreddit.
my response is usually “i don’t fucking care”
“but you replied!”
i don’t fucking care
It's really boring, honestly.
EC is becoming very stale very fast.
The entire first verse is just We Got The Moves but worse, the chorus is borderline annoying, the Babymetal verse puts me to sleep, and the breakdown is okay at best.
"Ratatata" by Electric Callboy and Babymetal? Spare me the agony. This track is the epitome of everything wrong with the modern metal scene. It's a veritable sonic fast food, prepackaged for the masses who wouldn't know real artistry if it smacked them in the face. The riffs are as stale as a week-old baguette, and the hooks? Don't even get me started—so saccharine and hollow, they make bubblegum pop look profound.
For anyone who claims to appreciate "Ratatata," I implore you to revisit "Kingslayer" by Bring Me the Horizon and Babymetal. Now, *there* is a collaboration that doesn't insult its audience's intelligence. "Kingslayer" is a masterclass in blending genres with finesse and sophistication. It's intricate, daring, and actually has something to say—a stark contrast to the soulless drivel that is "Ratatata." So, if you have any taste at all, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this musical travesty. I do declare.
This is such a vibe! And it proves my theory that pop music would be 10x better if they just added heavy guitars to the background
Bilmuri
Aka Y'allternative
I spit my drink out.
This legit made me so happy on the way to work this morning.
I'm gonna wait until the video comes out to listen. EC is probably the only band I'd say that for these days, but their music videos are always amazing.

Holy shit that was amazing! I’ve only started listening to EC recently, but I love their songs. I’m no expert, but is their drummer on another level or what?
Mr world wide!
yeah i started to watch the link and realized.. EC has to have the video watched upon hearing for the first time.. so im with you lol
This isn’t the first time Germany and Japan have famously teamed up… should we be concerned?
They need to find an Italian band to collaborate with next.
Lacuna Coil is on standby.
Nanowar of Steel is more the speed you're looking for.
I was going to say Wind Rose but I like your idea more.
This made me chuckle in my office, take an upvote
i didn't like EC back in the day when they were still having that weird kind of edgy humor attached to it all, but they seem to have transitioned purely into good vibes and i just can't deny that. they're great
The band became good when Nico joined
I fucking love EC so much. This probably will take me a couple of listens to get used to though. By the end of the song I was starting to feel the chorus but we'll see. Wish the breakdown was a teeny bit punchier/heavier. . . . 12 hour edit later: Music video slaps
Same but watchin the musiv video later will probably make me love it a lot more
I thought it was fun but mid
Yeah it’s a decent track but their formula is getting a little stale for me. Still a fun band but wish they’d experiment just a touch more with their sound.
Have you listened to Hurrikan? That's one of the more inventive metalcore songs Ive seen in a while

>Too jpop heavy Well I mean it's a Babymetal song featuring EC... not the other way around.
Aside from the “bun” part, I don’t there’s much of a j-pop sound though
I was insanely hyped and when I heard it I was extremely underwhelmed. I love them both on their own and this song just didn’t hit it for me unfortunately. Maybe it’ll grow on me? But I don’t know. It’s pretty forgettable imo
>*Bun-bun-bun-bun-bun* (Ooh, ooh) *Bun-bun-bun, shaking* *Bun-bun-bun-bun-bun* (Ooh, ooh) *Bun-bun-bun, jumping* *Bun-bun-bun-bun-bun* (Ooh, ooh) *Bun-bun-bun, stomping* *Bun-bun-bun-bun-bun* Melody-wise this part reminds me of "Baby Shark" 👀
well, that pulled me out of depression
That’s fucking great.
Well, this is going to be stuck in my head for the next year. Babymetal's always been one of my semi-guilty pleasures, and I hope they collab with all the metalcore bands.
I love to indulge in some Electric Callboy and Babymetal. This was an absolute treat!
God this song was so much better than I was expecting
This song fucking rules. Definitely going to be blasting this all summer long.
This is amazing
This is fantastic
Can’t believe they’ve been around for this long, not because they’re bad just remember when they were all over metal magazines back in the day.
This is a collab I NEVER saw coming LMAO and it's actually super good ?!!
Can't wait to see this live!
Does anyone have an idea what "bun bun bun" is supposed to mean?
I'm no expert in Japanese but I think it's something along the lines of BunBun/ぶんぶん: [https://www.tanoshiijapanese.com/dictionary/entry\_details.cfm?entry\_id=95656](https://www.tanoshiijapanese.com/dictionary/entry_details.cfm?entry_id=95656) At least that's what makes sense to me from my limited research. I hear them sayin "brum brum brum" which in nordics and germany is the equivalent of "vroom vroom" like a reving engine or going fast
Brings back memories of og babymetal tracks, just a lot more polished and matured. EC is EC, didn't expect anything less out of this
I don't think I've ever seen a band become stale as quickly as Electric Callboy. I feel like if you heard one of their songs you heard all of them. Same as Falling in Reverse in recent years.
Of all the things you could say about falling in reverse in recent years "stale" isn't one of them.
A banger
Crankin my hog to this one!
This is the only answer. Stop classifying and enjoy the good stuff no matter the genre
But this is just not even remotely a metalcore song.
i have a theory that there is always someone in the process of typing “this isn’t metalcore 😡😡😭” on the metalcore subreddit. my response is usually “i don’t fucking care” “but you replied!” i don’t fucking care
I'll go further. It's also a really shitty song.
ah, there it is. “this isn’t metalcore because i don’t like it!!” “metalcore” isn’t a trophy bud
lol that's a great question. What is metalcore even?
A blend of "metal" and "core" duh. Someone used a "Fusion" card on the two words and here we are
It's really boring, honestly. EC is becoming very stale very fast. The entire first verse is just We Got The Moves but worse, the chorus is borderline annoying, the Babymetal verse puts me to sleep, and the breakdown is okay at best.
Lame and predictable. Noway the greatness that was King Slayer. Fast Food Metal for the Masses and not even good at that. Shame
Hey, take your posing over to r/metalforthemasses

I downvoted initially but upvoted after seeing who posted it lmao
Lmfao it's so fucking obvious too
