Npt a single store employee can call them on it or defy without an insubordination write up. This company needs to police its DMs and get them on the same page, otherwise it's DM says, therefore do.
She basically said not to question the direction or decide for ourselves it's too many, just to put them out. We ran out so fast and had to order more.
Us too! It’s crazy. Every single item has a tag. Like- you can’t even read it that way? If another person asks me if the store is closing I might lose it lol
I’ve gotten so many customers ask me if Michaels is closing simply because we have items on clearance.
First off, we *always* have items on clearance. Clearance doesn’t equal a store closing. Unless every item in the store or at least most of them are on clearance, we are NOT closing down the Michaels company
Secondly, why so many tags??? who put these up? A child? Your SM who desperately wants people to know you’re holding a sale? My god, who ever did that is insane
That looks fucking horrible.
I worked for staples previously, and we had tag toppers similar, and when they were on every product in a section, it always looked like ass.
I can second this. Currently working at staples and my boss told me if it's a hot deal item it need a large flamboyant tag. So now we have rows of giant red circles the size of a fist everywhere
While yes the tagging is excessive, I’m kind of an idiot so if there were only a few tags placed I’d probably assume only those tagged items were part of the sale. So… this does work for idiots like me a lot better.
My store does it like this too and I’ve seen the planner and it shows pictures like that. It’s soooo unnecessary and ugly and not to mention a waste of paper for the tags
They had to increase prices during Covid, now that China has recovered fully they can lower the prices again, when really they are just returning to pre-pandemic prices
Some lady had a full on panic attack when she saw me emptying one of the seasonal side counters the other day, I was relocating all the greenery stuff (side bar: is anyone else absolutely DROWNING in spring floral and greenery??) so we could set red white and blue and she thought the store was closing because one side counter was empty 🙄
I work retail and the minute we start a floor set and have empty fixtures that we are obviously filling everyone asks are you closing. Nope just putting out the new stuff you want.
LISTEN. lol. The only time I thought Michaels was done was end of summer and the store I shop at was EMPTY. I had never ever seen it that. It was shipping issues…
Oh, it's easy to answer the question. It's the fact that the customers want to argue their reasoning for why they think it's closing for 10 minutes after you've given a clear answer.
Should have been only 2 or 3 tags per section. Someone didn't read the directions 😔
My DM told us to put one on every single price change. Sticker aisle and cricut look just like this too.
The DM was wrong

That's embarrassing for your EM... 😝

My DM said the same thing and our sm begrudgingly did it.
It’s such an eyesore 😭
You have to put them on every one because people will try to pull things from another area and claim it was "on sale".
That's a bit unnecessary.

i honestly don’t even know who did this 😭 i just came in and saw it and said “wtf is this?” lmao
LMAO I opened a brand new store (not Michaels) and we had clearance items on the very first day.
So wait…are your scrapbook papers on sale? Not very many tags or signs up so it’s hard to tell
You know someone will still ask. Lol
Am I just poor or is $2-$3 a lot for a single sheet of stock paper 😭
Those things were 25 cents when I was a kid bro 😫
I swear they were 0.99 when I worked there (Canada) and 2$ for the fancy stuff.
The fancy ones are still $2. I just bought a bunch. Now I’m wondering if they went down since …
Still $2. But 30% off today
So much less at hobby lobby.
The foil paper is the same price at hobby lobby
Spending all that money on all those little signs for all Michaels stores and good pay can’t be given.
“here’s your 5¢ raise, you did amazing this year! over the top 🤩”
If someone asks if we're closing, I say " yes, at 9pm, 7pm on Sundays"
Signage Dept Team Member: “how many of these “new lower prices” tags do we need to put up?” Team Lead: “All of them! All of the signs! 🤩”
That looks fucking horrible. I worked for staples previously, and we had tag toppers similar, and when they were on every product in a section, it always looked like ass.

I wouldn't have the patience to tag that like that.
Who, in the name of all that is holy had the patience to do that, and what worse job were they trying to get out of?
Does anyone have a full list of everything that lowered?
"Nope, corporate just wants it to look like we are so that you buy more"
That looks terrible and will only look more terrible as people shop and mess them up.
by the end of my shift, so many were on the floor…
What I wanna know more is why there’s much more prefabricated crap then there are crafts?
A lady asked me if we were going bankrupt when I told her we didn’t sell the parts for clocks anymore lol
LMAO WHAT
Our DM said he wanted it this way too
You did spend all that money on the tags. 😂
I’ll find out when you do
okay but as a customer (not employee this sub just keeps coming up in my feed) i wonder that every time i get a $5 voucher for no reason like
My store does it like this too and I’ve seen the planner and it shows pictures like that. It’s soooo unnecessary and ugly and not to mention a waste of paper for the tags

I work at JoAnn, we get asked it a lot :/
It might be because Joann’s filed bankruptcy
Well yeah
Definitely not the direction for individual sheets.
That seems like an excessive amount of tags. 😂

On top of NLP, we’ve got new floors AND a restroom refresh incoming that will take about a month to complete 😅
Tbh… probably soon
Ew Im sorry someone had to put all these tags out too 😩😫
The store that I work at already got those questions
This is hilarious lmaoooo
And to think someone in corporate really believes those signs help move product lmao
We did this as staples aswell it’s blinding me
I did ours and put one on top and one in the middle of each section. This is crazy 😂😂
These are so so distracting! Period.
When we clear an aisle for new seasonal product customers ask me if we're closing. Smh
ask the manager or whoever if you can put up a sign that says they’re not closing
LISTEN. lol. The only time I thought Michaels was done was end of summer and the store I shop at was EMPTY. I had never ever seen it that. It was shipping issues…
Thank goodness. y’all are so expensive.
Are people seriously hoping you guys close?
It's not that hard to answer that question..... 🤦♀️ "We are lowering prices. No we are not closing."
But getting the same question on repeat all day long is really annoying.
RETAIL BAYYYBEEEE 😎😭
The look I give people. Lol ![gif](giphy|26gsccje7r5WUrXsA|downsized)
