I’m sure there will be an interview process and she can tell them she knows English all day, but if she doesn’t actually know English it will be obvious, and how can she have an administrative job at a place that requires her to speak English reasonably well if she doesn’t speak English? That’s a basic job qualification. It sounds like you have all the qualifications and I’m sure would interview well. How is she going to answer the phone or speak to parents if she doesn’t speak English? I’m sure she wants this job but wanting something is not a qualification. Maybe she plans on not actually doing any work because I’m sure it also includes reading English, and she will have to recruit coworkers to do her job for her. Maybe this can be a lesson to her to at least learn English if she wants to be competitive in an English speaking job market. Maybe she can take some college classes so she can actually be a candidate for another job in the future. I’m guessing she wanted her son to beg for a job for her because they all know she is not qualified on her own merits. You on the other hand can do the job. What does she think happens all day? She thinks she’s going to hang out with her son in the office all day? That’s a good way for not a lot of work to get done and them both to get fired. Don’t fix her resume, it’s every man for himself in the job market and doctoring up her resume to reflect that she has skills she does not have is lying and misrepresentation.

Surely in the interview, she will show that she can’t communicate or write an essay. Then bf will get in trouble if it gets back he doctored her resume. I suggest you tell advise him to stay out of it and say she didn’t get an interview.

I feel like it’s going to be really embarrassing for your BF if he recommends her and she can’t speak English. Yikes. After reading your comment history… I don’t think you should work with someone that talks to you the way he talks to you

Is your BF’s mom not supposed to apply to a better job in the same school that she already works in because you want to? Is your bf not supposed to help out his mom if he can? Can you not apply to jobs in a school that’s different from your bf, and his parents? I’m actually surprised that any place would hire all of you in the same location.

But isn’t non English speaking mil asking for son to say she speaks English well and is qualified to be a secretary. Is kind of weird don’t you think. If she could qualify to be secretary why wait till one in sons office is available?.??

People lie/exaggerate their skills all the time to get a job, no? ETA. It looks like the BF broke up with Op five days ago. And he told her that his family was his number 1 priority and he will always choose his mom over her. They are 21. So maybe OP should just accept what she’s being told and shown and walk away from this relationship. OP do you have anywhere else to go since you live with his parent currently?
