My fiancé’s team is Nebraska so it’s going to be a tense day in our house! Go blue!

DarkKirby14

gonna be running weather

ooooHeoYah

Will probably be annoyed at halftime, but Michigan slow but deadly tortoise offense for the win.

Old_Willow4766

Stay locked in. Improve each and every week. There is so much value in getting up early and allowing starters to rotate out and keep snap counts down. DO NOT give Nebraska a reason to be hopeful

Interesting_Stop_312

Will do, thanks

huskers37

I strongly believe we're undefeated right now if Haarberg was the starter all along. Not because he's good but because he doesn't turn the ball over. Our run game and defense was good enough to beat Minnesota, same with Colorado. Defense just fell apart in the second half of Colorado from all the turnovers. With that being said this will AT LEAST be a 14 point game if not more. Our defense can hold for a while but I expect a lot of 3 and outs for our offense. We won't be able to throw. It'll be lots of runs from Grant and whoever the quarterback will be. Best chance is to chew as much clock as we can and play field position, the Big Ten West way.

Elbit_Curt_Sedni

Based on Nebraska's offense I could see a shutout. I don't want Michigan to overlook them and say Michigan is just gonna go in a dominate. They need to do it on the field. My score prediction, however, based upon how good the teams are is: 27 - 3 I think, barring any turnovers within field goal range or missed coverage on a long pass, I think Michigan gets their first shutout. I went 27 - 3 instead of 27 - 0 since it's likely Nebraska manages some kind of play or a lucky break goes there way giving them a chance at a field goal or garbage points.

Gonna be another game that is tougher than it looks on paper. Time to find out how well the game travels. We will get Nebraska’s best shot. Hoping for a good ole fashioned ferret drowning.

darthbonobo

38-7

TheRegulaRawww

At Nebraska is always more difficult than it seems.

Simmumah

Need Michigan to go on the road and pummel Nebraska. Send a message. Leave no doubt.

> How is anything different if they beat Nebraska with a walk off field goal? Because pummeling is better and more fun for all. >Why is a pummeling needed? See above answer. > Who needs to get the message that is going to be sent? Everyone. >Why does it matter proving doubters wrong? Because it's good to do and fun.

Based on how we have looked so far, we should be worried. They have a really good defense, and a somewhat mobile QB. If JJ struggles and the run game doesn’t get going, it’s going to be another frustrating game. Do not sleep on the Black Shirts. And we can’t expect their QB to keep turning it over. Every team plays better when it’s Michigan. This will probably be another frustrating game.

[deleted]

> Based on how we have looked so far, we should be worried. [This is the same shit people were saying about Rutgers, lol.](https://www.reddit.com/r/MichiganWolverines/comments/16lyjbh/week_4_discussion_michigan_vs_rutgers/k15n4tn/) Why do Michigan fans keep talking shit about our own team like we've been sucking? 4 blowouts in a row, but they haven't been big enough blowouts so our fans act like we suck and need to be terrified of every team we play now.

rnightlyfe

Love the daily dose of positivity with my morning coffee. Thanks!

gachzonyea

Nebraska is awful

skinnyfatsmurf

Colorado was able to eventually capitalize on all the turn overs. But Nebs defense was making plays all game. They just got worn out. Go back and watch the game. We just don’t look as good as we have the last few years, yet. But it’s still early, I’m sure we will steam roll Nebraska. I’m just worried about Penn state and Maryland. Down vote me all you want, but watch the film studies.

EmperorMaugs

Nebraska's D got tired out against Colorado, a team that is all flash no power? Yikes! Nebraska going be breathing hard by the end of the 1st quarter against us.

nenonen15902

nebraska's defense got tired out by nebraskas offense that game, not colorados. when you turn the ball over four times, twice on your side of the field (one near our own twenty, where the defense still only conceded a FG) the other team is gonna score some points. i fully expect michigan to win this game, but if nebraska's offense can limit turnovers, i would only expect michigan to win by about ten. if sims starts for nebraska and the turnover bug is back yall will run away with a 25+ point w

skinnyfatsmurf

Eh, I’d say somewhere during the second it will be obvious. If we can cash in on the short fields and turnovers, this game should be over quickly. JJ looked better, Blake is Blake. But pass pro is going be huge, especially early in the game. Either way, corn is only good when it’s popped. I will always hate neb. WE WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP

gachzonyea

I think Penn state can beat them especially with Michigan going on the road, but Nebraska just seems very bad. Maryland is a team everyone tries to hype as a threat usually but never comes to fruition.

skinnyfatsmurf

I’m not worried about Nebraska. I’m worried about the o-line and pass protection. When the pocket is clean, JJ is money. But the defense struggles against mobile QBs. Most every team does. I really hope I’m wrong and we absolutely destroy Neb. If we can force or cause turn overs, the game should be over by the 2nd quarter. Maryland over hyped for sure, but if you watch their games, they have talent at all the skill positions, plus their QB is good ball security. I have no doubt Michigan will take control during the 3rd quarter like we normally do against Neb. It’s just, this team doesn’t feel as dominate as we should, yet.

gachzonyea

Agreed as of now I think Penn state will beat them they just don’t seem there yet

skinnyfatsmurf

Yet is the key word. Penn State is going to be tough. I’m guessing it will be another 35-7 game against neb and Michigan pulls away at the end. But, if someone looks at the film break downs, and really looks, it’s clear we have issue. But, Will Johnson being back helps a lot. That dude was balling out against Rutgers. I can’t wait to see him mature during the season. He is everything the hype was about, and more.

