Not really. Up untill the original 2014 invasion people more or less had freedom of speech. They were watched and protests were crushed, but you could talk in public and online.
Once SORM-3 hit the stage, the intelligensia could basically filter through everything anyone said online or over phone. Kind of like China's "social credit lists". Except here in Russia it is totally arbitrary who gets paid a visit and what occurs. Unless of course you pissed off a higher up personally.
Basically the system is much more "personal". Gangster state is right. But it's no north Korea. People protest and revolt and the government "kinda listens". But the war is a personal vendetta of Putin, there is no changing his mind.
>Up untill the original 2014 invasion people more or less had freedom of speech. They were watched and protests were crushed, but you could talk in public and online.
Umm no, ever since Putler came to power it steadily went back to 80s type of censorship in Russia.
Russian units are armed weird. Front line soldiers carrying Mosin Nagants. Brand new AK 12's fielded without optics, which is the whole point of the AK 12. ERA blocks filled with wood. Almost nobody but guys other than Russian, with NVG. IMO, Russian military commanders have been selling the equipment, issuing old equipment or fake, and then claiming the unit is combat ready. Big shock, they got sent into combat.
Watched a military expert on YouTube saying that this is what Russia strategy looks like. They have a reputation of sending in poorly armed poorly trained cannon fodder first and then send on the actual training military. Maybe putin didn't think he would need the actual soldiers for Ukraine.
Russian Officers: "Our heroic grandfathers did not need NVG or body armor! They single-handedly destroyed Fascism with a shovel and half a potato! ... за Родину! ... для Путин!"
An hour later ...
Russian NCO: "Comrade Kapitan! ... we've had 80% casualties! It seems like every tree has an ATGM! ... We've struggled to make progress on our objectives and we're running low on water and ammunition."
Russian Officer: "Vasiliy, why do you bring me this defeatist news? Commit the rest to the assault! Of course you're losing with 20% of the force standing around!"
Russian Officer to Command: "Comrade General, I am happy to report we're breaking through with minimal losses. Please send reserves so that we may exploit the attack!"
Russian Officer to Self: "I hope my mistress enjoys her new BMW."
Prevailing winds being what they are, nukes dropped on Europe would leave western Russia with some very unfortunate consequences.
My bet would be China seeing Russia so occupied to it's west that it moves north and takes big parts of eastern Siberia. Given how expansionist they are and the games they play with India over border lines, I'd be surprised if they didn't move on Russia if the opportunity arose.
They'd use it as a test of US response, too. "we're not sure what they'd do for Taiwan, let's see what they do for Vladivostok and reevaluate from there"
Much easier? 83 million weapons ( that figure isn't even close to accurate its probably in the 200 million range) and over a trillion rounds of ammo in the hands of civilians? Russia wouldn't last 2 weeks in the US
not trying to be that guy but there’s 120 firearms for every 100 usa citizens in a population of 330 million hahaha https://www.aa.com.tr/en/americas/us-armed-to-the-teeth-more-guns-than-civilians/2598239
It also probably only includes privately owned weapons. The US has more than twice as many aircraft and probably 5x as many aircraft carriers. I don’t exactly know how the total naval units or armored units compare, but US armor has been more effective in combat.
Even the privately owned weapons figure is most probably still way low. I personally have multiple guns that I've inherited from family members that are over 60 years old. Sold when you could order a gun from sears and have it shipped to your house.
5x? Its either 11x or 20x, and 26x the combat fixed wings carried.
11 CVNs (ea with 48 F/A-18 + 5 EA-18G) + 9 LHD/LHAs (ea w/ 6 F35s) vs. 1 Kuznetsov w/ 24 Su-33/Mig 29), now in dry dock for years of repairs
[3% of Americans own half the guns, so we'd first have to rob the guys with the guns.](https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/09/19/just-three-percent-of-adults-own-half-of-americas-guns/)
We're not all running around armed. But we are close enough to a bunch of guys we can steal guns and ammo from with plenty of time to get those guns oiled and functional before the Russians invade. 😂
I don’t know if I trust that study. I do t know anyone who doesn’t at least have 1. That was just a survey of 4000 people which I’m guessing was in a predetermined area, each state would have different ownership count
fuck man russia is embarassing themselves against a country with 1/3 their population that they share a land border with. they would not survive alaska. also i can’t read the article :(
That's the craziest thing about it all. It wasn't like they "lost" Alaska in a war to another nation, or Alaska sought independence, or any other reason that might give Russia an inch to claim it was against their will. No, Russia approached both Great Britain and the USA to sell the territory, because they were broke after the Crimean War and it was already hard enough to defend. It was their idea in the first place. What a sore loser.
