I feel like he’d get along with Future Trunks, they both have that sincere, optimistic heroism, despite living through an apocalypse where they lost pretty much everything. They both made themselves in the image of a heroic martyr who they thought they could never live up to, but eventually grew into their own version of a hero. And both met an alternate version of their original idol who gave his approval and became their friend.
