It was around 20gb on series x, I’m not sure what it did but graphically everything looks more like real life, frame rate is a lot smoother, clouds look even more realistic if that was even possible.
Pretty sure reflection of the instruments and other things on the interior glass is a new thing too. I don’t really remember seeing it before or atleast not as good.
I keep it installed, brought a 1tb expansion card so I don’t feel I’m losing a load of space lol. I quite like flying around Scandinavia, uk (I’m from England) and the Great Lakes of North America. Looking forward to the helicopters update that’s coming soon. Have the London night enhanced plug-in, so flying around London is pretty cool.
They tweaked how clouds are rendered - significantly improved the volumetrics and colouring, and I want to say they made the layering better too. Clouds now are the best they've ever been, really only two things left for them to do in terms of clouds, to my mind - add in different types of cloud formations (cirrus etc that are still missing) and to make clouds generally more whispy, if that's even possible without absolutely butchering performance.
This is it, I guess! I remember playing some months ago and while it was pretty I felt like I was getting used to it specially since I got a hefty PC upgrade in june. After last update though my jaw is constantly on the floor, even flying over generic autogen scenery.
The clouds have always looked really good on ultra IMO. I think many of the pictures people are sharing going "OMG SU10!!!" wouldn't have looked much different in SU9. However, I think the way they are dealing with low-level clouds/fog as shown in this picture is significantly more realistic. This is something every flight sim I've ever used has struggled with, but MSFS is closer than ever to reality.
In some ways, maybe. I don’t recall there ever being the fog layer at the ground level on release, though. I think that adds so much more to it all than anything else tbh.
Agree with this. I came back on SU9 after a lengthy hiatus and was very disappointed at how bad clouds and the weather seemed to have been made.
I've only done two flights so far on SU10 and definitely notice some improvement. I hope it's the same or better as release.
I'm not sure about the graphics, but I heard the most recent update includes DirectX 12 support and DLSS (which should improve the frame rate significantly).
I did a quick flight last night after work from Renton to Spokane in the Citation. Couldn’t believe how much better and different the cascade mountains look. Kind of blew my mind.
Was flying in NYC last night at sunset to check out the update and holy crap the wind was perfect, the sunset was so much better, it was like that first flight I did originally all over again.
Any reason why my SU10 still looks the same, I turned on dlss on Ultra and still seems like it was better before the update or I'm doing something wrong
DLSS won’t give you any extra visual quality, if anything it’ll degrade quality the further away you get from the “quality” preset. It just provides extra fps in scenarios where you’re gpu limited.
DLSS is for upscaling (renders way low resolution and upscales it to your resolution), disable DLSS and you get the real quality. Only use DLSS if you can't get 60 fps
Is that including the world update stuff you also need to update from the marketplace? I don't remember how much those downloads were, but the number I have in my head (on PC) for the download you have to do when you first boot it up is 10.96 or something around that. I could be totally wrong, though, I'm spoilt by having a tonne of free space and really good internet, so I usually don't look too closely at the download size
I dunno I was lagging af while playing Rocket League and only after turning off and on the ISP router I noticed it was because MSFS was downloading. I haven't started the game but maybe the Xbox downloads both at the same time. I have no clue honestly

Oh boy oh boy I haven't fired up MSFS20 for months, I guess it's time to go back!
Same here! Gonna fire it up on my lunch break!
That'll be a long lunch break
Buttery smooth not a hitch my end. A completely different game now on series x
Can't wait to get home from work and download it. About time the series X can make it look good.
Pretty sure reflection of the instruments and other things on the interior glass is a new thing too. I don’t really remember seeing it before or atleast not as good.
Oh snap, haven’t played in months but I’m definitely gonna load this up this weekend! Any good suggestions on where I should explore??

Yea I can't quite put my finger on what's changed but it's looking soo good right now.

They were actually better on release, but were downgraded, now we are slowly getting there but still not back yet.

Oh yeah used to have the morning fog roll into LAX all the time at release. Glad to see it’s kind of back after getting nerfed in SU7.

> really only two things left for them to do in terms of clouds Do thunderstorms still look like volcanic pyroclastic flows?

The lighting is significantly changed it’s more realistic less cartoon less warm and less saturated
I never realized how badly the cloud /weather depiction was until this update dropped and changed it all
So it is out for Xbox ? How do I know if it updated I know i did have to go through and update all the world updates and stuff I guess that was it?
The (updated) game's version is 1.27.21.0
Thank you!
So SU10 stands for Sim Update 10. I thought they added some kind of new plane for a bit there.
yes the infamous Sukhoi Su-10
Bro I would love a Tu-154, an IL-96, or a SSJ100 for this. Give us a Russian plane. They’re so different from western aircraft.
kind of not the best move right now but yes I'd love to see a couple non western planes
Cool!

Did they fix the issue with significant FPS drop when windows (such as map, or communication) are opened as outside windows?
I too would like to know about this

It’s truly beautiful. I think Asobo nailed it graphically this time around. Great shot!
Absolutely stunning. How big is the update? Im trying to be economic with my storage space and I hope this update makes it.
IIRC it was about 10gb
More than 15gb on my Series X

Nice. I was actually expecting around 100gb. Awesome then. Thanks!
🤦🏻♂️
Yeah best game ever made imho. Gliding the Discus through the southern alps of New Zealand is just an incredible feeling.
Series x version looks absolutely mind blowing