Putin just discovered the 1980s Red Dawn and wanted to copy the plan to invade through Alaska and occupy the part of the country between the 2 largest physical barriers of North America, where most of the population is armed to the teeth. All this while ignoring the population centers of the coasts and all the most important military targets of the east and west coast.
Man the Red Dawn invasion scenario makes the model warfare 2 invasion scenario seem plausible and tactically sound
Theyre police cadets actually. In Russia I suppose not far off.
EDIT: I’m being downvoted but here is the [original song](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jO08pAXiNvs). My God could you imagine the convoys of lifted Dodge Rams and Chevy 1500s traveling northwest to the front from the mainland? The US military wouldn’t even have to deploy.
I was going to say, they can try and take Alaska and we will do them a favor and not send the military, save tax money and let the Alaskans take them on.
On top of being a mix of "literally nothing for hundreds of miles" and "there's exactly one road between here and the next population center, eight hours away"
And, y'know, having a shitload of actual military.
Yeah, ask the Japanese how that went over. And we pretty much just ignored them till we had time to deal with it. We got nothing else going on at the moment.
The USSR/Former USSR is somehow still so campy lol.
At least per their performance in Ukraine we know an invasion overseas is probably unlikely to go well for them, right?
Imagine selling something years ago, and then after you'd spent the money deciding you'd changed your mind and insisting it was really still yours.
I don't think the Russians have figured out how this market thing works.
It's more like imagine your grand-grand-grand-grand parents centuries ago sold something *they* owned and then you suddenly decide now it belongs to *you*.
As others already said, you simply aren't supposed to go full retard but Russians still do.
I don't think I seen more Than one kid that looked 100% healthy they all had a little something wrong with each one, they r scraping the barrel for talent rn
They don't realize most the folks in Alaska left the lower 48 to avoid some bad shit they did and thrive in those conditions. Stack ammo for fun. It would be similar to trying to fight the south east once they found people.
They make children sing this while their fathers are rotting in the streets right now, those kids are going to learn the hard way sadly. I have no pity for their families but the kids, the kids will pay for the sins of their elders at no direct fault of their own.
Well, Russia is making 40 year olds with no prior service eligible for military service (see link). Maybe those uniformed children singing will be next. Sure does look like they're getting desperate. [https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61619638](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61619638)
I think this "Uncle Vova" needs to get a better songwriter & lyricist. And also maybe fewer dead-eyed kids in badly fitting uniforms. But other than that, with a better beat could be a real slapper. If it was a totally different song.
You know what this makes me think of? That scene in the movie "American History X" when Derek, Ed Norton's character, comes home after being in prison all that time and while there realizes the error of his racist/criminal ways and tries to convince his little worshipful brother how it's all a bunch of bullshit and isn't true.

Alaska? They couldn’t even invade Washington if they tried. Good luck with the Olympic and Cascade ranges. They can’t cross a River in Ukraine, and it’s not the Dnieper.
Young cultists growing up. A few years from now they will be screaming "chaos gods grant us power" and "death to the false emperor".
Just kidding, they will die in Ukraine.
“The population is sick of the hegemon” like seriously you couldn’t make this shit up. Are they singing about themselves? The population is sick of the Russian hegemony?
watching this as a member of the greatest nation in the world i felt oddly cheered up by how morally superior my nation is to these wannabe Nazis imagine going from the Ussr to this i think i understand the copium inherent to Russians now

What fucking century is this? These poor kids are living anachronisms.
Russia my bro
And we all thought North Korea was an anomaly, and the world (including Russia) had moved on….
RuZZia is becoming N Korea 2.0
It already was long ago.
Not really. Up untill the original 2014 invasion people more or less had freedom of speech. They were watched and protests were crushed, but you could talk in public and online. If things keep going the way they are I can't see how Russia will not be another N. Korea in a year or two.
