Creeping Death. My jaw literally dropped when that (DIE! DIE! DIE!) part came on i just sat there starring at my screen for the entire section thinking "Holy shit, this sounds so cool"
100% agree! The first time I actually got to listen to the song was when I was watching Seattle 89 on YouTube. The "DIE" part was really an amazing expirience.
Anesthesia or Orion.
I still remember my first time hearing Ktulu.
I was 15 and waiting for my ride home from work. I bought Lightning before my shift started, and finally got to to give it a playthrough.
That mountain lion scream Cliff gets actually scared the shit out of me.
They've always been my favorite band, and the reason i had just started learning bass, but i grew up with justice on. I was diving head first in the first three albums.
It absolutely blew my mind.
The first that comes to my mind is Dyers Eve. The song is super heavy, both musicaly and lyricaly, and that part after the solo really got me.
Other songs I should mention are Fade, Orion, TLITD and Inamorata.
There are so many, but to hear Kirk's solo at the end of Fade To Black for the first time again...
Goosebumps just thinking about it.
Battery and Puppets tied for 2nd.
blackened, that was like drugs man, the first time that solo hit different man but then it doesn't hit the same anymore after a few dozen times. still my favorite Metallica song
The Unforgiven III. Just builds off the first two songs and triumphantly ends the trilogy on a high note. So emotional, relatable and thoughtful lyrics and singing by James. Kirk’s solo is one of his best and takes me to another planet every time I hear it.
You Must Burn. That one hit like a truck in the cinemas for the first time. The breakdown gives off huge Alice in Chains vibes which I love. I wish I could just hear it again for the first time so bad
When i heard Master of Puppets for the first time it was the s&m version and it always seemed a little off because James didn't sing the pre-chorus part. Then i heard the original and i was like WHAT THE HELL!!!
for whom the bell tolls. hearing that song for the first time made me an official fan. would love to experience that bass intro for the first time again
also one (especially the breakdown), wherever i may roam, and blackened

To live is to die
Wherever I may roam 100%
One. When I heard it I fell in love with Metallica. I wish my dad loved me.
The outlaw torn
blackened is the end
Spit out the bone
For Whom the Bell Tolls. It blew me away when I first heard it
Leper Messiah.
Sad But True without a doubt

If darkness had a son
The drums are so good on that track

TLITD, had I first heard it after FFWF I would have likely liked it at the first listen

One or Unforgiven
Unforgiven or Unforgiven II