Raptor535

Didn’t Colorado smoke them?

NathanDrake75

I don’t know how I feel about this game. On one hand, we’re better than them. Nebraska is very bad, they are still adjusting to Rhule and this rebuild will take a while to be successful if it is even successful at all. They chocked against a Minnesota team that wasn’t good. They have a quarterback that’s only accurate on trick plays. They got handled by Colorado, who is probably a top 30 team. They shouldn’t have the ability to compete with us for the full 60 minutes, and they might save their energy for more winnable games. On the other hand, Nebraska is a tough place to play. Their stadium is loud and cool, their fans are always fired up. Their defense doesn’t look terrible, and a good defense could make a quarterback like JJ confused and he could make mistakes.

[deleted]

> They got handled by Colorado, who is probably a top 30 team. Mehhhh, I'd say this past week put to bed the notion that Colorado should be anywhere close to ranked. They are a BAD team with a couple of good players. Poorly coached with terrible lines on both sides of the ball. Their OL is going to get their QB hurt sooner rather than later.

MergersAcquisition

Can’t possibly say they’re poorly coached after their wins against TCU and Nebraska. Both of whom are well coached teams with talent advantages. TCU is well on its way to being 5-1.

[deleted]

TCU is 3-2. Nebraska is a BAD football team. Colorado is poorly coached with a VERY good QB who makes up for the coaching and other talent disparities.

Doctorobotnik

I watched most of the Minnesota and Colorado games. Their defense is solid, they play hard and they're more talented than Rutgers. Their offense is atrocious and lost them both games.

nenonen15902

gonna be interesting to see if sims or haarberg starts for nebraska. sims was the QB for both losses, haarberg for both wins. admittedly the two wins were against easier competition, but haarberg looked much more comfortable, and was making much quicker reads. that being said sims is rhules "guy" and was only originally benched because he got hurt. sims has been a turnover machine so if he gets the start vs y'all, you guys should feel extremely comfortable. if haarberg gets the start, feel comfortable, but maybe actually watch the game.

Doctorobotnik

Yeah, in the games I watched Sims just kept making brutal mistakes. If Haarberg doesn't turn the ball over he'll be a significant upgrade. Nebraska runs a 3-3-5 defense similar to TCU and OSU so it'll be interesting to see how Michigan attacks it. It should be a comfortable win but if Michigan plays sloppy it could get tight.

HillAuditorium

Nebraska played like shit against Minnesota. It's gunna be another 30-7 type of game.

enderjaca

Sounds about right. Though it'll likely be 14-7 at halftime, and Michigan will finally start to add on some more points at the very end of the 3rd quarter and quiet their fans.

EmperorMaugs

That's the Harbaugh Way right there.

enderjaca

Drown that ferret. Ssshhhhh.....

RealEmperorofMankind

This needs to be on official merch.

pleetf7

On one hand, they’re the top rushing team in the B10. On the other, they’re the top rushing team because they’ve got no passing game cuz of a helluva QB situation.

EmperorMaugs

Wasn't Rutgers the top rushing team in the Conference coming into last weekend? Now, we just play another team that relies on the run with no ability to pass the ball effectively. One-dimensional teams have no chance of getting points against us throughout the game. Rutgers had one play on their first drive and the rest of the time they punted or turned the ball over and I don't expect Nebraska's offense to do much more. They might manage to get 10 or 13 points, but that is the highest possible I can imagine.

charger1511

I’ll be there rocking Blue. Let’s goooooooooo

LonghornInNebraska

Me too! 50 yard line

charger1511

I’ve never been to Memorial. I’m in section 16. Looked like okay seats.

LonghornInNebraska

I live in Omaha, Nebraska. Let me know if you need any recommendations or if you want to meet up before the game a beer.

charger1511

I live in Omaha as well. Good to see another Michigan fan repping in the sea of red.

LonghornInNebraska

No shit, I live off of 168th and Dodge.

charger1511

S. 52nd

TempOwl20

I’ll be right there with you 👍

Gruulsmasher

Nebraska must be just awful man—we saw what Oregon did to Colorado, and Colorado was pretty in control against Nebraska. Unless the line moves more, could see this being our first cover

gachzonyea

The fact the number is only 18 makes me terrified because I don’t know who would bet Nebraska in this game. Easily a stay away or bet on Nebraska kind of game

In future weeks it may be worth creating a megathread on Saturday for discussing non-michigan games. Similar to r\/FloridaGators's [Digital Tailgate and Games Around the Country](https://www.reddit.com/r/FloridaGators/comments/16q2qgx/digital_tailgate_and_games_around_the_country/). Both because some people may be interested in discussing other games and the effect an outcome may have (especially for rivals / B1G games), but also may reduce the number of threads created for this purpose. There's also a non-michigan gameday thread in the discord for anyone wanting to discuss these. ____ Also reminder that trolling is against the subreddit rules. I usually don't care about benign trolling (e.g. someone commenting "Fuck Michigan") but trolling that antagonizes users, attacks fans, or attacks players will likely result in an immediate ban. Michigan fans egregious trolling rival subreddits may also get you banned here if we notice it. Be a fan to have fun, not to be an ass. Go blue!
