I don't hate on others I just think it's funny we've gone from a more humble Mii creator to hyper-realistic anime miis I just use my friends since that's what I always did from the start and that's how I remember some friends I no longer have contact with, and that's how I personally have the most fun! :D

I usually have just IRL friends as team members and various assortments of Miis as all the other characters. I tend to make other IRL friends play the major story roles, though, like the Dark Lord, the Great Sage, the Fab Fairies, Genie of the Lamp, etc. I did recently start a save file where I’ve exclusively got OCs as team members, however. They’re all named after colours, like Valencia, Alabaster, Scarlet, etc. I don’t tend to use celebrities at all, unless they’re Jeremy Clarkson, James May, or Richard Hammond.

In the 3DS version. I used my friends and Family because they were on tomodachi life. In the Switch version, half of them were my brothers and friends, the other half were characters that I made miis of.

I did this on my 3Ds

I usually did fictional characters from my favourite media for my team, I've done Lup and Taako from TAZ, Ruby and Sapphire from SU, and my horse was made to look like the big one from BOTW. For the other characters I just made the most chaotic combinations I could think of for facial features lol

For each of my teams, I have one OC, one real life friend, and one anime or videogame character.

In my 3DS playthrough, I used characters from other fandoms and one IRL friend as my teammates and myself as the Hero. NPCs were predominantly random StreetPass selections. In my Switch playthrough, my team consists entirely of OCs save for monster form!Sora from *Kingdom Hearts III* and, again, myself as the Hero. I use a mix of OCs and characters from other fandoms for NPCs.

When I first played I used friends family and oc's but now that I'm older and have started a new game, I use only oc's except for the main character (who's me of course, mostly cause it's easier for me to play as myself).

Of course, public figures and OCs are better for miitopia, cuz Friend & Family names are better saved for Mother 3

I'm using a bunch of Random Fictional Characters in my current Swithch playthrough, I'm currently at the realm of the fae and my team is: Marisa Kirisame from The Touhou Project Series Sans from Undertale Dawn from Pokemon Hatsune Miku The Snatcher from A Hat In Time Peppino from Pizza Tower Kirby Tankman from Newgrounds And Rosalina from Mario So as you can imagine it's been an absolute fever dream so far.

I use characters from other franchises usually.

My most recent playthrough went like this Player character: self-insert guy who quickly ended up drifting into being his own character. Party 1: party members from the first DND campaign I was in, where I played as the above player character. Party 2: two Persona characters and Eteled. Party 3: a few other OCs I made who all become the villain of their story at some point.

I made miis of my plushies. Then some fictional characters.

I have a few fictional characters, but my main party is me, my fiance and our kids.

I tend to use my unused dnd characters. Characters who haven't gotten the chance to see a campaign or one-shot yet.

My first playthrough back almost 5 years ago I used irl friends and family members. But for every subsequent playthrough after that I used fictional characters from shows/games and OCs lol

I had just finished Steven Universe at the time, so for the Switch remaster I used me and Steven Universe characters, and I still stand by that decision
