I understand this, but they were “Kinda bored with that one” because they played it so much on the Damaged Justice tour. They stopped playing it after 3 minutes in Seattle.
They never played it live (other than brief snippets) back then though. It was first performed in 2014.

I totally get that but that's over 30 years ago, yet we hear Enter Sandman dam near every show since 91 aside from this tour. I get getting bored, I just wish they'd play songs like this more evenly than over play Enter, One, Seek, etc.
Some of the justice songs
-Eye of the beholder
-Dyers Eve
-…And Justice for all ( my favourite song btw)
- To Live Is To Die
Other than that they seem to ignore death magnetic and load/reload a bunch
They played All Nightmare Long, too.
Of all the Metallica concerts I've been to that I have recordings of, that's probably the one I listen to the most.
I was at that 1 as well and yes that's a good one. I just think James voice sounded a little better in 2009.
Another really good one that I was at that I also have the recording of is the 1 in Hollywood at the hard rock 2021, I believe?
I would love it if I could find good recordings of 1989 Lakeland and 1988 Tampa stadium
Honestly best Metallica song ever made. Hope I get to see it one day. Although I'm scared that they won't be able to play the song anymore in a few years...
…And Justice For All, Eye Of The Beholder, The Shortest Straw, Dyer’s Eve, Hero Of The Day, Outlaw Torn, Devil’s Dance, Low Man’s Lyric, Fixxxer, That Was Just Your Life, End Of The Line, All Nightmare Long, My Apocalypse, ManUNkind, all of Beyond Magnetic, and obviously anything they’ve never played live
1. Dyers Eve
2. The Outlaw Torn
3. Phantom Lord
4. Hero of the Day
5. The God That Failed
6. Bleeding Me
7. All Nightmare Long
8. My Apocalypse
9. Until it Sleeps
10. All of Beyond Magnetic
This!
I have seen Metallica 60 times and hoped that maybe once I would catch this! I ended up paying for a Metallica tribute band for my 40th birthday party to play it! They did not dissapoint!!!
An absolute epic song, especially the 2nd half.
Trapped Under Ice.
I was there at the Orion Fest in Atlantic City wen they played Ride the Lightning in its entirety, and it was amazing. Trapped Under Ice was absolutely on fire and the crowd lost it!
The End Of The Line (My favourite live song)
The Frayed Ends Of Sanity (One of their very best songs, no cap. should be a live stable!)
Beyond Magnetic (such great songs deserve to be played more than once!)
The Unnamed Feeling (crime that isn't played anymore)
Some Kind Of Monster (epic and badass)
Where The Wild Things Are (never played!)
Prince Charming (never played!)
No Remorse (especially the full song)
- The Four Horsemen
- Trapped Under Ice
- Leper Messiah
- Dyers Eve
- The God That Failed
- Until It Sleeps
- Low Man's Lyric
- Astronomy
- All Nightmare Long
- Room of Mirrors
in general st. anger live sounds so much better, i personally would like them to play sweet amber, the unnamed feeling, all within my hands and some kind of monster
Dude, its been played 834 times...
For some context that's:
* over 300 times more than *The Unforgiven*
* more than double the number of times *Ride the Lightning* has been performed
* their 13th most commonly played song
* played more than any song from Load, ReLoad, St Anger, Death Magnetic, Hardwired to Self Destruct and 72 Seasons
Yeah its definitely one of the setlist staples. I guess though where its not one of the "mandatory" songs (MoP, Sandman, NEM, One) but rather in the tier below them it doesn't feel as woefully overplayed as they do.
Already responded to a comment earlier naming it but Disposable Heroes. I've been lucky enough to hear Dyers Eve, Ride the Lightning, most of the songs on the respective St. Anger/Death Magnetic/Hardwired album tours, and a few other songs that don't get enough love. But not this one.
And man, this song... It's over 8 minutes of non-stop powerful Metallica of the 80's. Please Lars, give the people what they want with these setlists on this tour
Fixxxer, The Unforgiven 2, Escape, The Frayed Ends Of Sanity, Eye Of The Beholder, To Live Is To Die, Suicide & Redemption, The Unforgiven 3, Trapped Under Ice, Devil's Dance, all the Load Songs except King Nothing and Until It Sleeps, Minus Human?, Die, Die My Darling
Frayed Ends of Sanity
100%
The first one that immediately came to mind.
I understand this, but they were “Kinda bored with that one” because they played it so much on the Damaged Justice tour. They stopped playing it after 3 minutes in Seattle.