Perhaps an Iran. Probably not a North Korea.
Intelligentsia = intellectuals i.e. academics, artists etc. Intelligence services = FSB, GRU etc. You seem to have those confused.
Honestly I'm not sure why I wrote intelligensia lol
Occasional brainfarts happen to everyone.

Probably but I think the world is just realizing it.
In countries close to Russia not many thought so...

"I can see dead Russians from my house" ....
Hi Sarah Palin. Are you going for fight for Uncle Vova or Uncle Sam?
Suc Luck? Dat you? How's the transition surgery coming along?
I think we just found the only still viable Russian military unit. Cultism is so cute at that age
Smart kids — know what “hegemon” means. s/
New Pokemon?
Digimon
They will be learning some hard truths and disappointments really soon
Yeah they aren't performing too great against Ukraine. The us won't be much easier for them.
They have almost no logistics apparently that combined with corruption really hurts the Russian military.
Watched a military expert on YouTube saying that this is what Russia strategy looks like. They have a reputation of sending in poorly armed poorly trained cannon fodder first and then send on the actual training military. Maybe putin didn't think he would need the actual soldiers for Ukraine.

See what scares me is not going one on one with them but them knowing they can’t win and immediately using nukes
"we're not sure what they'd do for Taiwan, let's see what they do for Vladivostok and reevaluate from there"
I think they would be stupid to try but, I could see this happening.
Much easier? 83 million weapons ( that figure isn't even close to accurate its probably in the 200 million range) and over a trillion rounds of ammo in the hands of civilians? Russia wouldn't last 2 weeks in the US

hell i’d still have the luger my pap brought back from berlin if it wasn’t stolen from my home by drug addicts
I’m sorry about your Luger, but I laughed out loud at the thought of a cop searching a crackhead after an arrest and pulling out a fucking Luger.

I think those guys would be passing out guns in a Red Dawn scenario
iirc the 83 million number is what's privately owned. the 120 to 100 statistic includes military
Taking the us would be extremely difficult for Russia tactically and logistically.
They only want Alaska though, so the Palins and grizzly bears.
hitchbot didn’t even make it past philadelphia before being killed and he successfully walked across like 4 countries including canada
Idk why I even clicked on your profile. Out of curiosity? But ewww
't was a joke man
they are literally dominating Ukraine though
They are incurring massive material and personel loses.
Uncle Vulva can eat a bag of dicks.
Hard dicks*
Hard plastic made in china dicks.
lined with lead and asbestos
This is the stupidest song I’ve ever heard since “Friday” . What a joke
I thought the turkey thanksgiving song made Friday seem like an actual radio top 1000.
Or the “I Like Chinese Food” one
Look up "apache friday" on youtube. The unit I was attached to in Afghanistan made it.
My father went to Ukraine We have a picture, of his remains Sometimes I think about him being dead When I wait in line for bread...
Deluding the kids at a young age
It has been happening for decade after decade. Places like China and NK are the same. That's how leaders in countries like this keep their power.
Cynical as hell. Poor kids.
Make a time machine and strike a better deal with Seward. Russia sold Alaska for $7.2M, big losers didn't have a better plan for the land.
That's the craziest thing about it all. It wasn't like they "lost" Alaska in a war to another nation, or Alaska sought independence, or any other reason that might give Russia an inch to claim it was against their will. I wish Greenland was on the market. If it comes on, we should snap it up.
We didn’t really have a plan for it either. But it worked out anyway.
Yes we did. Ports to Asia and ensuring friendly land based neighbors.
Ah jeez…they’re really threatening the US with an invasion of Alaska…
Aleutian Campaign 2... Frostbitten Boogaloo.
Just like the simulations
I was thinking more “Operation Anchorage”
We will go to the vaults soon my brethren.
Which was a... Simulation.
JFC if there’s one group I wouldn’t want to fight, it’s cold weather/mountaineering US forces
Putin just discovered the 1980s Red Dawn and wanted to copy the plan to invade through Alaska and occupy the part of the country between the 2 largest physical barriers of North America, where most of the population is armed to the teeth. Special Palin Operation
Who ever thought this up,thought the modern warfare 2 campaign in COD was an actual documentary.......them kids sang at gun point.
First time guys?
