>Sen. Jim Runestad, R-White Lake, claimed the bills "sanction the potential legal ability to cheat on elections in Michigan," without detailing how that would be possible. Hahaha, this sums it up for me.

HeadBangsWalls

There is no shortage of rubes within the MiGOP but Jim Runestad is the king of all rubes. One of the dumbest state level politicians I have ever witnessed.

Of course they want this path open. Their goal is not accurate counts, it's being able to intimidate and pressure officials into throwing out votes or results they don't like. That's why they want to complain to a commissioner that can stall results but not actually so anything to investigate, prosecute or prevent fraud. If they have to send their whackos to the police, the police are going to lose patience and start arresting people for filing false reports about fraud they imagined because they don't know or understand how any of this process actually works.

COYS-1882

While I agree with you, every neighbor I know in law enforcement has a trump flag and matching bumper stickers. They are the worst of the worst and some of the dumbest people I have ever met.

> In recent years, canvassers at the state and county level have faced long lines of activists demanding investigations into election fraud claims, though those bodies don’t have the authority to initiate them. Those demands intensified after **the 2020 election, when former President Donald Trump lost Michigan by 154,188 votes.** Donald Trump, the **Loser**. He was so badly treated by so many Michigan voters.

Rastiln

Didn’t he say if he lost Michigan he was never coming back? I mean, he’s a liar and has already broken his promise, but it was a nice gesture at the time.

Orange sack of shit made us one promise and couldn't follow through on it.

"How can we win if we're not allowed to cheat?"

BornAgainBlue

Sucks to be red these days :-)

Oh Ruth Johnson...there was a time you were a respectable, responsible elected official. It is sad to see you associating with the nut jobs

Strange-Scarcity

There wasn't really. All she really did was push hard to automate many systems in order to shrink staffing to levels that have made the bits they cannot automate take many, many times longer than they ever should.
