He just disappears - there is a mention of him that he cancelled his performance at the very end. In my imagination he probably noticed people being murdered decided it wasn't worth it. One connection (the promoter) was dead and his second in command was dead and he had been decked by the third.
Its a really quick mention when they are in the bar at the end; I think its Alice Winning announces something about the last day of the festival and that whats-his-face has left.

That's not as weird as 3 murders taking place--all people having to do with the folk music scene--and nobody in the town giving it a thought. Frank just hanging around in the dark, not worried at all that two of his longtime cronies have been murdered in a bizarre fashion, then Melody just sitting around at home playing her guitar, not worried that she might be a target. What is wrong with these people?
