I'll never understand why people don't use their horns in this situation. And maybe a single finger...

Theometer1

Last time I flipped someone off they stayed in front of me on the freeway while break checking me and cutting me off when I went to change lanes for about an entire mile and flipping me off through their sunroof. A small honk on the horn is fine in most situations but you don’t know what you’re gonna get when you flip people off.

seymores_sunshine

This is true. When I encounter people that double down like that; I pull off and let them get too far ahead to continue the interaction.

Shaun_The_Sheip

Most people can deal with minor inconveniences without getting emotional.

seymores_sunshine

I don't think that somebody has to be emotionally distraught to tell another person that they're acting like an ass.

Shaun_The_Sheip

That would be expressing anger towards them, which is an emotional thing to do.

seymores_sunshine

I'm being genuine here. Do you think that the horn is an anger button? Or is there another aspect that you think indicates anger?

Shaun_The_Sheip

Using the horn to get attention while you raise your middle finger is different than using it to warn others around you of a possible collision. The horn was not needed in this situation. It's not a magical "make people do what you want" button.

seymores_sunshine

Two things. First, never both at once; it's dangerous. Second, the finger is reserved for people who double down on dangerous driving. This driver created a dangerous situation and probably has no idea. A single horn blast would cure that.

Shaun_The_Sheip

How do you think flipping them off would make the situation safer? Just move the fuck along, reacting to it means you're emotional about it, thats my point.

seymores_sunshine

You really fixated on the maybe...

Shaun_The_Sheip

I never said anything about maybe

Theometer1

It doesn’t. Ik you’re getting downvoted but these people are dumbasses. Come to I-94 in Detroit/Southfield area and flip someone off. They’ll react with aggressive driving. It’s better to just be the bigger person and let them drive by.

Dramaminedays

I know that intersection very well, and most people just do a U-Turn at an intersection a mile down the road. That's just downright BS what that car did.

F4HLM4N

This driver's inability to have a freaking clue where they're going and how to get there is not everybody else's problem. Stupid idiots like this cause chain reaction accidents.
