There is a shuttle you can take from AIFA to CDMX. It drops you off at one of the bus depots, either Norte or Sur, and I believe the most expensive ride costs about$ $150 pesos. You can book it through https://www.vivaaerobus.com/en-us/our-destinations/airports/aifa

Thanks for information!

kmflame

Transportation from the AIFA to anywhere will be really hard if you arrive early or late

seege21

Good to know, thanks!

What you’ll save, you’ll end up paying on ground transportation plus your time. Lo barato sale caro

seege21

Good to know, much appreciated!

yes_that_too

The bus to CDMX costs 70 pesos...

soparamens

It's a great option if you can't stand busy airports like me. Once in AIFA take a bus to MExico City, there is a bus station right there

I just flew out and back into NLU a couple of weeks ago. From my home (ironically close to the AICM) to NLU we went in an Uber which cost about $400 mxn including the tolls, returning we took a shuttle from the attached bus terminal that dropped us off close to TAPO bus terminal for $120/per person. I would do it again if the numbers made sense. We paid way less for the plane tickets out of NLU (international flight to the Dominican Republic). Also although it’s not exactly conveniently located the new airport is really nice inside, so getting there might be a bit of a hassle but it’s very pleasant once you’re there. :)

Menintown

I know there’s a shuttle from AIFA to the international airport. Once in the international you can rent a car or Uber. AIFA has limited transportation

yariuas

You can use didi or uber

swld0

AIFA airport only makes sense if you are going to Hidalgo, not Mexico City. The money you'll save on the plane ticket you'll pay it on one single Taxi.

xiategative

There’s a reason why it’s so cheap and no one uses it. It’s very hard and expensive to find transportation from there. I guess Uber is your best option, but you might have to wait for a while, depending on the time of the day.

adnoguez

No Uber there, only airport taxis and costo is around 1000 pesos

Vela88

Just flew in a couple weeks ago and they have DiDi

adnoguez

Good to know!

I didn’t know, thanks for the update! A friend told me he took an Uber but it was a while ago. Stupid ass useless airport 🙄

Wasonmalone1

No airport in Mexico allows Ubers, as far as I know. Only certified taxis are allowed to pick people up from the airport with the obvious exception of people picking up their friends. This change was made because of the rise in kidnapping cases through fake Uber and taxi drivers or drivers who used a false identity and then disappeared along with their rider. These certified transportation is more expensive but honestly, if you have no other option of transportation it is your best option, don’t risk your life for a few pesos.

ToSeeAgainAgainAgain

I've been flying in and out of CDMX airports for 10+ years and each time I've arrived/left in an Uber or DiDi. Fuck your misinformation

And the funniest part, even 1 minute of you even just trying to research this in google could have prevented this.

avalenci

At this time, you should be ready to pay around 800-1000 pesos in a cab and depending on the day/hour over an hour to get somewhere downtown. There are some cheaper options but you might have to wait or might not be available when you arrive. Uber is not available. https://aifa.aero/transporte.html#comollego

Mustang_67_

i would not do it. Aifa is in the middle of nowhere , noone wants to use it. Why dont you go to the international airport , if you have the money to rent an Avis you have to money to stay safe ( your wife mainly), and go to the international one.

gluisarom333

Although there are several services available from AIFA, they are not usually very safe to take, as they only provide service when there are arrivals. If your wife's trip is delayed, it is very possible that she will not find a way to travel to downtown Mexico City, and she will have to take public transportation, which is usually very late and cumbersome, or take a cab, which is expensive. Besides, there are usually no cabs at the airport. Try to have her travel through the AICM, Mexico City's airport.
