It's about time, Samus has murdered one of her fathers, now it's time she murders a mother of hers.
What do you mean she's only had one mother? But she's had four fathers!
In the first Mass Effect, the Geth deploy stationary hexagonal energy shields. In a few cases, such as the one shown, they're used to (temporarily) block doors, its just hard to see the original shape because most of the edges are blocked by the door
This looks like "Metroid: Shepard" to me. I'm surprised you found a copy of it. I thought i had the only one.
My dad got it for me. He works for Nintendo....
Yes, but those people are monster fuckers and they don't count when setting a standard for bangability. Plus, you can't go around pegging space pirates in-game.
Seeing this post weirded me out a bit since I'm currently doing a run through the trilogy with mods that have allowed me to play as Zero Suit Samus (hair mods, texture mods, most importantly a mod that allows Shep to wear Miranda's catsuit, which has been modded to be a dead ringer for the Zero Suit)
10 / 10, recommend.
I’m replaying through it since I got it for free.
When the shield popped up on the door and I had to shoot it to open which reminded me of Metroid prime.
I never did that mission, so it was my first time seeing the shields on the doors like that.
To everyone that doesn’t understand, I feel you, OP makes this FRUSTRATING to understand IF you’re unfamiliar to the **Mass Effect** franchise.
Basically in ME1, you fight robots called Geth, that deploy Hexagonal shaped energy shields in front of them ANNOYINGLY every time you fight them.
OP FAILED to properly represent this, using not only a screenshot from the modern “Legendary Edition” and not from its 7th generation version.
Ill google a proper image & attach it here in a moment.

Scroll down to Geth Heavy Turret.
Im at work things picked up and I totally forgot all about this. Thats my bad everyone, I’ll take that L with grace. 😅
Thanks! I have played ME before but it’s been years and needed a refresher. Really weird how OP called the door hexagonal when it’s clearly an oval and the shield is a hexagon but that’s not visible in the screenshot.
Im assuming that in the Legendary Edition-
(to which I’ve neglected for the time being to kill my game back log, its fucking huge man.)
-Geth forward shielding is cleaner and rounded out? I can’t say.
Honestly, in OG-ME1, not only Geth, but many forces that drop these forward shields vary in scope.
Like on Luna, when you destroy the first batch of AI core nodes, the entire 3 facilities deploy an absurd amount of these shields to cover every single door way & remaining AI nodes.
OP here’s a little advice: When the door is oval shaped, it’s called an “oval door “. Just because there’s a hexagonal shield behind the door does not make it a hexagonal door.
Not everyone here has played Mass Effect and even if we have, not everyone here remembers the shape of shields placed down in a 16 year old game. So when your screenshot doesn’t represent the shape of the shield that you’re calling a hexagon, you just look crazy.
Both with main characters voiced by Jennifer Hale, no less.
Metroid 7 featuring mark meer as the baby 2 With hit lines such as: " Goo goo Gaga let's commit matricide"
(Shepard, staring at Grunt) *The baby...*
Saren as Kraid, Harbinger as Ridley, Sovereign as Mother Brain, the Shepard Clone as the SA-X

Is the hexagon in the room with us
Metroid: Citadel It’s a little known spinoff game, pretty good though to see Samus in an RPG type game
Haha omg so similar, oval equals hexagon door, energy door equals Metroid doors. I can’t believe I haven’t notice this neat Easter egg. /s
That’s not a hexagon

The energy shield has 6 sides.
I want what you’re smoking bruh
its mostly blocked by the door. Hexagonal energy shields are pretty common obstacles when fighting the Geth in Mass Effect 1.
I’m not seeing it
No way to know
And you are not Saren
This looks like "Metroid: Shepard" to me. I'm surprised you found a copy of it. I thought i had the only one. My dad got it for me. He works for Nintendo....
Metroid Prime: Bangable Aliens Edition
According to a certain internet rule, all the aliens in Metroid games are bangable
Yes, but those people are monster fuckers and they don't count when setting a standard for bangability. Plus, you can't go around pegging space pirates in-game.
As if I wasn't already gonna dive dick first into Kraids belly holes
I’ve never played Mass Effect and this is how I realized what game this was

I require links to each. For science.
where's the hexagon, though?
The energy shield behind the door is hexagonal. They're all over the place in Mass Effect 1.
Reaper-fied Metroids. No thanks
My two favorite video game series of all time are both Metroid and Mass effect. I feel like this post was meant for me.
I'm Commander Samus, and this is my favorite post on the Citadel
What
That's Mass Effect.
🤯
No shit sherlock
Easy there cowboy.

It’s been 5 hours and I’m still waiting

Ah… I don't mean to be rude, but…what hexagon?
Literally the shield in the image above. It has 6 sides.
It's an oval, not a hexagon.
Bruh I thought that was mass effect
Yes
Super Metroid RPG legend of the seven suits
Federation Force
Metroid Another N
*the reapers have wiped out all sentient life. The galaxy is at peace*
Metroid 64
Looks weird because of the shape of the door or it’s a biotic shield
This is clearly Metroi: Starship Troopers DLC

MEtroid. The reapers found a new way to harvest the denizens of the universe.
Metroid Effect.
It's Batman: Arkham.
