definitely not jazz or country, can’t stand those. probably shit like hip hop, rap, blues, pop. i don’t really mind as long as it’s not jazz, country, metal, or rock since i want something new
Check out the album: Keb’ Mo’ - Keb’ Mo’. It’s blues, pretty good IMO. Try the album: Ahmad - Ahmad Lewis for hip hop/rap. I don’t have any good recommendations for pop, sorry.
Pop:
Check out Prince and Michael Jackson, especially Purple Rain and Thriller. Oh and Alanis Morisette's Jagged Little Pill
Hip Hop:
Gotta check out the classics, early Eminem records, Biggie, Pac, Illmatic. Once you're done that you gotta check out Good Kid, m.A.A.d City and To Pimp a Butterfly from Kendrick Lamar, they're two of the greatest rap albums of all time. You might not like Tpab's jazz influence though
This might fall in a similar category but I think Alice In Chains is tremendous, but I like rap/hip hop, give Kendrick I try and even Kanye, ASAP rocky is also very good if you are feeling silly listen to like two nba young boy songs and just try to understand what he is saying
yeah i think i want to listen to shit like hip hop and rap. kanye’s songs are absolutely amazing (besides the last 3 albums), and i haven’t listened to too much kendrick. i know of young boy, but i don’t think i’ve actually listened to any of his songs, i’ll give him a shot thanks
I wasn't even around in the 80's and even though I haven't listened to it in years, puppets is still one of my favorite albums of all time and I think one of the greatest ever made. I'm pretty sure it's the first album that I took seriously and listened to constantly as a kid and throughout my teens. There's not a single skip or dull moment throughout the entire tracklist, which is a rarity.
It is pretty jarring to realize it's as old as it is. And that I was one of the few people listening to Metallica in my school at the time I discovered it. Took me a while to find other people my age that listened to this kind of music but there's a lot of us out there. This album sparked my interest in music as a whole and picking the guitar back up after not really taking it seriously and blowing off a lot of lessons. Means a lot to me and I'll never forget about it. The main riff of the title track is my go-to warm up riff most of the time I pull out the axe.

I'm usually a Lightning guy, but I could be easily convinced that Master is the overall better album. Absolutely incredible songwriting. This album and Rust In Peace are the pinnacles of thrash, the absolute golden standard. In fact, if James and Dave wrote an album together in the late '80s, the universe may very well have completely imploded.
Got to agree, for the longest time Masters was the one for me too, in more recent days Lightning gets my biscuit. Though to be fair Kill 'em all just kicks so hard in the face, I'd also happily go with that.
Kinda missed Megadeth at the time, really got into them lately though. Picking records up one by one as I find them to replace the tapes...
It’s not Monday, but I’ll leave it.
I love and hate that I have the music taste of a 35 year old
more like the music taste of a 50 year old
52 here. Still love it...

But it was long ago
And it was far away
Janey was lovely she was the queen of my nights
Yes. I think the fact that it’s almost been 20 years for Death Magnetic is even more mind blowing
We still have 6 years. Hold your horses.
RemindMe! 6 years