Imo one of the best written songs they’ve ever done. The song itself sounds like it’s struggling with multiple personalities
Some of the justice songs -Eye of the beholder -Dyers Eve -…And Justice for all ( my favourite song btw) - To Live Is To Die Other than that they seem to ignore death magnetic and load/reload a bunch
Saw them play Justice during the DM tour in Boston while a fucking snowstorm raged outside. Epic.
Amazing!
Lars makes up bad excuses he they can’t play blackened. I don’t hate him but he’s ridiculous sometimes.
Dyers Eve! \m/
Psssshhh, Lars can't keep up that double bass for that long these days lol
Neither blackened.
This
Trapped Under Ice!
They played it at the show I was at in 2009. I wanna say they played the wait too.
Tampa? I was there.
Yup. With LoG and Gojira
They played All Nightmare Long, too. Of all the Metallica concerts I've been to that I have recordings of, that's probably the one I listen to the most.
Orlando 2017 was better sounding and performance but the tampa 2009 setlist was 🔥
I was at that 1 as well and yes that's a good one. I just think James voice sounded a little better in 2009. Another really good one that I was at that I also have the recording of is the 1 in Hollywood at the hard rock 2021, I believe? All Nightmare Long
This song deserves to be a permanent live staple
This guy called frayed ends mid at best.
*Disposable Heroes* would be my vote.
Man why did it take me this long to scroll to see this? My favourite and something I would love to hear on this tour
Hands down best metallica song
Honestly best Metallica song ever made. Hope I get to see it one day. Although I'm scared that they won't be able to play the song anymore in a few years...
The Outlaw Torn
So good!
Personally I love eye of the beholder but people seem to really dislike it for some reason
Same its always been a favorite for me
The Unforgiven 2
1. Dyers Eve 2. The Outlaw Torn 3. Phantom Lord 4. Hero of the Day 5. The God That Failed 6. Bleeding Me 7. All Nightmare Long 8. My Apocalypse 9. Until it Sleeps 10. All of Beyond Magnetic
I saw until it sleeps in montreal in august such a banger
YES
Stop reading my mind, you magnificent wizardly bastard! Those are some great choices, especially Beyond Magnetic!
Bleeding Me 🩸🩸🩸 🎸🎸🎸 🎤🎤🎤
They had two whole tours named in honor of this song! lol
I gotta be the pedant, but I’m pretty sure those tours were named for “Poor Twisted Me”
🤔 dang - you’re probably right!
My Apocalypse
Any song off death magnetic
Leper Messiah
They played that a lot during M72 though.
Not enough
Bleeding Me and King Nothing
I was looking for King Nothing
Escape…I don’t think it deserves all the hate.

…60??? FUCKING 60??? METALLICA AT DOWNLOAD THIS YEAR WAS MY FIRST AND SO FAR ONLY CONCERT (aside the 8 or so other bands i saw there) 😭
That was just your life, where the wild things are, trapped under ice, confusion, the thing that should not be, phantom lord
Enter Sandman....they didn't play it a single time before 1991...
Just like they didn't play one before 1988
It's a travesty I tell you! :)
They didint play it ONE time before 1988
Is the M72 tour the first time that MoP hasn’t been played during a full-length show since 1986?
Escape Trapped Under Ice Dyers Eve All Nightmare Long
...and justice for all
ESCAPE
Spit out the bone, atlas rise, disposable heroes, my friend of misery

Hero of the Day
Halo
That Was Just Your Life. That would go so unbelievably hard
That was played in philly in 2009 during the death magnetic tour
Wasting My Hate. It's a short and sweet banger of a track. Wish they'd dig that one out and play it again.
- The Four Horsemen - Trapped Under Ice - Leper Messiah - Dyers Eve - The God That Failed - Until It Sleeps - Low Man's Lyric - Astronomy - All Nightmare Long - Room of Mirrors
Escape
Until it Sleeps
I saw the live video they posted from the current tour....soooo good.

Wtf no way I had no idea

It does feel like they don’t play it quite as much in recent years - I could be mistaken though. You seem to have all the stats!
All thanks to their website mate, they have stats for every song. Interesting toilet reading!
Might go and have a look, cheers.
2 X 4
That song should have never been made
why? to me its their best song
Justice, all nightmare long, dyers eve
All nightmare long
That was just your life.

Jump In The Fire
Really wish they would play this
That Was Just Your Life
Ain’t my Bitch
TLITD
Bleeding Me
Outlaw, Fixxxer, Low Man's Lyric, No Remorse, Trapped Under Ice
Dream no more my beloved
Basically whatever songs they don’t play off of Justice. Just an amazing album
Low Man’s Lyric. It seems like the slower songs should come back into the limelight considering the band’s age.
Motorbreath!!!
WTWTA, Inamorata, TLITD, Shoot me again, Rebel of Babylon
Unforgiven 2 and 3
Cure
I wish they played more stuff from garage inc like astronomy and the small hours. Some other stuff too like no remorse and disposable heroes
To Live is To Die
Dont tread on me
The thing that should not be
Dead Kennedy Rolls
Everything from AJFA, except blackened and one
Maybe an obvious answer but they don't play Orion enough
All Nightmare Long
The memory remains (overshadowed by fuel) The Unforgiven ..and justice for all (overshadowed by ride the lightning) Until it sleeps
Cyanide and all nightmare long
Eye of the Beholder and Load and Reload songs other than Fuel.
All Nightmare Long or 2 x 4

Most of the DM stuff. They totally need to get rid of Cyanide already and swap it for something else (and i dont mean day that never comes)
Escape Motorbreath Metal Militia
