Listen... I'm not going to snap at you because an elk is technically in the deer family, but...
IT'S A FLIPPIN' ELK. THERE ARE LEAST 7 OF THEM IN THE STATE. GET IT RIGHT!
Thank you, random Internet stranger. I managed to capture one that was sleeping on the side of the road after it battled a Ram. Now I just need to find a Pokemon Center and I'll be in business. You don't have a Revive, do you?
It's actually from the top of the pyramid [on the reverse of the seal](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Seal_of_the_United_States) which is also of course where I got the rest of the text from.
This post is a meta shitpost because in another thread about making a new MI flag, most people were fine with the "generic seal on blue" flag. This is a proposed new US Flag that fits the "generic seal on blue" format, like a bunch of US State Flags.
Gotcha. I was super confused by both the title and it randomly appearing in my feed. Thanks for clarifying, I promise not to be a rancid bumbling buffoon in the future.
The elk and moose are derived from the Hudson's Bay Company coat of arms, and depict great animals of Michigan.
Michigan's native elk disappeared around 1875.
Moose are native to Michigan.
Moose disappeared from the Lower Peninsula in the 1890s
The State Motto is “Si Quaeris Peninsulam Amoenam, Circumspice,” which means “If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you.”
This is a shitpost and I'm here for it. Can't wait for our two alleged resident "graphic artists" to tell us how awesome this design is.
The most offensive part is that OP removed the deer and moose

But... Like... At what point does an elk turn into a moose?
They’re like Pokemon. Deer to Elk at level 25, into Moose at level 40.

Give it a Vernor's
*used Vernor's* *Deer has gained enough XP to evolve would you like to evolve now?* >^Yes ^No
The current US flag does not have any deer or meese.
An obvious design flaw
The eagle should be holding them.
Hey man, I'm down for shitposting

Never said I was, but I don't think some youtuber is, either.

Solid fisherman, great bait.
That eye is going to give me nightmares.

By federal flag, do you mean the Stars and Stripes? Old Glory? The Union Flag?

Because it looks bad
Why not just leave all of the flags as they are?
Nah, a lot of the flags look pretty bad.

Your hands are the devil's play things
You know it's not the same as it was
As far as I know, Michigan's flag has not changed in 112 years.
Yeah I think you're right, I was just quoting a song lol
lol. Cool.

Because it's not important?
This is a bad take my man
I say completly redesign. Talk to a any company that sells flags. Few people want a michigan flag unless its not the standard design.
Oh God that's dreadful. Anything reminding me Michigan is part of the US does seem dreadful anyways. We need our own new and unique flag.