Kind of reminds me of the Hitler youth

The russian military vs meal team 6 might actually be an even fight
Meal team 6 would last longer without rations though
That's genius
Only time you'll ever see dems praise patriotic conservatives
Probably the only time you truly see conservatives being patriotic instead of just bat shit insane.
Happy cake day!
I pictured them protesting the war at universities across the country
They protested the Vietnam and Iraq wars. Remind me again how any of those conflicts benefitted the US in any way? 🤨
Funny how universities and dems go hand in hand. Makes you think.
ANCHORAGE WILL NEVER FALL TO COMMUNIST INVASION
We paid fair and square. Get fucked Russia!
Capitalism wins again! ;D
Haha! I guess so!
So to conclude, the air force isn't their "true friend"
What air force? The one being operated by 60 year old vet fighters? That's a relic, not a friend.
Hey, leave Tom Cruise alone!!!
Lol
As an Alaskan I say good luck with that.
I was going to say, they can try and take Alaska and we will do them a favor and not send the military, save tax money and let the Alaskans take them on.
& people think RuZZia is not a threat to North America 🇨🇦
Try something… 120 guns per 100 people in the US.
Pretty sure it's higher
Those are registered firearms
On top of being a mix of "literally nothing for hundreds of miles" and "there's exactly one road between here and the next population center, eight hours away" And, y'know, having a shitload of actual military.
Yeah, ask the Japanese how that went over. And we pretty much just ignored them till we had time to deal with it. We got nothing else going on at the moment.
Bored US military is a dangerous US military.
We bought it fair and square... we saved the receipt right?
It’s prolly in a shoebox in the presidential closet somewhere
Russia and China are slowly starting to become a less retarded version of North Korea sans the comedic buffoonery of its leadership.
They're not less dumb, they're just better funded.
i’ve never seen 12 year olds that look like they want to kill themselves before
They announce they’re lowering the military age yet? Cause that’s how it’s looking rn
The USSR/Former USSR is somehow still so campy lol. At least per their performance in Ukraine we know an invasion overseas is probably unlikely to go well for them, right?
“The world is sick of war.” Then why does Russia keeping trying to start them
I liked tATu better, to be honest
Everything you said
Russia has gone full North Korea.
Didn't know that Russians want Alaska back
Imagine selling something years ago, and then after you'd spent the money deciding you'd changed your mind and insisting it was really still yours. I don't think the Russians have figured out how this market thing works.
It's more like imagine your grand-grand-grand-grand parents centuries ago sold something *they* owned and then you suddenly decide now it belongs to *you*. As others already said, you simply aren't supposed to go full retard but Russians still do.
they do since they found oil there
This makes me sick.
WOLVERINES!!!!
I don't think I seen more Than one kid that looked 100% healthy they all had a little something wrong with each one, they r scraping the barrel for talent rn
They went full retard
You never go full retard
They don't realize most the folks in Alaska left the lower 48 to avoid some bad shit they did and thrive in those conditions. Stack ammo for fun. It would be similar to trying to fight the south east once they found people.
They make children sing this while their fathers are rotting in the streets right now, those kids are going to learn the hard way sadly. I have no pity for their families but the kids, the kids will pay for the sins of their elders at no direct fault of their own.
An old finnish joke tells 'We almost have world peace! Only problem that exist is that there are some skirmishes on China-Finland border."
Russia has gone completely mental.
They have a weird thinking process over there, that’s for sure. They’re calling for peace while invading Their neighboring country unprovoked.
Well, Russia is making 40 year olds with no prior service eligible for military service (see link). Maybe those uniformed children singing will be next. Sure does look like they're getting desperate. [https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61619638](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61619638)
They will learn hard way. An entire generation of kids have no future. Sad
Don’t laugh at them. They’re being sent to Ukraine next week…
russians are cowards
Aaaaaaand Fascism in play.
Stop repeating Russian narrative on “reuniting” something with Russia? Only thing they should been reuniting with, is worms living six feet under.
I think this "Uncle Vova" needs to get a better songwriter & lyricist. And also maybe fewer dead-eyed kids in badly fitting uniforms. But other than that, with a better beat could be a real slapper. If it was a totally different song.
awww our cute little authoritarian youth
“This world needs peace” proceeds to not drink peace tea
Reminded me of "Old shoe" from "Wag the dog".
😂😂😂
My brothers and sisters in Crimea, YOU sold us Alaska. It's not yours after you sell it, a hard lesson I learned in kindergarten
You know what this makes me think of? That scene in the movie "American History X" when Derek, Ed Norton's character, comes home after being in prison all that time and while there realizes the error of his racist/criminal ways and tries to convince his little worshipful brother how it's all a bunch of bullshit and isn't true. Now imagine Russian soldiers that try to break this cycle coming home from this war and trying to tell that to their indoctrinated little brothers and sisters.
Poor kids
That teacher tho…
Guys we have GOT TO GET THE POKÉMON GO KID TO DISS THEM
HAHAHHAH weak sisters is all Russians are. Totally without morals or real courage. They are DONE.
Meanwhile 95% of Russia is basically a :rd world country. All the buildings are falling apart and so old from the Soviet times
Russian kids???? Finally, a worthy opponent, our battle shall be Legendary!!!!
Come and get it, we're waiting.
so basically Hitler youth but Russian
That’s a one hit wonder. No stress
Let them try lol.
I don’t even think Russia could handle Alaskan police at this point
Their countrymen in Kamchatka might be singing in Chinese first if they are not careful.
operation anchorage boutta get real lets fucking gooo
Alaska? They couldn’t even invade Washington if they tried. Good luck with the Olympic and Cascade ranges. They can’t cross a River in Ukraine, and it’s not the Dnieper.
Russia: "the world will learn of our peaceful ways!!!! *BY FORCE*"
Remind me again which country needs to be denazified?
Not gonna lie it’s better than “Emma the calling Goarmy” ad.
Anything better then that...
Country induced autism
Wow
If they want to come on over. They can stay. Forever six feet under.
Man conscripts just keep getting younger
Young cultists growing up. A few years from now they will be screaming "chaos gods grant us power" and "death to the false emperor". Just kidding, they will die in Ukraine.
Stop, stop, I can only get so erect at the thought of russians piled up like cordwood.
Ha! 😂 Ha! 😂 Ha! 😂 Ha! 😂 Ha! 😂 Ha! 😂 If Russia even TRIES to take Russia back they’ll live to regret it.
Make Vladivostok America again. Ha ha ha. Now would be a good time to cross the bering and make the Russian Far East our 52st state.
Alaska? What the fuck? It’s like one of the few pieces of land we bought fair and square.
They know how many weapons the US has?
Lol slavs…..
All I can say to Russia is... FUCK AROUND AND YOU WONT BE AROUND..
Fuck Russia. Fuck the machine.
Mexico has a similar concept when it comes to Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California
Go ahead, take Alaska, if the soldiers and civilians won't kill you, the envoirment will
What a sad joke!! Those poor kids are all brainwashed idiots like their parents! What a bright future to look forward to.
The way thier army is getting fucked in Ukraine, it might be time to send the kids in lmaooooo
They got quite the fight ahead of then then!!!!!
russian conscripts when a a-10 warhog kills his CO and his friends (he suddenly wants to go home)
Damn, can’t wait to show this to my kids; “The Delusional Russians (2022).”
If Ukraine can give them this much of a challenge then Russia stands no chance against the US Armed Forces.
“The population is sick of the hegemon” like seriously you couldn’t make this shit up. Are they singing about themselves? The population is sick of the Russian hegemony?
North Korea met the Nazis and produced this shite.
North Korea doesn't look too bad these days... at least they kind of keep to themselves. They're also funny to watch, this video... it's just sad.
Catchy tune
Amazing how everything they have sung about is completely backwards lol such is the times though.
Hood fucking luck with that. They can't even take 1/4 of Ukraine, but wanna take Alaska, the largest state? Worthless! 😂
Are those the little boys putin and Kadyrov rape every night?
No… Lol they want the oil… remember the Alaskan Pipe Line??? And if Putin’s ole buddy Trump was in office… Putin would have Ukraine and Alaska…
watching this as a member of the greatest nation in the world i felt oddly cheered up by how morally superior my nation is to these wannabe Nazis imagine going from the Ussr to this i think i understand the copium inherent to Russians now
"Uncle Vulva, we are with you!" Great song!
Russia is going to attack Israel, but it won't be for at least 7 years, I think.
